Chapter 391: The Golden One.

The exception from this wild goose chase was Skarg. Skarg seemed to be too busy with something and didn’t go out looking for the reincarnation that appeared in the city.

No one knew where Skarg had gone, and no one asked questions because no one noticed that Skarg wasn’t in the city. Only one person noticed that Skarg was gone.

As Loki observed the three stones and the hole in the cave that Slav and Skarg had just entered, he rubbed his chin and said, “I wonder what they are here for. Do they have private property here, or are they just looking for something?”

He had been keeping an eye on Skarg and Slav, so he saw them sneak out of the city. This was why he didn’t want to leave the city for anything. He was afraid that they would leave in his absence.

As it turned out, he was right to stay nearby to watch their every moment. He was able to see them leave on the second day of his awakening. Then he followed them here.

A few minutes ago, the group stopped in a cave with a dead end and three stones. There were some writings on the wall, but it didn’t seem like there was anywhere else to go.

However, they somehow managed to open a hole in the wall of the cave. Now he is wondering if this is a trap.

He has marked the two of them, so he can tell that they are still moving around. The mark on them showed that they didn’t stop somewhere to wait and ambush him. This gave him the confidence to enter the hole in the wall and go after them.

When he entered the tunnel behind the hole, he found only darkness. His eyesight was better than normal because of the influence of Fenrir, so he was able to see in the darkness. This helped him move through the darkness without a light source.

This is good because a light source will alert the people he is following to the presence of a stalker. By flying in the air, he also ensured that he didn’t produce any footsteps that could announce his presence.

He succeeded in evading their perception, but his success meant that he was too far behind them. So he missed it when they suddenly disappeared in the tunnel.

Actually, he couldn’t tell that they had disappeared. According to the marker on them, they were still standing in the same place. This made him also stay still where he was.

When he sensed them stop in place, he said to himself, ’Why did they stop? Do they plan to ambush me?”

While he was wondering what they were up to, the events that took place in the cave heaven continued without a hitch. Skarg and his human puppets were crushed to dust while Slav regained the memories of his past life.

The difference came about when Slav frowned and said, “What is this feeling? Is there good luck and bad luck nearby? What could it be from?”

Then he looked at his body and said, “And what is this on my body? It looks strange. It doesn’t possess the characteristics of any pathway I know. Has there been a new pathway in the time I was gone? Who made it, and how did I encounter it?”

He didn’t know what the mark was for, but he sensed that keeping it could lead him to good luck, so he didn’t remove it.

As he frowned, he reappeared in the tunnel system where the father and son had entered the cave heaven from. Then he followed his sense of luck towards the source of the good and bad luck that he was perceiving.

Some distance away, Loki sensed that Slav had begun to move again. He also sensed that Slav was coming towards him.

This made him frown and say, ’Where is Skarg? Is he dead? Could it be that Slav is returning, or are they planning to ambush me?`

He couldn’t figure out why only Slav was coming back, so he shook his head and said, ’If they think they can ambush me, they have another thing coming. I will just grab him and interrogate him.’

He would have loved to search Slav’s mind for answers instead of using force to interrogate him. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to get the Mind Hunter Branch Metacs that he needs to search the mind and read thoughts. This is because they are rank 5 Metacs, which aren’t sold in the city.

Skarg hadn’t given him enough time to prepare, so this is the only thing he can do. But since Slav is just a rank 1 ignorant young man, he is sure that force will be enough to get answers out of him.

So when Slav turned the corner and came face to face with him, he said, “Well, well, who do we have here? What are you doing here so far away from…”

He couldn’t complete that question because he noticed that Slav’s eyes were different. Slav’s eyes were golden and bright. His eyes were not normal at all.

As he looked into Slav’s eyes, he didn’t see an ignorant young man looking back at him. What he saw was an ancient mind quietly assessing him behind the golden light.

He had seen that same mind many times before. So he knew without a doubt that this Slav was the reincarnated version and his long standing enemy. But he still activated the Power Identification Ability to make sure.
