Chapter 422: Stomach Upheaval.
On his way to the past through the River of Time, he grumbled and said, “Why does every divine being always try to use their Cave Heaven to suppress me? Don’t they know that what they are doing is cheating?”
Then he snorted and said, “I bet they won’t like it if someone throws a mountain at their face like they like to do.”
He was grumbling about the tactics that divine beings always use from the start to attack him, but he didn’t let this distract him from what he wanted to do.
His plan is to reverse time to a few minutes before the divine being appeared and use that time to retrieve all of the vessels of Fenrir that he released into the wild before escaping himself. So he didn’t hesitate to plunge down from the River of Time a few moments later.
The tumbling he experienced during the first time took place again. It felt as if he was falling down a flight of stairs before landing face-first into the ground. The experience wasn’t as painful as it was disorienting.
When he came to, he had just left the awakening hall. Muni was even right beside him.
Muni was immediately startled when he sensed a powerful sensation coming from Loki’s body. He literally jumped away from Loki like a cat that had been startled.
Loki himself didn’t have time to bother with him because his stomach felt queasy and his vision was swooning. He quickly began to sway and had to sit down to prevent himself from falling over.
As he sat on the stone, he heaved and vomited everything he had in his stomach. Not even his stomach acid was spared. Things were so bad that his small intestines also wanted to come up through his stomach and throat.
He spent a few minutes enduring this experience. It was very bad for him, but it wasn’t pleasant for Muni either. Muni was nerve-wrecked during the whole process for fear of being blamed for whatever was happening.
But Loki didn’t blame him after he got his bearings. He couldn’t be bothered because he had a lot more important things on his mind.
After standing up, he had Muni lead him to the market on the sect grounds. When they got there, he borrowed money and gambled it to earn more.
While he was doing the things he needed to do, he thought about why he had experienced the disorientation again. This was a dead end because the Power Identification Ability showed that his state was identical to what it was in the previous timeline.
The fact that he had appeared too far back into the past than what he originally intended also made the situation murkier. So he quickly reached a dead end in that line of enquiry. Since he couldn’t find the answers he was looking for, he decided to give some thought to his loss in the previous timeline.
As he thought of all of the large white dogs that he had left behind, he chuckled and said, ’Talk about a classic case of biting more than one can chew. I literally couldn’t chew what I had bitten because I had gone too far.’
After all of that killing and eating that Fenrir indulged in, his Power Core Stat is still 10 units. This is because he didn’t have the opportunity to recover the vessels of Fenrir and fuse them back with his existence.
So all of the power that the vessels had acquired had gone to waste because of the appearance of that divine being. But he doesn’t think that all of the time he spent acquiring the power was a waste because the experience taught him some valuable lessons.
He nodded to himself and said inwardly, ’At least, I now know when to stop. That counts for a lot for half an hour of work.’
After he was done in the market, Muni took him for registration. Once he got his token, he went to the central market to gamble some more and buy some of the things he needed.
He didn’t try to reach out to Amelia this time around or sign up for any Earthly Battlefield. In fact, he didn’t sign up for the Heavenly Battlefield either. His goal was only about maximizing the next hour or so.
So after he bought the things that he could buy, he immediately went to the edge of the city. This time, he released the vessels of Fenrir in a semi-circular pattern around the perimeter of the city in such a way that everyone escaping can only escape in the direction of the sect grounds.
As usual, the appearance of the all-consuming beasts threw the city into chaos. People began to panic when they saw people and buildings disappear down the throats of what appeared to be cute, fluffy dogs.
When the inhabitants of the city saw who was responsible for the attack, they could hardly believe their eyes. No one who saw the puppies would have thought them capable of such carnage. It was truly a case of not judging a book by its cover.
But as if things were not bad enough, they got worse when Loki took to the air, dropping more puppies to the ground and shooting the people trying to escape from anywhere that wasn’t in the direction of the sect grounds.
He only allowed people to escape into the sect grounds and didn’t attack the sect grounds at all. As for why he did this, it soon became clear when the space in the sect grounds became full, and everyone who had entered the sect grounds became trapped.
When he saw that his plan had worked, he smiled and said, “Like rats caught in a barrel.”
Then he produced another vessel of Fenrir, which he dropped into the sect grounds. He also created another vessel at the entrance of the sect grounds. So there was no escaping for everyone who had been trapped in the sect grounds.
