Chapter 292: Chapter 135: The True Meaning of Gourmet Food! Encountering a Weight Loss Training Camp, Part 4
’Are you kidding me? If all my staff members start ordering food, people are going to think I hired them as shills.’
’Am I that kind of person?’
Fang Chang quickly finished his dish. He came trotting over with a wide, fawning grin, not even bothering to call for He Shuting.
"Boss Su, I swear your skills have gotten even better! If you ask me, it’s a crime the National Guest House hasn’t hired you. A massive loss for them!"
"No, forget the National Guest House! That stupid tire company—if Michelin doesn’t invite you to be a judge, they’re just blind!"
"Starting today, any Michelin rating that doesn’t involve Boss Su has zero credibility. I’m calling it!"
Su Chen looked at Fang Chang, speechless. "Spit it out."
"I’d like another order..."
"You’ll have to wait." Su Chen was taking all comers now. He was even getting a little addicted to it.
Every customer was different, which meant he had to alter his cooking method slightly each time. As a result, every dish he stir-fried was a small act of creation.
There was a deep sense of accomplishment in having that creativity recognized.
So, it wasn’t that people hated working... they just hated the mind-numbing repetition of meaningless tasks, day in and day out.
This time, Su Chen didn’t hold back. He sliced up an entire large cut of beef and put the thin strips into a large bowl to marinate.
That was enough for at least seven or eight orders.
The key to making the stir-fry for Brother Fang Chang was high heat, plus a special way of cutting and dry-frying the line peppers.
With the experience from the first batch, and with his White Jade Hand skill still active, Su Chen finished this stir-fry in a mere fifteen minutes.
If the beef had been marinated in advance, he could have cut that time down even more!
Fang Chang held the freshly cooked beef. "Boss Su, forget about running a company! You should just run this food stall full-time!"
"Why?" Su Chen asked.
"Because that way, you can make me as much as I want to eat!"
Su Chen scoffed. "Get lost!"
Their relationship had gotten to the point where he could joke like that without worrying about Fang Chang getting angry.
In fact, he didn’t need to worry at all.
When Fang Chang heard Su Chen tell him to get lost, he just gave a cheerful "Alrighty!" and said, "Time to eat!"
Unsurprisingly, Zhan Yang immediately ordered another portion after he finished his. You had to hand it to them; those two were his best customers.
Ever since Delicious had opened, those two had been the biggest eaters.
Not only could they pack it away, but they could also afford it. No matter how expensive a dish was, they’d order it without batting an eye. They were true foodies, through and through.
A few of the young women running nearby stalls kept glancing over.
A group of girls who had set up their stalls together were huddled up, whispering.
"It smells amazing. Should we get some?"
"Let’s not. Don’t forget, we’re out here to make money, not spend it."
"There’s no rush. I don’t think the owner is leaving anytime soon. Let’s just wait until after ten, when the crowds die down. It’s about to get busy around here."
With a plan in mind, the girls dispersed and went back to their own stalls.
It was already getting late. Normally, the street would be getting crowded soon. It wouldn’t be a good look if customers showed up to buy things while they were busy stuffing their faces.
You had to give it to them, these girls had some willpower, not letting delicious food distract them from their goal.
Su Chen stood inside the food truck for a moment, noticing the foot traffic on the street wasn’t very heavy.
He wondered why Liu Shengnan and her team had chosen this spot.
Once things quieted down, Su Chen grabbed an ice pop from the fridge and started eating it leisurely. He had to admit, this one-yuan, old-fashioned ice pop was actually delicious—way more satisfying than those "ice cream assassins" that cost a fortune.
"Boss, we’re not doing anything anyway. How about you make a portion for us?" He Shuting piped up, her mouth watering.
She stepped into the truck and started massaging Su Chen’s shoulders from behind.
"We already talked it over. Since it’s just for us, you don’t need to make separate orders. Just make one big batch for all of us to share! It’ll save you some trouble!"
Her technique changed from kneading to light chopping.
"Alright." Su Chen shoved the rest of the ice pop into his mouth, getting instant brain freeze. "Seeing as you’re so thoughtful, what spice level do you want?"
He Shuting’s face lit up. "Really? I like it mild! What about you guys? Sound off!"
"Mild!"
"Mild for me too!"
Bai Xiaobo chimed in, "Then I’ll have mild, too!"
"Get lost, you’re not getting any!"
Su Chen stood up and began chopping vegetables. Three mild orders he could handle in one batch, but any more than that would be pushing it.
Overcrowding the small wok would ruin the texture of the dish.
As Su Chen expertly roll-cut the line peppers and started to dry-fry them, Ling Shuyu took the initiative and paid 174 yuan using the QR code.
That was how things were done at Delicious—everyone was treated the same!

「Botanical Garden, Main Entrance」
A woman in a white baseball cap and tight athletic wear stood there with a pink whistle hanging around her neck. Her short-sleeved top featured a large logo, and the words printed conspicuously beneath it read: Su Xian Weight-Loss Training Camp.
Her outfit alone was enough to turn heads, to say nothing of her outstanding figure.
At five-foot-six, she was all legs. Her ankle-length athletic tights and form-fitting top only served to accentuate her nearly perfect figure.
Her upper body was full but not top-heavy; her lower body was curvy but perfectly proportioned.
Even the women who passed by couldn’t help but glance over.
’If only I had a body like that...’
You had to admit it: the best advertisement isn’t a bunch of fancy slogans, but the undeniable quality of the product itself. And a dazzling figure like hers, just standing there, was the ultimate proof.
