THE GOD EATER

Chapter 314: No Hiding.

Chapter 314: No Hiding.

Without thinking too much, the array master immediately picked a direction to escape in. The black crow watched him go without pursuing.

Then it turned in Loki’s direction and said, “What are you looking at?”

Loki didn’t answer the question. He too took off immediately. He made the bird he was controlling fly away and create as much distance between him and the death cultivator.

Back where he was hiding, he was still shaken by what he had just seen. He licked his dry lips and said, “If that axe were to fly in my general direction, I would be dead. Just the shock wave of it smashing into the ground might be enough to crush me to death.”

“I should stay away from that crazy lady as much as possible. I stand no chance against her until I advance to rank 5. Even then, I can only be certain of escaping with my life.”

“For now, she has the highest chance of being the most useful soldier in this Heavenly Battlefield. No one else can compete with that undead giant of her’s.”

That undead giant is too strong. That is the truth. But he wasn’t willing to give up yet though.

So his eyes glinted sharply as he said to himself, “I can’t beat her in a fight, but that doesn’t mean that I have to fight her to beat him. As long as I earn more merit points than she does, then I will earn the title of the most useful soldier.”

He licked his lips again as he said, “Once I earn that title, I will see what’s so great about it. I also want to see if I can take it back with me to the past.”

Right now, he is still on the lookout for the guardians of this world. He doesn’t know if he can defeat them, but he wants to know where they are hiding so that he can plan what to do next about them.

As he was planning for the future, the battlefield was still reeling from the short battle between the three rank 5 cultivators. The shock waves of that battle had scattered the clouds in the sky and caused earthquakes that caused mountains to collapse, so there was no way no one noticed it.

There was someone in the sky who would have noticed the fight even if it had been between two ants on the ground. This person was a woman wearing a large yellow robe and had a third eye on her forehead. She also had a bright mark glowing just above the third eye.

There were many pupils in that third eye. The pupils combined and enlarged as she focused the third eye in the direction of the battle that had just concluded.

Her third eye focused on the undead giant next. After looking for a while, she turned the third eye in the direction that the bird who watched the fight and didn’t run away was going.

Her position was high up in the sky on the level with clouds, but she could see that tiny bird flapping its wings and flying away after the fight. She could also see the two spherical balls buried in the mind of the bird.

As she focused on one of the spherical balls in the bird’s mind, everything in her vision expanded to zoom in on the hollow spherical ball. Soon, all she could see was that hollow spherical ball.

But she didn’t stop there. She continued to dig deeper until her vision entered the hollow spherical ball.

First, she saw darkness and only darkness. But then a light appeared like the light at the end of a tunnel. She followed this light until she appeared somewhere underground.

As she looked down, she saw someone hiding in the ground. The person was lying prone on the ground.

The sight of this person made her sneer and say, “Did you think you could hide from me? Your betters can’t hide from me.”

Loki was minding his business, plotting the demise of all of his enemies, when an eye suddenly appeared before him. The eye was standing just above his face, and it was talking to him in a condescending manner.

He didn’t even care about the condescension. The fact that this eye had appeared before him meant that he had been found.

So he exclaimed, saying, “Shit.”

Then he jumped out of the grave and began running away as fast as he could.

High up in the sky, the seer was looking down on him. There was a grin on her lips as she watched him try to escape her. In the next moment, she dropped down from the sky like a falcon towards him.

No matter how he tried to escape, she could always find him. She followed him like a hawk, trailing her prey.

Of course, she could catch up with him easily if she wanted to. But she was delaying the hunt because she was enjoying it. She wanted him to run as hard as he could and fall into despair when he realizes that nothing he can do will ever be good enough to escape from her.

Unfortunately for her, in just a few seconds of running, her prey quit and stopped running. The man stood in the air and turned to face her as if waiting for her. This spoiled the mood of the hunt for her.

She came over to him and asked with a frown on her face, “Why aren’t you running?”

He said, “I figured that escaping a seer is nearly impossible.”

The frown on her face eased off, and she smiled when she heard this. But then she heard him say, “I also figured that seers are weak and easy to fight.”

She almost couldn’t believe her ears. There was shock on her face as she said, “You think you can defeat me?”

She even pointed at herself just to show how incredulous she found his statement.
