Alexandre Song suddenly drove forward with the ball, delivering a through pass to the left side of the attacking half.

Wang Shuo quickly made a diagonal run behind the defense. After receiving the ball on the left edge of the penalty area, he used a sudden stop and feint to deceive center-back Dann. He then abruptly chopped the ball toward the byline with an explosive burst of speed, leaving Dann in the dust in an instant. Breaking into the left side of the box and facing Givet’s defense, Wang Shuo accelerated sharply again, gaining a step. He feigned a volley, tricking Givet into sticking a leg out to block it. In reality, it was a fake shot and a real pass; he slid the ball right between Givet’s legs, sending a low cross to the edge of the six-yard box.

Walcott rushed up and effortlessly side-footed the ball into the net.

2-0!

The Gunners were completely dominating Blackburn, pinning them back. In their first encounter at Ewood Park Stadium, the two sides had played out a 5-4 thriller, with the Gunners pulling off a hard-fought comeback. But half a year later, the entire Gunners squad was operating like a well-oiled machine. Blackburn, on the other hand, was deeply mired in the relegation zone. With two matches in a week, the team was physically exhausted. Coupled with the sudden drop in temperature, it seemed the Blackburn players couldn’t fully find their footing.

By the 16th minute, a direct free kick from Wang Shuo sent a cold sweat down the spines of everyone at Blackburn. The ball had barely grazed the crossbar as it went out for a goal kick. Still, Arsenal relentlessly organized their attacks, frequently creating shooting opportunities. Blackburn had absolutely no other choice but to defend passively. It wasn’t until the 31st minute that they made their first foray near the Gunners’ penalty area. However, the ball still couldn’t penetrate the box; it was headed back out by Subotic from the perimeter.

During this period, Arsenal actively generated attacks down both flanks, while Blackburn quickly adjusted their defense to contain the Gunners’ wing play. As a result, the entire formation was stretched wide open.

Then, in the 37th minute, after Arsenal successfully won the ball back near the halfway line, Alexandre Song drove forward and delivered another low, driving through pass. With Blackburn’s formation stretched, the gaps between their defenders had widened. Walcott swiftly made a diagonal dart behind Givet from the right side outside the box. Catching up to Alexandre Song’s through ball near the right byline, he squared it across the face of the goal with his first touch.

Wang Shuo quickly followed up and easily poked it into the net.

3-0!

He had scored a brace!

Just two minutes later, Arteta played a pass from the left side of the center circle, finding De Bruyne in the attacking half. After controlling the ball, the Belgium midfielder faced defensive pressure and was forced to turn and shield it before laying it off to Walcott on the right. The Little Tiger surged forward with the ball. Facing left-back Olsson, he took a few touches before passing it laterally to Wang Shuo near the final third.

It had to be said, though, that this pass was genuinely poor. Wang Shuo was already preparing to make a run forward, but Walcott played it directly to his feet. What was Wang Shuo supposed to do with that? With no other choice, he had to slam on the brakes, turn, trap the ball, and shield it first.

But in doing so, two holding midfielders and two center-backs swarmed him simultaneously.

Four-on-one!

Even if Wang Shuo were a god, he couldn’t break through that encirclement. However, someone had to make the first move. Petkovski rushed in first, attempting to win the ball.

With a masterful double-touch dribble, Wang Shuo slipped the ball past Petkovski. With his back to the attacking direction, he executed a sudden spin and threaded a left-footed through ball. After completing such an unorthodox movement, Wang Shuo completely lost his balance and crashed straight into the referee, Andre Marriner. But the ball had been played. Like a surgeon’s scalpel, it precisely sliced through Blackburn’s two defensive lines, landing on the left side of the penalty spot.

Hazard made a rapid diagonal run and unleashed a furious shot, piercing Blackburn’s goal once again.

4-0!

The entire Emirates Stadium erupted into a frenzy!

Everyone’s jaws dropped. Who could have imagined that the Gunners would unleash such a relentless wave of attacks throughout the first half! But Arsenal, playing like men possessed, showed no signs of stopping.

In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Wang Shuo picked up the ball on the right side of the attacking half and took on center-back Givet. As a result, having already been beaten, the Blackburn center-back lunged from behind in a sweeping scissors tackle, sending Wang Shuo and the ball flying.

"My God!

"That challenge from Givet was entirely reckless!

"It almost looks like intentional retaliation.

"Marriner is reaching for a card!

"We can see Wang Shuo has been brought down on the right flank and isn’t getting up.

"The referee has shown a straight red card!

"It must be said, that was far too reckless.

"Arsenal’s medical staff are rushing onto the pitch.

"Everyone is holding their breath right now. Wang Shuo should be okay, right?"

Wang Shuo had to be stretchered off the pitch. This left the Arsenal fans in the stands feeling incredibly anxious. He also saw Wenger on the sidelines, absolutely furious and screaming obscenities in sheer anger. The Professor was clearly seething!

By the time Wang Shuo was carried to the touchline, Wenger hurriedly ran over to check on his injury.

"His left foot was scraped by the studs—it’s another bloody gash. His right shin guard is completely shattered," a team doctor reported.

Seeing the wound on Wang Shuo’s left foot and the shattered pieces of the removed shin guard, Wenger felt a deep pang of bitterness in his heart.

"What a fucking bastard!" Wenger cursed again.

Since Arsenal had been awarded a free kick in the attacking half but stoppage time was already up, the first half ended immediately after the kick was taken. Wang Shuo wasn’t in a hurry. He let the team doctors treat him while he watched the rest of the match on the pitch.
