Chapter 1468: Chapter 942: Awakening (Part 2)
It is not that it cannot be shattered, but that even after bearing immense Impact and enduring wear and destruction, it still preserves its core structure and maintains its Weapon form and function with an unyielding will.
This formed a powerful resonance with his final experience on the battlefield—using his flesh and blood to withstand a mighty foe, and in the end striking back from a desperate situation to seize victory.
"At least it worked."
Vane let out a long, turbid breath, his tightly clenched fist slowly loosening.
The Legendary realm was like a brand-new lamp Ignited within his body; though its radiance was still unstable and the Power was surging, the tangible sense of having stepped onto a new height filled his heart with a heavy, grounded certainty.
Just then, not far from him, Legolas of the Hunting Arrow, who was wrapped by a "ribbon" woven of flowing light and invisible threads, trembled lightly.
That brilliant Hunting Arrow Ribbon flared suddenly, and then, as though its mission were complete, dissolved into drifting motes of light and scattered away.
Legolas opened his eyes; those sharp eyes belonging to an Elf Hunter now gleamed with a calm and confident light born of seeing through the essence of his prey.
On his wrist, a simple, unadorned leather ribbon silently appeared—yet it seemed to hold boundless hunting wisdom and honor, the proof that he had passed the trial.
The manifest insignia of the Hunting Arrow Rule.
Legolas immediately looked to his own wrist, his fingertips lightly stroking that ribbon, feeling the Power within it that resonated with his own Soul.
A smile of genuine satisfaction spread across his face—the smile of a Hunter who has claimed a supreme quarry.
Then his gaze swept around, and he instantly caught sight of Vane, likewise suspended not far away, whose aura had already changed.
"Captain!"
Legolas’s voice carried a trace of exhilaration after his breakthrough; across the short distance, he spoke without needing to shout, his words clearly audible in this silent space.
He looked at Vane, then quickly scanned the rest of his teammates, who were still wrapped in various forms of Rule Power and appeared in all manner of states; concern, and a faint, hard-to-notice pride, flickered in his eyes.
He and the Captain were the first two to complete the trial.
Vane looked back at him and nodded, about to ask whether Legolas’s experience had been just as steeped in Chaos.
However, an irresistible repulsive force—gentle yet allowing no refusal—suddenly surged over the two of them like an invisible tide.
"Hm?!"
"This is..."
Before the words were finished, both of them felt the space twist; the bizarre visions before their eyes vanished in an instant, replaced by the solid sensation of firm ground beneath their feet and the slightly dazzling light of normality.
They had been "spat" back from the Rule Dome’s wondrous Spirit space into the real world.
At the summit of the Tower of Trial, the landing platform connecting to the entrance of the Rule Dome.
Around the platform, the blazing gazes of Alyris and the other high-ranking figures were already gone, leaving only Researchers from the Alchemy Laboratory in their white robes.
And Scholars from the Great Library, clutching heavy record books.
They were like precision instruments awaiting experimental results, their piercing gazes fixed upon the two who had just appeared, pens and Recording Crystals long since prepared.
Before the Researchers could fully press in around them, a familiar figure had already come with a soft gust of wind, striding quickly to stand before Vane.
Vane’s elder sister.
Her sharp gaze swept swiftly over Vane and the nearby Legolas, sensing on them that aura—still unsteady in its fluctuations, yet already utterly different—that was unique to Legendary Powerhouses; at last, the corners of her mouth lifted in a gratified smile.
"Congratulations, you two Legendaries."
Her voice was steady and forceful, carrying sincere congratulations.
"It seems the Rule Dome did not disappoint your expectations."
Sharply, she noticed the rise and fall of their auras, like newly Ignited torches whose light was bright yet flickering.
She raised a hand to signal the Researchers eager to rush forward to hold back for now.
"For the moment, don’t be in a hurry to answer their questions."
She looked at Vane and Legolas, her eyes filled with concern. "You’ve just broken through; your Power is still boiling, and the Rules within you have yet to fully settle.
"First, calm yourselves; collect your Spirit, and stabilize this Power. Legendary Power is like a newly forged sword—if its edge is too exposed, it is more likely to wound its wielder. Take a little time."
Vane and Legolas both understood his sister’s meaning.
The two exchanged a glance and immediately sat cross-legged on the spot.
Vane closed his eyes, feeling within him that newborn Power, surging like molten lava and yet condensing like steel; he strove to guide and soothe it, letting it calmly fuse into his limbs and bones, merging with his original Power system.
Legolas, like a seasoned Hunter, adjusted his breathing, smoothing out the transcendent perception brought by the Hunting Arrow Rule and the surging energy within his body, letting the sheen of the ribbon on his wrist grow more restrained.
This process did not last long; both were people of deep foundations.
After about a quarter of an hour, the restless aura around Vane fully settled, leaving only a heavy, mountain-still steadiness.
Legolas, meanwhile, became like a leopard merged with its surroundings, his presence faint and elusive, with only his eyes growing still deeper and keener.
Seeing the two stabilized, the head of the Alchemy Laboratory and the Great Library’s chief Record Officer, at Vane’s sister’s signal, finally approached with their assistants.
Their eyes were filled with hunger for knowledge, Recording Crystals aimed squarely at the two.
"Lord Vane, Lord Legolas, congratulations to you both on successfully advancing to Legendary."
The chief Record Officer’s voice was respectful, his eyes shining with excitement.
