The Genius Evolution Store
Chapter 420: Unique Case
Eric and Auric were staring at each other. Auric wasn’t going to taunt Eric or anything when it came to business.
At the same time, he didn’t care much about the business. All this time, Eric was probably the only friend who didn’t care about what he actually possessed. He was there to challenge him as a rival, and that was it.
Ellia, Katarina, or even Stella were close to him because he had something unique, unlike Eric.
That was why Auric held Eric in the highest regard, even though he often teased him.
Eric closed his eyes for a moment. “Well, money is never a bad thing. That depends on how much you want.”
“Now that I think about it, Eric has 51% while I have 49%,” added Tommi.
Auric chuckled. “I am fine with 5% or 10%. I’m not intending to control this place or anything. I am just trying to do something with my friends.”
“You usually lose friends if the business doesn’t work, you know?” Tommi looked away.
“Well, with money, you can hire a secretary or someone who can deal with the paperwork.”
“Friendship is indeed a good thing.” Tommi immediately corrected himself.
Eric facepalmed before saying, “Well, I don’t mind giving you 10%. However, you need to put in at least a hundred million credits.”
“A hundred?” Tommi was startled. The money they used to create this group was only a few million credits. They had earned some money to fix the broken building, but that was it. A hundred million was simply too much.
Auric smiled as if he wasn’t scared.
“How about this? You give me 10%. I will give you one billion credits.” Auric grinned.
“One—what?!” Tommi dropped his jaw to the ground.
Stella just looked away. She knew Auric was rich, but the way he spent a billion somehow frustrated her. Then again, with the Moon Store gradually expanding, it wouldn’t be hard for Auric to earn a couple hundred billion in a year.
To Auric, a billion was just a drop in the bucket.
“Your evaluation is too much.” Eric narrowed his eyes. “I’m not going to accept your charity. This is an organization I plan to create from the very bottom, not a place to dump your money.”
“In that case, I will give you a hundred million and give Tommi nine hundred million.” Auric winked.
“I’m rich! Whoa!” Tommi licked his lips.
“You really…” Eric crossed his arms, feeling like slapping Auric.
“Hahaha. I’m joking. I’m still planning to give you a billion for 10%, but I’m not planning to give you the money for nothing. Instead, I’m giving you a condition. In one year, you need to reach Rank 3 and grow this company to a mid-size company.”
With the money, Eric could definitely do it. He could spend some money to hire people to handle some work while Eric and Tommi continued to improve.
“What is your aim?” Eric frowned.
“My aim?” Auric looked up, thinking about it. “I’ve heard about this from Tommi. Your group is planning to have two core businesses, right? The first one is protection, similar to X-Security where Mr. Popo is working. The second one is material procurement. If this company makes it big, I will have a dedicated company to handle all my materials. After all, my Night and Day store is not just an evolution store, but also a material store.”
“…” Eric looked down, contemplating. He also had his own goal because without a big company, he wouldn’t be able to get Vera.
That was why a capital injection would hasten that progress.
“However, don’t be mistaken. While I don’t care about whether this company can succeed or not, if you focus too much on expanding without realizing that the foundation is about to break, I will be quite disappointed.”
“Fine.” Eric nodded, accepting the deal. “However, do remember that this is a deal, not exactly a charity.”
“I know.” Auric nodded. He was glad that Eric didn’t just accept his money. In fact, he had consulted Ellia on a few things about the business, so he knew that Eric took this company seriously.
“In that case, I will accept the billion and—” Eric wanted to give him his share, but Tommi interjected, “Hey, give him 10% of my share. Keep your 51% share. I might not know everything about business, but I do know that you need at least a 51% share to fully control the company without worrying about other things.
“That’s why, even if I or Auric sell our shares later, you will still control the company no matter what happens.”
Eric opened his mouth, wanting to reject his idea. However, Tommi suddenly dropped to the floor and acted as if he were a baby. “I don’t care. I want to give him my 10%. I’m going to cry like this if you don’t give him my 10%! You should have more than 51%.”
“You were the one selling everything and even took some loans.” Eric frowned. “Most of the money came from your scholarship, not mine.”
“I don’t care!”
Tommi looked like he was going to haunt him for many days if he didn’t accept.
“All right, all right!” Eric sighed.
Tommi smiled and stood up as if nothing had happened. He winked at Auric and gave a fist bump as if everything went according to the plan.
“Why am I babysitting these two annoying goblins?” Eric gritted his teeth.
“Hahaha!” Tommi laughed. They spent some time catching up. Auric knew that Eric and Tommi seemed to be doing just fine.
With the money, Eric and Tommi could focus on the growth of the company. As Auric said, they needed to grow their strength exponentially so that no one could harm them.
Eric and Tommi promised him that they intended to reach Rank 4 before they graduated and advance to Rank 5 not long after while handling all this work.
Auric believed in them. Even if Tommi looked childish, he was quite sharp in figuring out their situation. On the other hand, Eric was simply responsible and serious about his work. With his unwavering willpower, he believed that they could grow the company fast.
…
The next day, Stella finally left Auric to search for artifacts and reach Rank 5. Auric had given her three billion out of his remaining four billion credits for her to spend. He wasn’t exactly worried about the money he could easily get. Besides, it wasn’t like Stella could achieve her goal with just three billion.
As expected, Maya actually returned to Thunderer City along with Supervisor Jacob and Chief Adjudicator Arnie.
“I’m back.” Maya waved her hand while opening the store.
“Welcome back.” Auric nodded.
“It looks like you’re doing very well.” Supervisor Jacob smiled.
“I am just preparing to open my shop again. As you can see, I’ve left it closed for quite a long time.”
“Fair point.” Supervisor Jacob nodded in understanding. “For that, I have also brought you the reward for the training program as well as the compensation.”
Auric’s eyes turned cold when he heard about the compensation. Without hesitation, he said, “I don’t need the compensation. You can take it back.”
“That’s…” Supervisor Jacob wanted to convince him, but Auric glared at him as if implying that if Supervisor Jacob intended to continue that conversation, he would kick him out of here.
“Fine, fine.” Supervisor Jacob gave up. He finally understood what Auric truly wanted when it came to that conflict. He had heard about it from Maya and thought he could convince Auric, but it didn’t seem like he could.
“Anyway, this is the reward.” Supervisor Jacob brought out everything. “This bracelet is imbued with a Rank 6 element, Wind Storm. It will create a barrier of wind that can withstand an attack from a Rank 6 human one time.
“This is the equipment. You don’t exactly like armor, so instead, we’re giving you this. The clothes are made of Rank 5 Serpent. It’s elastic, so it shouldn’t restrict your movement, while still being durable. It should dampen the impact from the enemy’s attack nicely.
“There are some artifacts and materials as well. They don’t know what elements you need, but if you are following the path of other elements as well, we’ve prepared items of all elements.” Supervisor Jacob put everything on the table. “Last but not least, your teacher has suggested giving you battle techniques and a chance to go to the ruins.
“Hence, we are giving you these two letters. The first letter can be used in any university and allows you to take three books regardless of their rank from its library. Just not the forbidden books. The second letter will give you access to any ruins you want. However, that access will be recorded, and you will have to hand over 50% of what you take from the ruins.”
“…” Auric was quite surprised by the ruins pass. He definitely needed it. It looked like Maya had negotiated it well.
“Okay.” Auric accepted it calmly, showing no sign of excitement. “We can start your treatment. I will gradually break down the energy in your body. Judging from my current power, it will take approximately two months. Any problem with that?”
“Don’t worry. I’ve cleared my schedule. Besides, it will be useful to the country that I’m back at full health rather than doing anything else in my condition. We wouldn’t have struggled that much if I hadn’t had this injury when facing the beast wave.” He shook his head helplessly.
“No doubt about that.” Auric nodded in agreement. After all, Supervisor Jacob was considered one of the strongest in the country if he didn’t have his injuries.
“But before that…” Supervisor Jacob pointed to the side.
“I want you to take a look at her.” Arnie showed the Director’s daughter, the woman who was in a coma because of the elemental turbulence.
