Chapter 589: Very Perceptive.
Now that he knows that the size of Money Body’s Cave Heaven is 2,843 million square kilometers, it is easy for him to calculate how wide Money Body’s range of perception is.
A quick calculation showed that Money Body could see nearly everything within 53,320 meters of his position. This distance is 2.19 times the diameter of the Earth in his past life.
So if four Earths were placed on Money Body’s left in a straight line and another four Earths were placed on his right in a straight line, he would be able to perceive everything going on in the eight Earths at the same time.
In comparison, the range of his perception is 12,083. That is not enough to cover the diameter of the Earth. He would actually have to step onto Earth before he could see everything going on in it. He can’t put on Earth beside him and see everything going on within it.
This series of mental calculations made him shake his head and say. ’With that kind of perception, I won’t be surprised if he can see the whole of Oceania at a glance.’
Just as he was busy thinking, Money Body sent a message to everyone. The money cultivator chuckled and said, “The dragons are getting restless. They have begun to test the range of my perception. So it seems they are planning to make a move.”
His voice was jovial as he said, “This is so strenuous. I have to pretend that I am weak so that the dragon king will get overconfident. But I also have to show enough strength so that the dragon king won’t get too cocky and attack me outright.”
From the way he spoke, it was clear that he wasn’t taking the threat of the dragons seriously. Loki didn’t know if this was the truth or whether Money Body was putting on a show of false bravado. But he couldn’t help but feel relaxed, too.
Since Money Body sounded confident in dealing with the dragon king, he thought that he didn’t have anything to worry about from the dragon king.
When he thought of the dragon King, he also chuckled as he said to himself, ’It doesn’t even matter if Money Body can truly handle the dragon king or is lying because there is nothing I can do about the dragon king either way.’
’What I should be concerned about right now is that so-called plan of his. That’s something that will affect me the most and should be taken seriously, if only for the fact that it will determine if the strongest member of my team wants me dead.’
For now, things looked peaceful. The metal bees were buzzing and collecting resources peacefully. Only the world around them was far from peaceful.
The tsunamis had stopped, but the storm had only gotten worse. And the storm wasn’t showering them with rain at all. Rain was pouring down from the sky as if someone had opened a dam in the clouds.
As rain poured down, the water level rose. So in just one hour, the island had become submerged.
This level of water wasn’t a problem for them since they could fly and escape from the water. But now that the outpost core had been set up, they couldn’t leave the island.
They have to stay back to protect the outpost core. This has become imperative now that the creatures in the water can easily reach the outpost core to destroy it.
Now that the outpost core had become open to attacks, the four of them got to work setting up their defenses. Since the metal bees need access to the outpost core, they couldn’t seal off the outpost core completely just to prevent enemies from reaching it.
Nether Flame started the defense by summoning some undead from his Cave Heaven. He opened a passage from his Cave Heaven and let the undead come pouring out of it.
There was nothing special about the summoned undead. The strongest of them was rank 5 at most. But there were plenty of the undead, and they could form an army around the outpost core.
Ant Hill made a move next. She released a lot of ants from her body. These ants were all rank 5, and there were some of them at rank 6 that could use the power of her Cave Heaven.
Most of the ants could fly, so they were tasked with flying above the undead and preventing anything from going over them. Since the ants were also smaller than the undead, they could weave through the tiny spaces between the undead to help attack any enemy.
Loki made a move next. No one asked him to do so, but he did so anyway. This was because the defense would count towards his contribution to the success of the mission.
In this mission, the more enemies he kills, the higher his reward will be. Divine beings that he kills will grant him a base amount of divine merit points. While mortal enemies won’t grant him any divine merit points when killed, killing him will still count towards his contribution.
After the mission is done, his reward will be determined with his contribution percentage acting as a bonus payment. So if he earned a thousand divine merit points killing divine points and has a total contribution of 30%, he will be given a bonus of 300 divine merit points.
This arrangement makes it so that the total contribution of the team can only amount to 100%. Therefore, everyone has to fight for this limited pool if they want to increase their bonus reward.
This is why Nether Flame and Ant Hill began summoning an army for the defense of the outpost core, even though no one asked them to. It is also why they would have preferred that Loki not try to help with the defense.
Unfortunately for them, it didn’t matter what they preferred about the defense of the outpost.
