Chapter 165: Chapter 56: [Sinner and Heart of the Remains Grand Brawl]

"Pulangti of the Corruption Swamp is a creative eccentric. He enjoys pranks and entertainment, tinkering with all kinds of humus and materials in the swamp to create many whimsical Undead byproducts, equipping his subordinates with those items and infectious agents. The living are his new toys, and also excellent targets for his cruel pranks.

"The other two are in the southeast of the Hai Xin Plain. It’s too far from here, so I haven’t interacted with them, but they also have their own ideas and goals.

"No one is willing to compromise. However, since the number of Undead is so limited, the Hai Xin Undead are divided into six factions." The Frog-beak Helmet stared at the Knight’s Helmet in front of him.

"Now, it should be seven factions," he added.

"You were assigned a job?" Samael asked instinctively.

"You didn’t know? Are you not an Extermination System?" Anshiba suddenly asked in return.

Clearly, Anshiba’s mind was not as slow and clumsy as his appearance suggested. On the contrary, he was quite sharp.

Samael fell silent for a few seconds.

"No." He chose to be honest. "It’s a type of engineering and construction system."

Anshiba fell silent for a moment before letting out a heavy snort. "Then you have terrible luck. This world is full of sinners, yet you actually have to build construction projects for them. You might as well slack off and wait until I’ve hoarded enough corpses to purge all the sinners."

"Why do you call them sinners?" Samael asked.

"The initial mission objective of the Extermination System is to kill all sinners and their descendants," Anshiba said. "Have you not seen how disgusting the people of this world are? Murder, theft, rape, and pillaging. Widows and orphans are slaughtered by them, while the elderly and children are beaten. Anyone with a shred of morality knows they don’t deserve to live.

"I’ve already sent two antlered Undead warhorses to the northern outskirts of the Heart of the Remains to scout and estimate the garrison’s numbers. Once my heavy Skeleton Warhorse cavalry is strong enough to break through the outer garrison of the Oak Knight Territory, I will smash the city walls down with my shoulder plates and set the filth-ridden city ablaze. Then, after a heavy rainstorm, I’ll use their ashes to plant towering Rusted Copper Giant Trees all over the ruins.

"First the Oak Knight Territory, and then the whole world. Except for the flora and fauna, everything else must be killed."

"That kind of thinking... might be a bit one-sided. After all, the Oak Knight Territory and Greenka don’t represent the entire world." Samael subconsciously defended the people he had met since arriving in this strange world.

"If you’re in cahoots with that trash, then we have nothing to talk about," Anshiba interrupted.

The other party was clearly a very stubborn person, single-minded and rigidly adhering to his own twisted logic. Samael felt a bit troubled, but he couldn’t act recklessly right now.

"I was hoping to obtain some various flora and fauna resources from your territory, Anshiba, my friend." He steered the conversation back to the main topic.

"Are you building something for the living?" Anshiba suddenly asked. "If you only need Undead Materials and humus, there’d be no need to come into someone else’s territory looking for living plants and animals."

Samael thought, "This guy seems to have a sluggish personality, but he’s actually terrifyingly sharp!"

"My friends are living people," he admitted.

CLANG! Anshiba’s massive Hand Armor clamped directly onto Samael’s pauldron.

"In other words, you mingle with them?" The Frog-beak Helmet slowly lowered his height, aligning his cold, dark visor slit with Samael’s. "You mingle with those bandits, robbers, gangsters, and corrupt nobles?"

"With that trash?" His rumbling voice echoed within his chest plate like thunder.

"No, my friends are adventurers, exiled merchants, students, decommissioned Guards, a restaurant proprietress, a Blacksmith, a florist, and an architect—" Samael argued. "Perhaps you should try exploring other parts of the world instead of sulking over the Oak Knight Territory..."

"This world has no room for trash. Death gave me a new job: to sweep away the garbage and judge their crimes," Anshiba interrupted. "And I am happy to carry out this work.

"As for you, I don’t care what you do, but I will purge all the sinners in the world. If you get in my way, my warhorse will simply trample right over you."

He released Samael’s pauldron.

"You haven’t understood the true meaning of those Undead combat skills. Do you have the skill [Condemnation]?" he growled. "Use Condemnation to sever a limb, and then try using the circuit infiltrator on it. The severed limb will repeat the Spiritual Record of a few movements, including some it commonly performed in life, as well as its final instinctive action right before death. Go try it for yourself. See what kind of people the dead truly were when they were alive."

He turned and mounted his Skeleton Warhorse, and the earthquake-like hoofbeats rang out once again. Surrounded by the Barrel Helmet Knights, Anshiba departed.

Samael stood rooted to the spot, wanting to sigh but lacking the functional capacity to do so.

Ghost Knights really weren’t normal people.

Recalling Anshiba’s words just now, he dragged over one of his own Corpse Demons from nearby.

[Invoking Biological Posture Material: Condemnation]

The Nether Copper Fingers, like a life-claiming ghoul, stabbed directly into the Corpse Demon’s muscle and bone, forcefully tearing off one of its arms.

[Circuit Infiltrator activated.]

Amidst the buzzing vibration of the Nether Copper, the long-rotted arm was forced into motion.

The hand loosely gripped an imaginary sword hilt, stabbing fiercely at the air as if attacking someone.

Samael remained silent.

The arm spasmed and twisted, thrusting for a while before suddenly changing its motion.
