Chapter 420: More And Bigger Debt.
Chapter 420: More And Bigger Debt.
His Cave Heaven will be a physical object, so it should be able to carry physical things. But he is not sure that Fenrir will be able to accommodate his Cave Heaven at all because it is a physical object.
This uncertainty bothered him a little bit because it meant that he might not be able to carry his cultivation with him when he reverses time in the future as a divine being. But it was a side effect he was willing to bear if he could increase his lifespan.
As he was thinking to himself, he made sure to shoot down anyone who so much as rose into the air or reached the city wall in the opposite direction.
There were a lot of people doing this, and the two rail guns became insufficient to suppress everyone. So he created four more arms and turned all of them into Gatling guns.
At this point, he didn’t care if they would die or not. He only cared if they would stay in the city or not.
So his highest priority was to prevent them from escaping. After all, dead or alive, half bread was better than none. This made it so that not only were white beasts chasing them from behind, but a man with guns was also chasing them.
His resolve to keep them here at all costs, and his actions to make it so quickly, plunged the city into more chaos. This time, there was blood everywhere because he was playing with the food, not directly eating it.
As he shot down people and as Fenrir ate more and more people, he received notifications from the sect. The notifications were all about how much he would pay for everyone he was killing.
People were dying by the droves, but the sect didn’t appear to be willing to do anything to stop him. It seemed they were content to saddle him with more and more debt.
However, as laid back as the Four Directions Sect seemed about the massacre of a city, he knew that the Four Directions Sect wasn’t toothless or helpless to stop him. He knew that if he didn’t pay his debt, the Four Directions Sect would come after him with fury, and not even death would save him.
But he didn’t concern himself about what the sect would do in one month when he didn’t have their money for them. For now, what he tried to do was stop as many people from escaping as much as he could.
While shooting people, he also made sure to continue producing more vessels for Fenrir. This way, the number of the gluttonous Fenrir was increasing while the number of people was steadily decreasing.
He was doing this when he spotted Skarg and Slav among the crowd of people escaping with the crowd of people. The two of them were on foot like ordinary people, and he would have missed them if he hadn’t marked Slav earlier in the day when he awakened.
Skarg was wearing a blanket that covered most of his body and had Slav in his embrace. He used the blanket to hide his identity even though Slav told him that he didn’t have anything to worry about.
Skarg’s idea was to hide somewhere in a basement and wait for all of this to be over. But Slav had insisted that staying in the city was more dangerous than trying to escape now.
If anyone else had said this, Skarg wouldn’t have believed them. But Slav had revealed the Fortune Seeker Metac earlier, so he trusted Slav’s judgment.
As it turned out, Slav was right. The two of them mixed in with the crowd, and even when Loki spotted them, he didn’t shoot them.
Loki sneered at the sight and said, “What a pair of loving father and son. I bet the father doesn’t know that his son is taking him to his death.”
He doesn’t know how exactly Skarg will die or the identity of who will kill Skarg, but he knows that Skarg will enter that cave and vanish. Then the mark on Skarg’s body will turn into a seal.
The seal will seal his Core Metac and energy well. That is something that only happens when someone dies. So he is sure that Skarg will die, and he is also sure that Skarg’s death will have something to do with Slav.
But he didn’t plan to interfere with these turn of events, so he let them go. As for everyone else, he shot down as many of them as he could.
When the people of the city realized that things were very bad, they began reaching out to powerful people for help. They contacted anyone they could to come and help them, so the news that someone was attacking a city was spreading quickly.
The fact that some people still escaped from the city despite his best efforts also made it easier for the news of the attack to disseminate. Soon, many people were talking about the attack.
However, most people only found the news to be interesting. It was either that or they were scared. Not many people had it in mind to come over to stop him.
Since the sect didn’t issue a mission to stop the massacre, there was very little motivation to get involved in a matter that didn’t concern them. Only the people who had loved ones in the city or thought themselves powerful enough to save some people came over to stop him.
Some people came to stop him, but no one came to join him to attack the city. Everyone who came only did so to stop him.
He didn’t care much that he had no helpers and even welcomed the troublemakers with open arms. He killed everyone who thought themselves strong enough to stop him and fed them to Fenrir.
Many rank 4 cultivators were the first to come because they didn’t know his cultivation level.
