Chapter 1474: Chapter 945: Departures and Staying

"Kana!"

Bugreit descended, his metal body glowing with a silvery-grey hue, swiftly and smoothly transforming.

In less than a second, the streamlined, massive body of the original giant dragon shape accompanied by crisp "click" sounds transformed into the tall and muscular dragon-man form.

Having morphed into the dragon-man form, Bugreit stood nearly three meters tall, lightly floating beside Kana.

Kana looked at him with interest, eyes sharply scanning his old friend’s new form.

Bugreit unabashedly, even somewhat boastfully, displayed his body shimmering with silver light, flexibly turning around side to side.

"So, what do you think? During your time away, has my growth caught your eye?" Bugreit said jokingly with some teasing.

After all, compared to Kana’s breathtakingly rapid improvement, who could genuinely boast about their significant change?

"It seems my progress doesn’t seem to have much feedback for you." Kana calmly responded.

Although during this period abroad, his strength level hadn’t soared significantly, viewed from the subtle perspective of a god, he had steadily moved from the initial weak divine power status to the upper domain of weak divine power.

Essentially, the rank hadn’t changed much, nor would there be an overwhelming change in outward strength.

But this intrinsic growth at the rule level could only be truly understood by oneself as a god.

At this supreme stage of divinity, strength advancement no longer changed easily by the will of a god.

Each step forward in power couldn’t be purely achieved through talent and hard cultivation.

For gods, traditional cultivation behaviors were inherently meaningless.

Experiencing, acquiring, and understanding might be the core pathways for gods to enhance their power.

Upon hearing Kana’s words, Bugreit stood in place, visibly stunned, then opened his mouth with a trace of helplessness:

"Haven’t you already ascended to the divine seat? Moreover, the time you’ve been away hasn’t been long, has it? How could your strength have improved during such a short period?"

No wonder Bugreit was so surprised to ask.

The main reason is that while his strength, under Kana’s will, had grown to the pinnacle of level fifteen, it was fundamentally still the legendary rank, ultimately stopping at the legendary stage.

He had yet to begin treading the perilous path of ascension to divinity, let alone truly standing before the gate leading to the divine hall.

Naturally, he was unfamiliar with the enigmatic stage of divine power, so relying on a legendary’s perception could not detect any specific change from Kana’s seemingly ordinary self, completely beyond his capability.

Kana merely nodded with a calm expression.

"Indeed, there have been changes, but they are not substantial. Compared to your growth rate within the legendary level in the same time span, my change is slightly more significant."

In Kana’s divine vision discerning the essence, Bugreit’s power cannot be said to have made no progress at all, but the extent of growth is exceedingly slight, roughly understandable as increasing from twenty percent progress to twenty-three percent or so conceptually, nearly negligible.

These words even prompted Bugreit to roll his eyes slightly annoyed.

However, he still took a deep breath, sighed with a hint of explanation:

"Since your official ascension to divinity, the feedback and connection provided by our blood have become extremely scarce.

"Currently, my status feels like I’ve returned to the moment when I still had a physical body, before my death.

"I have to rely on my own strength to laboriously elevate my level—treading the thorny divine path, ultimately standing before the divine gate that shines with eternal brilliance."

Kana nodded understandingly, acknowledging that this is ultimately the path to divinity.

"You’ll be busy then."

"Isn’t that so," Bugreit shrugged his broad metal shoulders, "but there’s no rush at the moment. At least until the decisive void apocalypse descends, I’m certainly without the chance."

"So now, it’s more prudent to shift our focus to how to make the world better, allowing our homeland a bit more vitality in this regard."

He paused, his voice lowered slightly.

"Looking at the current impending end times, most legendary powerhouses worldwide have wisely abandoned the obsession with enhancing the fundamental level essence, shifting their focus to how to more efficiently strengthen their practical combat power.

"This usually includes, but is not limited to: forging more powerful weapons, refining various defensive armor, and various magic items that can instantly boost one’s strength on the battlefield.

"Even creating exclusive battle grounds can be considered an effective method."

After all, for powerhouses at the legendary level, within the remaining twenty to thirty years, the extent of level enhancement is truly limited.

Enhancing one’s immediate combat power to more effectively counter the soon-to-rush void army seems undoubtedly the practical right path.

Nonetheless, this is just the pragmatic strategy commonly adopted by legend levels from other forces, the Night Watcher’s legends, due to the support of the datafication system and relatively youthful foundation, can expect to enhance by a level or two within twenty to thirty years.
