Chapter 723 - 133: A 17-Second Wonder Goal! Epic Comeback! Watch Out, Wang Shuo Is Here! We Witnessed a Miracle
"Wang Shuo falls to the ground, but he manages to kick the ball to Hazard on the left!
"Hazard initiates the attack, dribbling into the left side of Blackburn’s penalty area.
"Facing former Real Madrid defender Sergado, Hazard executes a series of feints, his body swaying constantly.
"He drives toward the byline—he can’t make the breakthrough—he cuts back and chips a right-footed cross into the center!
"Is anyone there?
"Pogba!
"A header!
"It’s in!!
"GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
"Arsenal scores again!
"Four to four!!!
"My God, I can hardly believe it!
"In the 89th minute, Arsenal has successfully leveled the score!
"The young substitute who just came on, Paul Pogba, ties it up for Arsenal with a header!
"This attacking opportunity was won by Wang Shuo in the final third.
"His teammates didn’t waste it. Hazard’s dribbling breakthrough and assist on the left wing were absolutely beautiful.
"In the crucial moment, the Arsenal players showcased their technical superiority.
"Both sides are back on level terms!
"We can see the fourth official on the sideline raising his board, indicating three minutes of stoppage time."
The Blackburn players were completely panicked. They were genuinely terrified, especially when they saw Wang Shuo—who had been on the ground outside the box just moments ago—scramble up, charge into the penalty area, fish the ball out of Blackburn’s net, and wave for his teammates to hustle back to their half!
Was this still the Arsenal they knew?
Wang Shuo, in particular, looked like a relentless demon clawing his way out of hell!
Insane! The Gunners’ players had completely lost their minds!
When the match restarted, the Blackburn players retreated entirely into defense. They packed themselves tightly inside and around their own penalty area, waiting in full force, swearing to defend the 4-4 scoreline. To them, a draw was already a victory.
Arsenal organized several consecutive attacks, but none were effective. The Blackburn bruisers practically wanted to stuff all their players right onto the goal line.
Time continued to slip away. The head referee, Andrew Marriner, started checking his watch incessantly.
Wang Shuo also realized that the match was about to end. He knew that if he stayed inside the penalty box, his teammates’ passing would never reach him. So, he quickly dashed out, running beyond the thirty-meter zone to receive the ball.
Control, turn.
Wang Shuo faced the direction of Blackburn’s goal. He extended his hand, constantly directing his teammates. De Bruyne ran into open space, Pogba held his position, and Hazard and Walcott prepared to make runs in behind. Everyone braced themselves.
When Wang Shuo’s raised right hand suddenly clenched into a fist, he exploded with power from his legs and rapidly charged forward with the ball.
He swiftly kicked the ball to Pogba, then bypassed a defender and darted forward to demand the return pass. Pogba used his body to hold off Nzonzi before laying it off, passing the ball back to Wang Shuo.
Before even touching the ball, Wang Shuo executed a feint that completely deceived the deep-lying midfielder, Lowe. With a nudge of his left foot, he surged forward, blowing past him.
But at that exact moment, substitute center-back Petkovski rushed up and forcefully barreled Wang Shuo to the ground.
The referee blew his whistle. Foul! Free kick!
The stadium erupted with the cheers of Blackburn fans. They had pulled off another brilliant defensive play! At the very least, they had stopped Wang Shuo’s dribbling breakthrough.
Wang Shuo had no time to care about anything else. He scrambled up from the ground, placed the ball down carefully, and slowly backed up.
The spot was about twenty meters away from the goal, dead center.
Blackburn arranged all the tallest players on their team into the defensive wall. The Arsenal players, one by one, ran over to high-five Wang Shuo.
Once the wall was set and everyone was in position, Wang Shuo took a deep breath.
The moment Marriner blew his whistle, Wang Shuo started his rapid run-up.
When he reached the ball at top speed, he planted his right foot firmly, leaned his body, and whipped his left foot through the ball.
Everyone in the stadium only heard a muffled THUD. The ball exploded off Wang Shuo’s foot at a speed almost imperceptible to the naked eye. It cleared the top of the high-jumping wall, dipped drastically, and squeezed into the Blackburn goal, practically brushing the top-left corner of the woodwork.
"GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
"A spectacular stoppage-time winner!!
"We have just witnessed a tremendous miracle!
"It’s simply unbelievable!
"From trailing 2-4, they chased it all the way down to a 5-4 comeback!
"In just a short span of eight minutes, the Gunners have scored three consecutive goals to complete a miraculous turnaround!
"This is absolutely beyond belief!
"Wang Shuo has completed his hat-trick!
"This is a mental fortitude that words cannot describe!
"Wang Shuo has ignited this entire team once again!" the commentator roared at the top of his lungs.
On the sidelines, Wenger did something incredibly rare—he dashed out of the technical area, leaping into the air to celebrate. When he landed, he covered his face with his hands and wept.
He had already given up! He had thought his team was doomed to lose! But Wang Shuo had dragged him and Arsenal right back from the gates of hell!
The Arsenal players sprinted madly toward Wang Shuo. One by one, they piled onto him, burying him at the bottom of the heap. Even the players from the bench rushed over to join the fray.
Wang Shuo lay face up on the muddy pitch, letting his teammates crush him in celebration.
He noticed that, at some unknown point, the rain had stopped.
A faint ray of sunlight had fought with all its might to pierce through the thick clouds, cascading down upon the field.
He smiled.
