Chapter 295: Attack Explosion.

On the other hand, Loki was stuck wracking his mind on what to do. He thought about using mental attacks since he couldn’t use physical attacks in his trapped state. But he didn’t want to use it because he could only use the Mind Hunter Pathway alone to attack.

His Shifting Armor can defend from mental attacks, but it can’t produce mental attacks, so he won’t be able to use the pathway of forging to enhance the mental attack. This will reduce the power of the mental attack and make it far too weak to threaten the rank 5 deceiver.

His maximum power and the power of his enemy were too close for him to crush any opposition. So he remained trapped while the rank 5 deceiver was able to approach him from the front and stab him.

The deceiver was carrying a large stabbing knife in their hand, which they extended towards Loki. But just as the rank 5 deceiver was about to touch him, he released the power of confusion that he had absorbed from the cloud of darkness after defending against it. His target was the deceiver.

The mental attack struck the rank 5 deceiver head-on. The deceiver hadn’t expected something like this, so they were caught off guard. The mental attack turned their world upside down and made them lose track of their surroundings.

This was the opportunity that Loki had been waiting for, so he extended his hand towards the deceiver while creating a spear in his fist, which he stabbed at the deceiver.

The deceiver was confused, so they couldn’t dodge the attack. His extended arm and the fact that the spear was growing ensured that the attack quickly reached the target and stabbed them in the chest.

Unfortunately for Loki, what he stabbed wasn’t the deceiver. What he stabbed was just a clone of the deceiver. There was a total of four clones around him, and all of them were attacking him.

The deceiver had used Darkness Clone Metac, which created extremely realistic clones out of the solidified darkness. These clones were so realistic that they were identical to the original in body and mind.

It was because they were so identical to the original that he was deceived by them. He had seen the mind of the clone through the Mind Hunter Pathway and thought that it was the real thing.

It is only now that he noticed that he had been played and was using the Power Identification Ability to check them that he realized that none of them had energy wells. Unfortunately for him, it was already too late for him to notice this distinction.

The deceitful act had made him use up his trump card and had made him distracted, so he was helpless when the clone behind him stabbed him in the back.

The deceiver used his full power this time around and stabbed him with a blade enhanced with the Blade of Darkness Ability. So he was using both a weapon and the power of Metacs to attack him.

The weapon was a rank 5 weapon, so the power of the attack this time was 5(Dao Status) × 5(Dark Mist Core Metac) × (5(Mind) + 5(Blade) + 1(Body) + 90(Energy Well)) × (5(Dark Amplification) + (Energy Solidification) + 5(Blade of Darkness) + 5(Backstabbing) + 5(Energy Explosion)) × (500% Overdrive + 90% Energy Nexus), which is 372,437 units.

For this attack, the deceiver activated the Backstabbing Metac, which can only take effect when stabbing a target from the back. They also activated the Energy Explosion Metac, so when the blade touched Loki’s back, it caused an explosion that tore through his body.

The explosion broke the defense of the Shifting Armor, entered his body, and broke it apart. The explosion first erupted from his sternum as a pillar of darkness. Then it expanded until it swallowed half of his torso.

There was no boundary in his vision between when he was alive and when he died because of the cloud of darkness. In both cases, his vision was full of darkness. The only difference was that he stopped being aware of the darkness around him after he was killed.

He died just like the many other cultivators of the Four Directions Sect that had been lured to this place. The only difference was that the ambush hadn’t killed him, and the rank 5 cultivator had to attack him personally to kill him.

As Fenrir took his consciousness into the River of Time, he kept replaying the scene of that fight in his mind. The thing he focused on the most was all the Metacs that Fenrir saw and how they worked together to produce the power of the hammer.

After reviewing the power output of the hammer and comparing it to his power output, he said to himself, “If I gain a Level 5 Dao Status, will I be able to match that rank 5 deceiver?”

This question made him shake his head and say, “I doubt it. That power that they displayed was just too strong. It is the kind of power that can destroy a continent back on earth.”
