THE GOD EATER

The aquatic creatures couldn’t hear the loud beats of the sound blasters because their brains and internal organs were liquified on contact before boiling without heat. They simply didn’t have the brain capacity to process the sound because the sound had processed their brain matter into sludge.

The only enemies who could hear the sound of the sound blasters were the ones who were too far away and didn’t die instantly. But this didn’t mean that they wouldn’t die.

The shockwaves created by the sound blasters can still batter, cripple, smash, and injure obstacles that they encounter. Some powerful creatures could survive these far-traveling shockwaves, but only divine beings could survive being close to the sound blasters.

As Loki watched with pride, he saw the ocean forced to boil, burn, explode, and evaporate against its will and against the natural behavior of water.

Of course, if the water was being beaten out of shape by this much, none of the creatures within the water could fare better. When staying alive became an impossible mission for them to accomplish, there was no way they could reach the invaders and kill them.

So thanks to the summoning of troops by Nether Flame and Loki, the storm of attacks by the inhabitants of the world didn’t affect the outpost in any way.

If anything, the frenzied attack of various kinds of creatures only served to deliver resources to the metal bees, which helped the outpost grow faster.

By Loki’s conservative estimates, the growth rate of the outpost core had increased by 50%. So it should have taken 90 days to complete its growth stage, but it will now take 60 days.

This made Loki think to himself with pride, ’And I achieved this without the help of Money Body. Who is impressive now?’

After gloating, he glanced at Money Body and thought to himself, ’Speaking of which, why hasn’t he activated that Money Enhancement Metac of his to increase the power of our troops. Has he lost it, or does he not have the divine merit points to use them?’

Then he snickered inwardly as he thought, ’Surely, he couldn’t be withholding his power because he doesn’t like my ant drones. That would be too petty of him.’

’Someone of his rank should be able to prioritize the greater good above his personal feelings of hatred and dislike. Then again, he did sabotage the mission last time, so what do I know?’

While he was amusing himself, Money Body finally made a decision about what he had been thinking about. He turned to them and said, ’I have a plan.’

Immediately, Loki heard those words, his heart sank, and he thought, ’Oh no. Not again.’

Without hearing what Money Body had to say, he made up his mind, thinking, ’Nothing he will say will convince me to leave this outpost core. If he wants me to go somewhere to fight some dragons, he will have to take me there himself.’

Meanwhile, Money Body said, "I was thinking of ways to increase our chances of success. Everything I thought about all boiled down to eliminating the dragons."

"It is no brainer that if we kill one or two dragons, the success of this mission would be assured. It is also clear that the dragons are wary of us. So I thought that we should take the fight to them.’

At this point, Loki appeared calm on the surface, but his calmness was a pretense. If he were truly calm, he would only be as calm as the surface of an ocean before a raging storm.

His true feelings were one of stubbornness and the determination to fight Money Body if he must. He had heard talks like this before, and he had fallen for it, but he was determined not to let that happen again.

So while his face was calm, inwardly he was gritting his teeth while thinking, ’During the first attempt, he at least waited a month before he sent us to die. It hasn’t even been a day this time around. Has the fourth Divine Position made him that cocky and impatient to get rid of us?’

Then he heard Money Body shake his head and say, "After thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that it was a bad idea to go chasing after them."

"After all, our goal is to establish the outpost and protect it until it is done maturing. If we chase the dragons, they might lure us away while they destroy this outpost core."

"In light of this, I came up with a better plan to make them come to us instead of going after them. In order to achieve this plan, I think we should speed up the growth of the outpost core."

"The sooner the outpost is set up, the earlier we can complete the mission. So if you have world essence and want to leave the mission early, you should donate it now for the mission."

While he was still speaking, he had already taken out some world essence from his Cave Heaven. What he took out was a golden stone.

As soon as the golden stone appeared, the metal bees swarmed it. They rushed over to the golden stone and buzzed with excitement to tell other bees that they had found something good.

The metal bees gathered quickly and ate up the golden stone in just seven seconds. When they were done, a stone the size of a fist was gone. What was left was multicolored dust that reminded Loki of the material that rank 4 cultivators needed to advance to rank 5.

After the metal bees were done eating, they went over to the white gem to regurgitate what they had eaten onto it. This time, the resulting growth was vastly more than the combined growth that had taken place in the last four minutes.

In fact, the growth of the white crystal because of the world essence was 1,080 times greater than the growth caused by the bees foraging for resources in the last four minutes. So Loki estimated that the world essence had saved them three days of time.
