The Goddess Made A Mistake Again

Chapter 545 - Unusual Way to Issue a Challenge

  • Next Chapter

The past days vision breaks free as Rizer heard Henry speak again, "So except for the differing passion we have for fashion, we good?"

"What does it entail?" Rizer did not turn. He did not recognise the meaning, focusing his thoughts mostly on the upcoming battles as he held the sword, scrutinising every detail.

"I’m talking about Margaret. The fact that I’m now about to marry her. We both came to the conclusion that marrying each other would be beneficial."

"For you, I believe." Rizer answered bluntly, "I am not going to interfere on this wedding. If she has chosen you by her own will, I will not stand against it. In my opinion, Margaret Religias was one of the viable options for a partner for me, but not the most thoughtful and is quite brutish, from what I hear." He stopped what he was doing, looked back at Henry and turned back again while muttering, "Which can only be a positive for your standards."

Henry’s mouth cracked a small smile, ’Is that his way of throwing an English jab at me?’

"Ah, so the rumours were wrong. You’re not as uptight and obnoxious others say, and here I thought you would rip off your gloves and throw at me and call for a duel." For reasons untold, he felt some disappointment at Rizer’s ignorance to the matter.

"That exactly what I tend to do."

"What’s that?" Henry raise an eyebrow as Rizer gazed back at me, sharply.

"I am intent on proposing a duel. Since you have wronged me, it is my right to do so." He cracked his bare right hand, "But since I do not have a glove on me or near, I suppose this could do."

Henry didn’t know what he meant by that.

Suddenly, as if a wind, swept by flurrying storm arrives, it happened. In Henry’s vision, it felt as if an invisible, semi-transparent air struck him and instead of just passing by... it came like an unfathomable force, wanting to force him back. But instead, all it could do is sweep the hair and make him slip backwards.

"Huh" X2

They both had a chort. Henry, confused at what just happened and Rizer, couldn’t believe what had happened... or what didn’t.

’Ahh... So that’s what he meant.’ Knowledge flashed into my incomprehensible eyes as Henry understood it was his ability, Telekinesis and gazing at the ring, it only confirmed it as ring’s light dimmed.

’But it didn’t feel like telekinesis, kind of different.’ He calculated the previous moment, ’It felt like as some unseen, liquefied force trying to push me out of the way.’

"Unprecedented... I did not know my power would fail." Rizer muttered in slight disbelief. "No... it did not fail."

Rizer suddenly looked at him in a new light, "You resisted... and succeeded in doing so."

"I suppose, Margaret did not choose blindly nor a complete failure as her companion.

He chuckled at his failed attempt, "Sorry to disappoint, but it would take a lot more than that small breeze to throw me off!"

Rizer’s eyes widened at the words ’small breeze’ and took a cold sheen. Henry clicked my tongue at his reaction, ’That small detail might have more to his ability than it seems.’

"Confidence like that, is unfounded without true metal." Rizer raised his right hand in a cross angle before his chest. Once more, to his eyes, Henry saw that invisible yet semi-transparent web of liquefied object gathering around his hand and spinning rapidly.

"Nobody has what it takes to stand before the likes of me, and with this, you will not as well." With that, he struck.

If the slight breeze from before was just that, a breeze, this time it was absolutely different. It was blatantly obvious as the sweeping river of energy came at me with harrowing danger signs.

That was not something you take head on... unfortunately, this was a closed room and even though a door was there next to him, Henry wasn’t going to humiliate himself avoiding... whatever that shit is.

He swept his hand back, grabbing at the handle of his big block of a sword hanging over the back and pulled it forward. Immediately, slamming it inches down in to the ground, fuller part forward and crouching behind it.

The force hit hard from the front and even with the sword taking most of the brunt, he felt the remaining ones that didn’t cover his large body wash over him like a tidal wave. The force felt as if Henry was in deep underneath an ocean body. A pressure heavy all around pushing him back with a might that felt like tons on an average body.

The sword as always, proved how uncanny and durable it is as it stood its ground.

Rizer’s eyes widened like saucers. The previous deflection seemed like a fluke before. Now, as he used real strength in this attack and saw this foolish brute still not bent, the earlier fluke seemed to fade from his mind and the new thought only made his blood churn further.

He did not gain great respect, was repeatedly told how his future was measureless and proclaimed as one of the strongest was not just because of his family name was Dragonoir and his mother’s frightening reputation on the battlefield.

Rizer showed everyone why he deserved their respect, their admiration and worthy being called one of the ’strongest’. He earned all of it with his own strength and he was not going to let this muscle-head come out of Goddess-knows-where, steal his fiancé and walk away unhurt slandering him.

He pushed more strength and somehow yet, this fellow held on. Rizer saw how he held tightly to his sword, shielding himself with some difficulty but that was not enough, not even close! He was supposed to be on the floor, groaning, screaming out in pain, fear and making amends to him. Anyone else would have already been throwing back on the wall, already having a concussion or being insensible.

And it seemed the brute saw his irritation as he gave that god awful smirk.

"All out of air? You need to understand that it isn’t just about pushing and believe it would reach the deep end, you need to push-and-pull."

Rizer did not understand nor comprehend such retort, nonetheless it irked him as he knew it was thrown as vulgar words.

So, he pushed more and more and kept on increasing.

If Henry had confidence in handling his energy before, it was quickly draining away as the big black sword skidded backward, pulling apart solid concrete and kept pushing back until he felt his legs hitting its shin against the wall.

’With such powerful force pushing me back, I can’t hold on like this. I need to strike back before I lose ground. The problem is that this room is big but not big enough to have a fight between us.’ Henry saw Rizer’s hand shaking slightly as a glint flashed, ’He is continuously pushing forward than he should, isn’t he? If that’s right, then not only me but this rich asshole would be in trouble as well... and if he gets hurt then I’ll also have to answer to that bombshell mother of his! What a troublesome choice, but for that large of a butt, anything’s fair!’

Henry chose to finish this out by jumping forward and knocking him out. Quickly, a moment arrived and he saw Rizer’s hands shake and the force weaken for an instant. Henry jumped at the chance, but so did someone else.

The room’s temperature suddenly takes a sharp dive as both fighters get enveloped in bone-clenching frost.

"Both of you, That’s Enough!"
