Chapter 442: Hoverboard

Ellia frowned, stepped back, and put her sword back in her storage.

Seeing her action, Floyd felt calmer and brought it to Auric. "I heard you are going to China next week, so I rushed here."

"Who told you that?" Stella frowned.

"I owned the airline," answered Floyd nonchalantly.

"Oh." Stella didn’t expect that answer, but that was more than enough of an answer.

"I apologize on behalf of my sister, so let me compensate you a little. I don’t want you to direct your anger at my family. Why don’t you just go with my family’s private jets? Because of the world’s situation, only a few families in the world have private jets. They can’t be bought even if you have money. Neither the Astler family nor the Relesha family has one. In this country, my family is the only one that manufactures private jets."

"That’s good, right?" Stella turned to the others.

Ellia clicked her tongue. "You are as shrewd as ever. People used to compare me with Axel in the business world, but you are definitely the most annoying one to deal with."

"Huh?" Stella was completely confused.

"He might be a playboy, but he’s sharp and smart," explained Katarina. "He probably brought his sister as a trap, so that he could apologize and compensate us with the private jet just to maintain the relationship with Auric. Someone as smart as him surely knew about his sister’s character, yet despite that, he still brought her."

"Oh!" Stella was dumbfounded. "Can I say people in politics or business are beasts?"

"Don’t forget your family used to be like them." Katarina shrugged.

Auric’s expression turned solemn before he waved his hand. "Come in."

"Haha..." Floyd let out a hollow and nervous laugh before bringing the case to Auric. He opened it in front of Auric. "This is the hoverboard."

Floyd took it out and continued with the explanation, "By channeling your energy into this hoverboard, you can make it discharge your power in the form of passive energy. By continuously channeling energy, you will be able to fly in the sky. If you just practice a little, you will get used to it."

"Hmm..." Auric looked at something similar to a skateboard but without wheels. This was the project they were talking about. It took longer than Floyd expected, but he really managed to create it. A hoverboard was just one of its applications. This would be the gate to many more inventions.

That was why it was necessary for him to maintain his relationship with Auric.

"How about you try it?" Floyd smiled and placed down the hoverboard on the floor, gesturing for Auric to try it.

"Hmm?" Auric thought for a moment. It wasn’t going to hurt to try. At least, it would make Floyd leave faster.

Auric stepped on the hoverboard.

"Just gradually pour your energy. You will realize that there are two nozzles. The first one flows underneath your hoverboard. There are multiple small holes that push you up. You have to maintain your balance. The second nozzle is the one pushing you from behind."

Auric channeled his energy carefully, observing the flow of energy. He understood the design almost immediately.

As soon as the energy started flowing, Auric felt the sudden thrust from below, which gradually lifted him into the air.

Auric raised both hands to maintain his balance, but controlling his energy was not a problem for him.

Floyd looked surprised. "Wow. This is the first time I’ve seen someone manage to do it on their first try. You are so amazing."

Auric didn’t have any reaction. Instead, he focused on channeling his energy to the back nozzle.

Slowly but surely, he was moving forward.

"Ohhh?!" Katarina was amused.

"You can pour more energy into the bottom nozzle if you want to increase your altitude. You need to maintain a certain flow rate of energy, which will depend on your weight. If you channel less energy than you need to stay afloat, you will descend.

"If you want to move forward, you can control the speed by simply adjusting the amount of energy flowing to the back nozzle. The air resistance will naturally slow you down.

"If you want to turn left or right, you can carve, as you would when surfing or skateboarding. Lean your body and maintain your balance."

Auric skillfully did it since he had complete control over his energy. It wasn’t that hard to begin with, especially for high-level people to maintain their balance.

He started slowly, but he could imagine what would happen if he increased his speed. He definitely didn’t want to make a mess in his own store.

"Hmm... I believe there are people who are willing to buy it." Auric nodded. "It can allow you to basically cross any terrain as long as you have energy."

"Yes. And since you’re planning to go to China, I actually brought you this one." Floyd came back with another briefcase and showed a sword.

"A sword?"

"Yes. I’ve done my market research, you know? Each country will probably have its own unique design. This one is a flying sword."

"I mean, isn’t it like a man’s romance to use a flying sword to roam the skies?" Floyd smirked.

"No, not exactly." Auric shook his head.

"Not you, but this one is definitely going to sell. The principle is the same."

"You will start selling it soon?"

"Yes. There are still a few tests left before we announce this product, but this is just the beginning. We will start making a lot of things such as flying cars or flying cabins. It’s really good to have a flying cabin for emergencies in the air. Maybe to send out supplies as well? Anyway, that’s for later. I’m just telling you a little spoiler." Floyd smiled.

"Hmm. So, what are you going to do with these prototypes?"

"These are for you. Since you have helped me, I’m obligated to bring them to you."

"Surely, you’re not going to give them to me so that you can get my opinion..." Auric narrowed his eyes.

Floyd smiled for a few seconds before clapping his hands and acting coy toward him. "Come on. You are the master. Maybe, with a bit of your insight, you will be able to find something to improve on."

"Besides, I have also brought this one." Floyd brought the last briefcase. This time, it was a pair of boots.

"This looks more practical."

"As expected of you, you can definitely see its potential right away." Floyd introduced the boots. "These are flying boots. The concept is similar, but this will allow you to use it like normal boots, maybe skates. It will help everyone to fly even if they don’t have a pair of wings on their back."

Auric fell silent. These flying boots would definitely be the most practical. A lot of people would want these shoes since they could fly around freely, allowing them to do things they weren’t supposed to be able to do.

If an earth element user wanted to cross a mountain, they usually had to go around the mountain. If they were willing to spend some energy, they should be able to climb up and down the mountain. With the flying boots, they just needed to use their energy to fly over it.

Besides, having the ability to fly in a fight was also crucial. The market is extremely big.

There was a reason Ellia called him annoying. No one realized how dangerous he was because people tended to focus on his usual playboy act. They secretly looked down on him.

Without them realizing it, Floyd was already coiling around them like a snake, ready to deliver a killing blow.

Auric closed his eyes for a moment before nodding. "Sure. This sounds great. Surely, you have brought one for everyone, right?"

"That’s..." Floyd scratched the back of his head. "Of course. I’ve made enough. I forgot to bring it, so I will send them to you at a later date."

Auric let out a long sigh. This was a kind of promotion as well. If someone as popular as Auric used it, a lot of people were bound to buy it.

After all, Auric was as popular as an idol.

Since Floyd was trying to use him, he would definitely use Floyd back. Of course, a few prototypes wouldn’t cut it.

"Fine." Auric sighed.

"Great." Floyd’s plan worked perfectly.

However, Auric suddenly grabbed his shoulder and said in a cold tone. "I don’t know if you are already aware of it, but my life principle is equivalent exchange. I will definitely remember this."

Floyd gulped nervously. "Of course."

Auric nodded and released him. What Floyd didn’t know was that Auric already had a way to improve it, but not many would be able to get that improvement.

Yes, Auric thought about turning it into magic items. He could boost their performance easily. No, it might even allow some people, like Maya, to actually use them as magic weapons.

That was why it was great to actually have these boots.

While Floyd was becoming indebted to him, Auric already had more than Floyd thought.

"I guess you should take care of your sister."

"Right? You are right. Next time, I’ll text you first. I’m sorry." Floyd hurriedly escaped. With Ellia, Katarina, and Maya around, taking advantage of Auric any further would be the same as provoking them to sentence him to death. So, he needed to retreat as quickly as possible.

Auric looked at these prototypes and sighed. "I guess I’ll have to prepare a lot of things for the upcoming trip. By the way, no more F-word, Stella."

Stella let out a long sigh. "Fuc—"
