Chapter 418: Cute Puppies.

When he saw his stats, he raised his eyebrow and said, ’Interesting. Very interesting.’

He was impressed by what he saw simply because his Mind and Soul Stat ought to be 1.5 units each, since technically, he hasn’t had time to strengthen them. But now, both of them are 5 units each.

The rest of his stats appear to be behaving normally. His current body is still the weak mortal flesh that he used to join the Four Directions Sect. Only his Mind and Soul Stat look out of place.

This made him smile and say to himself, ’It seems I won’t have to spend money to strengthen my mind and soul again. This is good. In fact, it is very good, but is this why I felt queasy and vomited earlier?’

’Is the disparity between the mind and soul of my previous self the reason for the queasiness. Or is it just because my future self possesses a Mental World while my previous one didn’t?’

Since he couldn’t figure it out, he shrugged and said, ’We will see if it happens next time. The conditions then should surely be different, so maybe I can use the differences in my condition next time to pinpoint the source of the anomaly.’

As he was saying this, he continued his journey to the central market. He went there to buy some of the Branch Metacs he was in need of that the market had in supply.

The limited supply of the market in the city meant he could get up to rank 4 Branch Metacs for the Forging Pathway and the Mind Hunter Pathway. As for the Killing Pathway and the Strength Pathway, he could only get Branch Metacs for them up to rank 3.

The disparity in ranks of the available Branch Metacs was because the demand for the Branch Metacs of the Killing Pathway and the Strength Pathway was poor. After all, this was the Four Directions Sect, not the Sword Way Sect or the Martial Body.

It was already a good thing that he could get some of the things that he needed here, so Loki couldn’t complain. After he bought what he could buy, he decided to leave the central market.

According to his original plan, he was to go to the barracks in the sect grounds to wait for the airship that would take him to the Earthly Battlefield tomorrow. He planned to go to the Earthly Battlefield to meet Amelia.

In fact, he had already made a deal with Amelia to help her conquer the battlefield. But since he doesn’t need her help anymore and because he can now somewhat control how far he can go into the past when he reverses time, he decided to change his plans.

Because of the change of plans, instead of going to the sect grounds, he decided to go to the edge of the city. This was because those who live at the edge of the city would be the weakest in the city and unable to interfere with what he wanted to do.

So he passed the seven rings of streets and roads until he reached the city wall. When he reached the edge of the city, he found a corner to stand in. Then he put his second skin into an overactive state.

He urged his second skin to get to work producing far more metal than he needed to cover his body. This caused spherical tumors to grow all over his body.

After the balls grew big enough, he let them drop to the ground. He also walked around the edge of the city as the tumors dropped so that the tumors dropped at an interval of 50 meters between them.

The tumors were shiny white like silver. As they fell to the ground, they rippled and transformed from a ball of liquid white metal into a small white statue of a puppy.

When those puppies grew black tails, their unfocused eyes came alive. Then the puppies officially stopped being statues and began to move their limbs.

The first thing the puppies did was to look around them and assess their surroundings for the best prey to target. So they turned their heads around and used their senses to examine the ground, the air, the buildings, and the people in the city.

After they were done assessing all of their options, most of them decided that the people and other living things in the city would give them the highest return for their investment of time and energy. So all of the puppies decided to hunt the humans.

Once their decision was made, they opened their mouths wide to reveal a maw ringed with multicolored teeth, with no surface of their mouth free from teeth. Then they ejected a black blanket from their maw that they used to cover the world before them.

What ensued was chaos and carnage. The puppies had only one instinct, and that was to eat. They didn’t care about anything else, including the power of the thing that they wanted to eat. They only want to indulge in gluttony.

Now that Loki had given his instincts the freedom to wreak havoc and power to do so effectively, the result could only be a feast for gluttony.

With one bite, the small puppies were able to swallow a house and everyone in it whole. Hundreds of people were gone in the Blink of an eye. This was heaven to Fenrir, but it was hell to the inhabitants of the city.

Because of this, the city was quickly thrown into chaos as people began shouting and running away for their lives. The city police were quickly drawn to the city to snuff out the disturbance or earn a lot of city tax through it.

The police officers came with anger and pride. They came shouting and demanding the city tax. They came demanding money and threatened to arrest them if they didn’t get their money.
