THE GOD EATER

Because of the two thick layers of walls, the attacking aquatic creatures were forced to go over the wall to reach the divine beings and the outpost core. But the shield drones were there to destroy anything that came close, while the flying drones flew around to serve as support for the defenders.

The strength of the drones was impressive, but the most impressive aspect they possessed was their perfect coordination. They didn’t act independently. Every single action of theirs was made in tandem and with the support of nearby drones.

Sometimes, a drone will leave an enemy half dead and leave to attack another enemy. This was usually because another drone was better suited to kill the enemy.

This usually happened because of the need for laser guns to cool down before they can shoot again. The first drone would let its laser cool down instead of continuing to try to kill the enemy at the risk of overheating the laser.

Fortunately, there was another drone nearby that had just killed an enemy and had a laser that wasn’t at risk of overheating. So the first drone would take a break while the second drone would finish the enemy off.

Because of this seamless coordination, the drones were able to maintain a perfect formation. They knew when to focus on a particularly difficult enemy and would not let any enemy go, only for that enemy to walk right into a metal projectile smashing into their face and electrocuting them.

This perfect coordination was all because all of the drones were connected to Hammock’s mind. By using the Hive Mind Metac, Hammock can control all of them easily and make them act as one giant organism.

When the other divine beings saw what Loki had summoned, they were stunned. Unfortunately for them, the ongoing battle didn’t let them indulge their shock. They had to get over their shock quickly so that they wouldn’t get distracted or get carried away.

Nether Flame got over his shock and sighed that Loki was lucky in making connections with resourceful and rich people. Any Hill, on the other hand, became intensely jealous of Loki’s luck in connections.

As for Money Body, the man laughed and said, “Look at this. It seems you’ve been hiding from me.”

Then he shook his head and said, “If you had mentioned this to me earlier, I would have changed our plans. Maybe we wouldn’t be acting all cautious like this.”

As he spoke, he activated the Money Enhancement Metac and used it to enhance the 200 new rank 6 drones. He did so with a smile on his face.

From his appearance, Money Body looked genuinely glad that Loki had this many helpers. But Loki wasn’t sure if these were his true feelings or not. He wasn’t about to let himself be fooled into thinking Money Body wouldn’t try to kill him.

Monarch Money body continued to activate various kinds of Divine Metacs. These Divine Metacs did different things, but they had one thing in common, and that was that they were not a part of his three main rank 8 Divine Metacs.

Since Money Body was the leader of an alliance, it was clear to Loki where he was getting the extra Divine Metacs. After figuring out why Money Body could use Divine Metacs that he didn’t possess Divine Positions for, Loki began wondering how many Divine Metacs in total Money Body possessed and if Money Body could use them together for an ultimate attack.

He was particularly concerned about whether Money Body could combine the Divine Metacs of the alliance members that had surrendered to him with the Divine Metacs of his three Divine Positions, as that would determine just how strong Money Body was.

So while they were defending the outpost core, he quickly split his attention to ask Hammock if surrendered Divine Metacs could be fused together. Hammock’s answer made him relax considerably.

He also didn’t summon his Cave Heaven to fight with it for fear of exposing its contents to people with a higher Insight stat who are close to him.

Fortunately, he didn’t need to participate directly in the fight. The 300 drones he had released were doing very well without him. Unless he decided to spend his lifespan to activate his Divine Metac, using his Cave Heaven to fight wouldn’t make much of a difference.

Since he didn’t need to participate directly in the fight, he had the opportunity to relax and think about some things. Unfortunately, there was nothing helpful for him to think about.

The main thing that kept coming to his mind was how much he was losing by not using the Devour Ability to fight. He couldn’t help but think about this because there was so much around him that he could eat.

What he really wanted to do was blanket the entire area with the devouring forcefield. But he didn’t want to expose that ability of his, so he went with the lesser evil, which is summoning more drones to increase his contribution and increase the amount of divine merit points that he will earn after the mission is completed.

Since he couldn’t do what he wanted, he went with second best. He thought that he could handle the fallout of producing more drones than showing that he could devour everything.

Meanwhile, the fighting continued to rage all around him. The inhabitants of Oceania had lost their minds, and what little was left of their minds was made up on killing the invaders if it is the last thing they will do.

They didn’t aquatic creatures didn’t back down when one million of them died. They didn’t give up either when the casualty reached 1 billion. And even when the number of the dead reached 500 billion, they were still fighting.

This stalemate continued for a month before something changed on the battlefield. When this change occurred, Loki and the others didn’t notice it. Only Money Body noticed it.
