Chapter 1449: Chapter 935: Following Instincts (Part 2)
This sounds like conducting a crucial experiment with their future.
Yet, no one present hesitated or complained.
They were well aware of their mission as "pioneers."
The allure of the Path of Legends was so strong that it compelled them to willingly embrace this attached responsibility.
For their personal breakthrough and for countless comrades yearning for this gateway, they moved forward without any reservation.
Alyris’s voice continued to flow, carrying an undeniable guiding strength:
"Upon entering, first follow your heart’s ’instinct,’ unless you already have a clear target in mind.
"You will see countless varied and bizarre entities, all projections and materializations of the world’s fundamental Rules.
"Go ’search,’ go ’sense’ the object that causes a strong resonance deep within your soul, making you feel ’this is it.’ Then, touch it."
Her fingertips slightly lifted, as if illustrating the moment of touch in the void.
"At that instant, you will be pulled into a ’Trial Space’ constructed by that Rule.
"There, your spiritual perception will be further amplified, and your body will also transform in sync under the immersion of Rule Power.
"This deep spiritual immersion will greatly accelerate your comprehension of the essence of the Rules.
"If you succeed in passing the trial, the magnificent gateway to the Legendary Domain will open unimpeded for you!"
Her tone suddenly deepened:
"However, failure follows like a shadow. The most ’gentle’ failure is when you cannot reach the end of the trial, failing to grasp the final opportunity completely.
"But even so, as long as you gain insights and experiences, these valuable fragments will still transform into Keystones, preserved deep in your soul.
"After leaving this place, you can still rely on these hard-earned gains to continue knocking on the door of legends, albeit with difficulty yet not without hope."
Her gaze turned sharp, like a blade of judgment, scanning every youthful or steadfast face:
"But beware of the worst outcome! That is—you not only fail miserably in the trial but because of wavering thoughts, actions, or will, or intense conflict with the essence of Rules, arouse the Rule’s ’disgust’ and ’rejection.’
"If hit by this misfortune, you will not only gain nothing but will be completely ’marked’ and ’rejected’ by that Rule! This means that even if you manage to step into legends by other means, you can never again choose or even touch the power of this Rule!
"Related or similar Rule paths might also be completely closed to you!"
Alyris paused briefly, seemingly to allow space to digest the weight of the information.
Her final words carried a rare, almost imperceptible hint of soothing, but it felt more like a cold statement than consolation:
"As for whether this is a warning of destiny or pure misfortune... Maybe it can only be understood this way: it cruelly tells you that this path might be inherently against you.
"Then, giving up this thought early and seeking another path might not be ’luck.’
"Certainly, if this one opportunity ends in such a result, it will be an unbearable setback for the individual."
"It might not completely sever your Path of Legends, but it surely adds unimaginable hardship and obstacles to this already challenging road."
Everyone held their breath, every syllable striking their hearts like a heavy hammer, tightly clutched and branded into the deepest parts of their consciousness.
Every word and sentence pertains to their lifelong pursuit of a legendary dream, concerning all future glory and possibility.
Alyris’s solemn gaze swept across the room, the rules’ dome reflection glinted in her blood-red pupils, she nodded slightly, her voice solemn and majestic:
"Words end here. May all of you... have prosperous fortune in battle! May each of you push open your own door to legend and step onto that shining Path of Legends!"
As the words fell, a silence that chilled the heart ensued.
Only the buzzing, like countless whispers of tiny stars from the rules dome, softly flowed in the air.
Moments later, led by Vane, everyone shouted in unison, placing their hands over their chests to salute with the utmost respect of the Night Watchers.
"For the Night Watchers!"
Immediately, under Alyris’s and all senior members’ attentive gaze, the first batch of Warriors hesitated no longer, stepping forward one by one with determination and anticipation towards the glowing entrance of the rules dome.
Their figures seemed like stones thrown into the water, disappearing without a trace in the moment they touched the semi-transparent "glass" shell, merging silently into the bizarre world.
One step forward.
It felt as though they had fallen into an ocean of silence from the bustling mortal world at once.
Soon, external sounds, light, and even the tangible sense underfoot vanished instantly, replaced by a sense of... indescribable "clarity" and "amplification."
Vane gasped sharply, not through his nose, but as if every pore on his body opened up simultaneously and breathed.
He "heard" the sound of his blood gushing through the veins, as clear as mountain streams;
He "saw" the subtle tremor of muscle fibers at each heartbeat, with power flowing slowly within like magma;
He could even "feel" the slight stress distribution of his bones bearing his weight, and the touch of the armor lining adhering to every part of the skin.
Is this meticulous and extreme perception of one’s existence the "spiritual amplification?"
It was as if his soul was released from the constraints of the body, examining and mastering the body with unprecedented clarity.
His gaze wandered, instantly overwhelmed by the scene before him.
There was no sky, no land, no direction here.
All he could see was a boundless, softly glowing silver background of Chaos.
In this Chaos, countless strange "objects" floated, rotated, collided, and fused like living stars.
Lively, flickering small orange-red flame sprites extended their fiery hands and feet, curiously watching the newcomer;
Meandering, ringing clear water ribbons appeared and disappeared;
A wisp of breeze carrying the scent of grass and trees silently brushed past his helmet;
Cold and biting chill condensed into rotating diamond snowflakes, slowly drifting down... These were the spirits of the most basic Elements.
Farther away, there were even more bizarre entities:
A slowly writhing, dark stone-mud mass that seemingly could change shape at will;
A cloud of unpredictable, mist-like gray-white smoke;
A magic cube composed of countless flickering silver cubes, constantly rotating and reconstructing itself;
A block of glowing red-hot dark-red iron, emitting suffocating heat;
A seemingly ordinary yet integrated with heavy earth-like Power pitch-black coal...
There were even some colorful, structurally peculiar amalgamations that couldn’t be described with ordinary logic, colliding and combining with each other, where each contact rippled out an unusual energy that created even more bizarre forms.
The entire space was filled with boundless vitality, vast mysteries, and a breathtaking unique beauty.
Vast! Deep! Unfathomable!
Vane felt as though he was in the cradle of the universe’s beginning, tiny yet awe-stricken.
Alyris’s reminder reverberated in his soul like an engraving:
"Follow the instinct... seek... sense..."
He instinctively relaxed his grip on the sword hilt.
Gently closed his eyes, not to close off, but to detach perception from the randomness of vision, immersing himself into the magnified thousands of times "bodily sensations" and "inner call."
He searched.
Searched for the connection to his instinct, then followed his instinct to find the Rules most suited for him.
Yet, this endeavor seemed not as easy as he imagined it to be.
