Chapter 1100 - 894: Finding Tifa, Rescuing the Dragon Mother
Chapter 1100: Chapter 894: Finding Tifa, Rescuing the Dragon Mother
Even so, Ma Yinglong really couldn’t hold it in: "How about we send someone out to tail him and see? Otherwise we don’t know what he’s doing, I honestly can’t take it."
Zhou Qing thought for a moment: "Alright, I want to see too. Let Little Dais go, have him livestream and record."
Ma Yinglong laughed: "Yeah, he’s the sharpest one..."
...
Dragon Sleep Divine Hall.
The Raven Mechanical Body Chun was in floated slowly over the streets, circling as he searched for Tifa. It did look a bit too conspicuous, but that was exactly the point—he wanted to catch Tifa’s attention.
After circling twice with no luck, Chun felt this wasn’t working. He had no idea if he’d gotten her attention; the key issue was that she didn’t know him, and with her sensitive identity there was no way she’d show up and recognize him on her own.
What, am I supposed to run around asking NPCs on every street, or just shout it out in public? That’s even worse. That’d expose her, and she might even think I’m here to arrest her.
Or what, just yell "I’m Chun" straight up?
Holy Shit, that’s... Leaving aside what the players would think if they heard, if that triggered some NPC event, wouldn’t they find out I escaped from the Empire’s prison?
Wait!
Didn’t think of it at the time—but I should have had Yatnass contact the Void clone Tifana first. As long as the clone knew, her main body would know too.
So now I’ll just use the mirror to contact them. The Soul Artifact can’t be taken out directly in the real world; Chun opened his inventory and used it from there.
—System prompt: You are using the Soul Artifact "Mirror of Imprisonment" to contact Aileen. Connection pending...
All he could do now was wait.
But he actually didn’t have to wait long. Aileen’s voice came from the mirror: "Dear..."
Chun said happily, "Aileen, ask Yatnass if she can reach Void Tifana. Tell her I’m floating all over the Divine Hall looking for her."
Aileen replied, "She says she can contact her. Please wait."
Ah, this feeling of smooth communication—it’s really reassuring!
So next, Chun just continued slowly drifting over the streets.
Suddenly, Chun saw a figure crouched at the corner of a wall below, looking up at him!
Is that her?
Excited, Chun swooped over to take a look—Holy Shit, it was the player Little Dais! What the hell are you following me for?
Chun was annoyed and dove down in a dash: "What are you doing?"
Little Dais looked very embarrassed: "Teacher, sir, I just came out to buy water and rations... Someone reminded us just now and we realized we were short on supplies."
Obviously he was here to spy on me.
Chun could only say, "Don’t waste a single second on anything outside of studying."
Little Dais wiped cold sweat: "I just suddenly wanted to learn from Teacher too. May I ask what Teacher is doing?"
Typical player temperament...
Chun said, "I need to move around a bit after waking up, to flex my mechanical functions. As a Mechanical Body, this is something you can’t learn."
"U-understood."
From Little Dais’s side came Zhou Qing’s instructions: "That’s enough, don’t annoy him, get back here."
Little Dais immediately said, "Teacher, sir, I’ll go right back to study."
Right then, Ma Yinglong, Zhou Qing, Brother Tao, and Moore were all staring blankly at Chun’s ten-minute livestream recording.
Moore laughed: "We can confirm it now. The way this Raven acts and talks is absolutely not an NPC. A normal NPC wouldn’t care if a player is staring at him. So once again, no doubt it’s Brother Chun."
Ma Yinglong laughed: "Anyway, Little Dais really is sharp. He tailed him for over ten minutes before getting spotted."
Brother Tao was puzzled: "I feel like his camera angle is just him looking for someone."
Zhou Qing smiled helplessly: "Told you not to watch. Even if you watch, you still won’t get it."
Ma Yinglong laughed: "But Beauty Zhou still wanted to watch, didn’t you?"
Zhou Qing smiled: "Either way, even if Brother Chun’s acting isn’t convincing, keeping this hazy tacit understanding with him is still pretty nice."
Just then, the command center burst into cheers.
Ma Yinglong said with relief, "Finally, we’ve taken the Wild Boar Forest, totally brute-forced it with sheer numbers!"
Brother Tao laughed: "Congrats, Brother Long, you finally opened for business!"
Ma Yinglong laughed: "What business, we already agreed to hand it over to Great God and the others to run. And it’s just a scrapped lumberyard anyway—no idea if we’re screwing them over."
Brother Tao laughed: "Well, Chun’s already out here as a Mechanical Body. Even if it is a trap, he’ll cover it."
Zhou Qing also laughed: "Didn’t stay up all night with Brother Long for nothing. I’m going to sleep."
"Goodnight, beauty!"
...
Chun watched Little Dais turn around and leave, genuinely fed up with these players and their constant antics.
Suddenly, a strange voice came from behind him: "016!"
Chun shuddered hard. That was his prison number. Anyone who knew that number—
He spun around in shock to see a cloaked figure. He couldn’t make out the face, but the voice and build clearly weren’t female. A disguise?
But he didn’t bother overthinking it and just stated his ID: "Number 0016! Mechanical Body!"
The cloaked person’s cloak trembled, and his voice turned excited: "Call me Little Fa, follow me!"
Little Fa? As in Tifa’s Fa?
Chun got even more excited: "Okay!"
They went forward, cutting through streets and alleys, and entered through a courtyard gate, where an entrance like to an underground mall or subway station suddenly opened up.
Holy Shit! I’d been flying in the sky before and had no idea a place like this existed.
Once they went in, the noise below was lively and bustling—it really was like an underground mall with stalls on both sides. Completely different from the quiet solemnity of the streets above.
Chun couldn’t help asking, "This place is?"
Tifa said, "The underground black market. I haven’t fully figured out all the rules yet. The rent here is cheap too—it’s where newcomers rent rooms and work. I rented a small workshop here and make parts for the scholars upstairs, but since I’m new, I haven’t got any business yet."
As they talked, the black-robed person stopped in front of a room and unlocked the door to enter.
Inside was a single room with an even smaller bathroom. The bed, chairs, workbench, and kitchen were all crammed into that one room, as messy as Old Drunkard’s shipyard dorm warehouse back then, but nowhere near as spacious.
