THE GOD EATER

Chapter 616: How To Share?

The enslavement cultivator also laughed and said, “All of that talking for something that you could have said in one sentence. And they say you don’t like talking? I find that difficult to believe. I think it is more likely that you like being mysterious and enjoy keeping us in suspense.”

In response, Monarch Eye Tracker shrugged and said, “I said so right from the start.”

The way he shrugged was odd since Monarch Eye Tracker’s torso was actually an eye. His arms and legs were connected to the eye.

He didn’t have a head, lips, or nostrils either. All he had was a giant eye and sole limbs.

No one thought that what he said about how the world used to be here contained enough information to clue them into the fact that he needed time to recover the dragon’s trail. But no one wanted to argue with him.

However, the more they thought about what he said, the more they realized that what he had said contained more information. Especially about the world that used to be here.

After thinking about it, one of the warriors asked Monarch Eye Tracker, “How long have we been chasing this dragon? Hasn’t it been 25 minutes? So are you saying that the dragon came all the way to this small world and destroyed it all in 25 minutes?”

Monarch Eye Tracker simply shrugged and said, “There used to be a world here.”

Since he wasn’t going to be helpful, they decided to ignore him and talk among themselves.

The mind hunter clicked his tongue before saying in admiration, “This dragon is truly strong. Not only can it resist a powerful curse, but it also has spare power to destroy a small world.”

The death cultivator, who was the one who had failed to curse the dragon, snorted and said, “I bet he destroyed the small world to make up for the lifespan that he is losing to the curse.”

The enslavement cultivator nodded and said in agreement, “It should have been on its last legs. But the heart of this small world is sure to have replenished its lifespan.”

The mind hunter looked around curiously for a while before saying, “Where is the remnant of the small world, though? So the dragon took the heart of the world to replenish its lifespan, but where is the rest of the world?”

After hearing this question, the money cultivator ground his teeth and said in anger, “There should indeed be an empty, hollow world here or even some debris from a destroyed world, but who cares about that?”

It was a rhetorical question as Forced Exchange had already moved on to say, “What matters now is how lucky that dragon is to encounter a random small world on its way to escape. The second thing that matters is what I will do when I get that dragon. When I get it, I will make sure it coughs up every ounce of damage that it inflicted on us.”

One of the warriors heard this and snorted as he said, “You will have to wait until we are done with him first. We didn’t kickstart this pursuit just so that we can hand the dragon over to you.”

Another warrior nodded and said in agreement, “We get the dragon first.”

In response, Forced Exchange sneered and said, “Since when have things been distributed based on who deserved it? I say that we fight for it. Whoever has the biggest fist will get to decide what we do with the dragon.”

The enslavement cultivator smiled and said, “That sounds like a good idea. Might makes right.”

He agreed that they should fight for the dragon because he belongs to an alliance and has surrendered his Cave Heaven to the leader of their alliance, so he can use the power of the combined Cave Heaven, not the power of his original, smaller Cave Heaven.

This arrangement has given him an advantage in power that independent divine beings who haven’t surrendered their Cave Heaven don’t have. So he wants to use that advantage in power to secure more benefits.

He and Forced Exchange are of one mind in this aspect. They are confident in their strength, so they want to fight.

The warriors aren’t going to back down either. In fact, they are willing to fight for the dragon if only for the fact that they get to fight strong people.

Warriors are not ones to back down from a fight. The reputation they will gain from fights will ensure that even if they die, their position as divine beings will be there waiting for them. So they are more carefree about fighting and won’t be intimidated because they are not part of an alliance.

What’s more, the four of them are part of an alliance, so not only are they not at a disadvantage in terms of power, but they also have the advantage in numbers. This has made them very eager to fight.

Because they refused to back down on what they would do with the dragon, the two sides began to argue and threaten each other about what they would do to each other once a fight started.

Their argument wasn’t a loud one, though. They didn’t raise their voice at each other. They only made calm and bone-chilling claims of how they would tear flesh away from where the flesh should be.

The mind hunter didn’t want the dragon for anything and had only come sightseeing, so he decided to speak up to mediate between the two sides.

The mind hunter said, “There is no need to fight yet. Let’s get the dragon first before we start lunging for each other’s throats.”

“There is also the possibility that the dragon is going back to its home world. If it has a home world, it is going to be a large world. That large world should have other dragons and should be big enough for all of you to share.”
