Chapter 431: Unexpected Outcome.

As usual, people tattled on him. So, few minutes into attacking the city, the golden divine being arrived. While Loki was contending with him, the vessels of Fenrir had combined into one giant beast with a power output of 19 million units.

Then Loki struck the Cave Heaven of the golden divine being. But he didn’t use the Lightning Engine Metac for this attack. So the attack was still a red energy ball, but there was no lightning in it.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to kill the golden divine being. The golden divine being was injured, but he didn’t die, and he was able to escape.

Loki couldn’t tell where he had gone wrong because he couldn’t see what was happening within the Cave Heaven with his attack. He could only give up with regret and reverse time so that he could give it another try.

The next time he attacked the Cave Heaven, he used the Lightning Engine Metac. But he didn’t use the Bleed Metac of the Killing Pathway.

But this configuration still failed to kill the golden divine being. When the divine being realized that he had made a mistake, he immediately ran away in defeat, and Loki couldn’t get to him.

This frustrated Loki so much that he reversed time and used the combination of the Lightning Engine Metac, the Splitting Edge Divine Metac, and the Bleed Metac. He wanted to kill the divine being and eat him before his body exploded.

His plan was to have Fenrir swallow him before he explodes, so that when the golden crystal appears, it will appear inside Fenrir’s stomach. That way, Fenrir can just digest it directly.

Fenrir liked this plan as it involved eating, but Loki suspected that this plan was likely to fail. According to his estimates, Fenrir was going to explode when the golden crystal appeared within him.

But as it turned out, he was wrong to believe this. This didn’t mean that his plan succeeded, though. His plan still failed, but it failed because of something he didn’t expect.

His plan failed right from the start because the divine being didn’t die. The red lightning was successful in hitting and entering the Cave Heaven, but it failed to kill the divine being as it did last time. This made Loki realize that things were more complicated than he expected.

He tried again to replicate the instance where he killed the golden divine being with his red lightning. Since he had a perfect memory, he remembered exactly what he did, and he did it to kill the red ball of lightning.

By replicating his actions, he hoped to replicate those feet. Unfortunately, he couldn’t replicate that situation exactly because he could only control himself, not everyone else.

He could control everything he did to the letter, including where he was standing in the air, where he was looking, the timing of his attack, and the posture of his attack. But he couldn’t control how the vessels of Fenrir behaved or how the two rank 5 cultivators reacted to the vessels of Fenrir.

The vessels of Fenrir were chaotic and roamed everywhere randomly. Their behavior affected how chaotic they made the city, which in turn affected the time that the rank 5 cultivators appeared, and their position when the two rank 5 cultivators appeared was usually different with each iteration.

The two rank 5 cultivators were always afraid when they saw Fenrir, but depending on the time of their arrival, their fear could be mild or excessive. If they arrive early, the vessels will be weaker, so their fear would be milder. But if they arrive late, Fenrir will be stronger, and their fear will be excessive.

Sometimes, they got so afraid that the two of them contacted their divine being at the same time. The urgency of the two of them made the divine being appear early and always in a different position.

All of the variables made it difficult for Loki to replicate the great feat, even after trying 8 more times with the ball of red lightning. At the end of the day, he gave up and decided to do something more useful with his time.

As he flew back through the River of Time, he said, “The main problem is that I don’t know how he died in the first place. If I knew exactly what happened, I could try to replicate it better.”

“As far as I can tell, that attack succeeded because of a fluke. Apparently, an attack of nearly 68.5 million units is not nearly enough to kill a divine being in a normal situation.’ If there is a glaring reason why he didn’t die, it is the fact that he was able to use his Divine Metac after my attack.’

’During my first successful attempt, he wasn’t able to use his Divine Metac at all. But he was always able to use it later on when I used the red ball of lightning. So I must have done something to prevent him from using his Divine Metac in the first successful attempt.’

’My best guess is that the red lightning struck something that was needed for him to use his Divine Metac, or outright destroyed the Divine Metac early on during my first successful attempt. Unfortunately, I can’t confirm or disprove this hypothesis because I can’t see what’s going on in his Cave Heaven.’

After grumbling about it some more, he shrugged and said, ’Forget it. It is not as if I can get his divine position even if he dies. That red lightning would always destroy his Divine Metac if it succeeds in killing him.’

’So I am better off trying to create my own divine position. In that case, what I should do now is find a small world and use its living heart to elevate myself.’

He already has a small world in mind to use for this project. In fact, he has two small worlds that he can use.
