Chapter 435: A Fight Between Two Families

  • Next Chapter

All of a sudden, various rumors began to emerge.

[Tim Kaufa is going into the hotel with a mysterious woman?]

[The Headith Corporation is facing the prosecutor?]

[The gift...]

There were many malicious rumors that couldn’t help but cause an uproar within their family.

"What is going on?!" an old man in his eighties asked out loud, glaring at all his sons and daughters as well as the directors of his family’s enterprise.

"We are not sure about that yet, sir."

"Then, investigate it! What the hell are you doing?"

"Is it because of the Aheron family? I heard they’re going to give a capital injection to that project." One of them raised a valid question.

The old man glared at Tim, who was also getting hit by the media.

Tim shook his head. "I don’t think so, Father. The Aheron family might resort to such a thing to people weaker than them, but if they dare to do so to us, they won’t be able to withstand our wrath. Besides, the one coming this time is that Axel."

When they heard who was coming, one of them muttered, "Axel Aheron... his talent in combat is particularly great, but his talent in business is like Ellia Stroph Astler, that woman who has become the richest under twenty. The reason Axel Aheron doesn’t make it onto the list is that he’s taking care of his family’s business without taking a share for himself. He should know better that he shouldn’t provoke us."

The old man paused for a moment, contemplating.

Suddenly, Tim received a phone call. "Speaking of the devil..."

Tim showed the screen to his father, indicating that it was a call from Axel.

The old man put his finger on his lips before saying, "Put it on speaker."

Tim nodded and accepted the call.

"I don’t seem to be able to say good morning to you, Mr. Tim. I don’t think I like the idea of your plan to use me."

They were baffled, wondering what Tim was saying to Axel.

Tim hurriedly asked, "I don’t quite understand. What plan are you talking about? I’m sincere with my cooperation."

"Really? Your son invited me to have a drink yesterday, and he said to me that you’re planning to use my money to get rid of the Delimore family."

Tim panicked. "W-What are you talking about? We never had a plan like that! Please watch your mouth, Mr. Axel. You are the representative of the Aheron family, so mind your accusations."

"I should be the one to say that, Mr. Tim. If not for the fact that the other party is more annoying to me, I wouldn’t have even called you. However, it does seem that both of you don’t really think that highly of my family." Axel’s tone was cold. It could be said he was threatening Tim, but he didn’t push too much.

Tim noticed his wording and immediately asked, "This might be just a misunderstanding. The Delimore family? Why did they annoy you? We were sincere in our cooperation."

"A misunderstanding? Aren’t your family trying to get rid of one another?" Axel paused for a few seconds, letting them process his words a bit. At the same time, it also showed the hesitation in Axel’s voice. "I have no intention of picking a fight with both families, but I don’t like being used to getting rid of the other. I am here to make money, not to meddle in your fight."

It was an indirect suggestion that the Delimore family was trying to get rid of the Kaufa family. As long as they kicked the Kaufa family from that project and received a massive capital injection from the Aheron family, the Delimore family would come on top and weaken the Kaufa family severely.

That was easy to figure out, but what convinced them was what Ellia had prepared next.

Suddenly, a butler rushed into the room. Tim’s heart skipped a beat and he hurriedly muted the phone so that Axel didn’t hear anything.

"Sir, we have an emergency situation!"

"What?" The old man narrowed his eyes.

"Chief Adjudicator Arnie is on the move. He’s coming to the facility."

"!!!" The old man widened his eyes in shock. The old man immediately figured out the situation. "Those bastards."

Another one picked up the clues and muttered, "The Aheron family might be wealthy, but they’re not influential enough to actually mobilize the adjudicators. In other words, the Delimore family might be the one behind the mobilization of the adjudicators."

"Are they trying to get rid of us by pinning the blame on that madman?"

"Chief Adjudicator Arnie. A man who eliminated the entire Iposon Gang by himself..."

"Not good! They are really trying to push us out of that project and get the capital injection from the Aheron family to get ahead of us. They’re using the slander as a justification for the adjudicators."

The old man’s expression turned grim. "Where is he right now?"

The butler reported, "Chief Arnie is moving toward the facility. There is no one other than the chief researcher and Master Tim’s son."

"No. There are more people there. It’s John Delimore!" Tim gasped, realizing the situation. If John advised Chief Arnie that everything was the Kaufa family’s fault, they would be facing a massive problem.

"I-I will stop him!" Tim turned pale.

The old man gritted his teeth and shouted, "Get there now and make sure that lowly bastard doesn’t get ahead of us. Try to find a way to shut the facility down. It’s better to stop the operation and hit back at the Delimore family for playing with us!"

"I will use the media to attack the Delimore family." One of them stood up.

"We’re not letting them get ahead of us."

The old man added, "The Aheron family can wait. Apologize to them or whatever. Just buy some time. We’ll show them that we’re the ones sincere and kick the Delimore family out of that place."

"U-Understood!" Tim nodded furiously. While he wasn’t entirely capable of leading the entire family, Tim was competent enough to handle a big project.

Without hesitation, he rushed out of the room. He had three goals—shut down the facility, confront John Delimore, and apologize to Axel.

As soon as the two families came into conflict, the situation became tense.

...

The Delimore family was also confused.

"What the hell? Those guys are truly treacherous."

"We have to fight back."

Manipulating the Delimore family was even easier. Axel was sitting on his couch, while waiting for the situation to calm down.

"I still don’t know if this is worth it, young master. What if they find out it’s us?" The butler sent by the family looked worried.

"They won’t. I can always play dumb by saying I was also drunk at that time." Axel smirked. "The reason they can’t figure out the situation is that Chief Adjudicator Arnie is involved.

"What I’m telling them is just a lie mixed with the truth. Currently, the Delimore family is more well-known as liars and backstabbers. That is why it’s understandable if they’re using the media to kick the Kaufa family.

"On the other hand, the Kaufa family focuses on improving themselves no matter what kind of trick they’re using. That’s why we only have to attack the Kaufa family. They will think the attack comes from the Delimore family and fight back.

"To keep the tension up, the adjudicators will make their move. We don’t have the ability to move the adjudicators, not to mention the infamous Arnie.

"That’s why they won’t listen to each other and think the other party is lying." Axel smiled.

Coupled with the fact that they used to be enemies, Axel knew that they couldn’t help themselves. They would attack each other, which would then give the opportunity to Auric and the others to enter.

Of course, this wasn’t what Axel did. When he was touring the facility, he also looked around for cameras and other security measures to see if they could infiltrate the facility easily.

Arnie was also playing his role perfectly. As soon as he arrived, he immediately started the inspection, not to destroy the facility, but to figure out the entrance and all other things.

Obviously, Tim couldn’t allow the Delimore family to gain the advantage. He immediately confronted John and prevented Chief Arnie from destroying the facility.

John was confused because he knew nothing about the sabotage, but it didn’t matter. With Chief Arnie around, there was only one thing to do.

They had no choice but to close the facility before Arnie used his authority to seize it under various pretexts. At the same time, they had to order people around to stop Arnie from continuing his investigation.

Arnie was adamant as well, but it didn’t matter. With the higher-ups coming at him, Arnie had no choice but to stop. At the same time, he wouldn’t stop just because they wanted to.

Arnie requested that the facility be closed until further notice. Without this agreement, Arnie would continue to investigate.

They knew how Arnie operated, so closing this facility was aligned with what they were intending to do.

They happily agreed to Arnie’s condition as they could simply restart the facility later. Little did they know, the troublemaker who planned all this was actually sitting in her office, casually watching the conflict unfold between the two families.

Ellia sipped her tea with a calm smile. "A perfectly brewed tea on a perfectly bright morning."

"..." Arina rolled her eyes. "You are causing trouble again."

"I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have been doing my job in my office since early in the morning."

Arina just sighed. There was no trace of Ellia, especially with the fact that Ellia didn’t use the money registered to her. It was money from overseas, completely clean without any trace of her.
