Chapter 1373: Chapter 901: Dark History_2
"Alright, it is indeed a place worth visiting, as it is the base camp of the Order World, the home of the Titan Pantheon."
This opportunity just coincides, since recently there’s nothing much to do.
Chronos grinned with satisfaction.
Then, as if remembering something, his rugged single eye turned to Luminar, reminding solemnly.
"However, let me say this up front, when you come to my place, you better keep that ’research spirit’ in check."
"Don’t let it get the better of you and make you want to dissect and analyze the constructs of my kin."
"And certainly don’t come back afterwards and start creating a bunch of iron lumps that look exactly like my Titan brothers. That would not only be provocative but practically tearing one’s dignity apart and trampling it. Understand, old friend?"
"Redundant reminder."
The light on Luminar’s facets showed a slight, barely perceivable wave similar to an eye roll, his voice remained clear and steady.
"The fundamental behavior norms database has been updated. ’In-depth dissection of Titan life forms’ and ’creation of highly realistic Titan mechanical bodies’ have been marked as ’Taboo behavior - High diplomatic risk,’ trigger conditions automatically locked. No need for repetition."
Kana stood by, a glint of curiosity flashed in the Blood Silver eyes.
Under normal circumstances, Luminar wouldn’t give such a mechanical response.
The brief time of acquaintance let Kana know that only when Luminar’s emotions fluctuate, responses like these appear.
Displayed as impatience or other emotions, the response is presented in this datafied manner.
Luminar’s response, portrayed as ’impatient,’ and Chronos’s tone of ’reminiscing less-than-fondly,’ obviously concealed stories behind them.
"Ha ha, ha ha ha!"
Chronos met Kana’s exploring gaze, and erupted into another loud laugh, bearing a ’you know’ vibe.
"Looks like our new friend is intrigued! Good, good! Anyway, the time on the road is just right for me to tell you how this ’wise’ craftsman god did so many ’foolish things’ that are hard to comprehend back in the day.
"Let’s go, let’s find somewhere else to chat extensively, there’s plenty of time."
Inside the gigantic Boat Fortress, the space was cleverly partitioned.
After traversing the coarse primitive deck, the grand arena, and the ancient obsidian banquet hall, the three at present found themselves in a differently adorned hall.
This was the ’reception room’ that Chronos mentioned.
Unlike the boat’s overall sense of power, here was laid a dark blue, seemingly solidified stardust-soft carpet, the walls having a warm jade hue, emanating a gentle glow.
Several sets of spacious comfortable sofas were not ordinary items; their frames were made of dark gold metal, while the filling was star gleam’s flowing, highly elastic star plush, perfectly matching the godly beings’ physiques.
In the air flowed a soothing energy melody, silently performed by Wind Element maidens in the corner.
A few appearance-wise gentler, like starlight condensed maidens stood quietly serving, their figures slender, faces blurred but exuding a peaceful aura.
On the tray they held were glowing beverages with a refreshing fruit aroma, clearly considering Luminar’s needs.
Kana and Luminar each took seats, while Chronos unceremoniously ’thumped’ himself into the central sofa, sinking in halfway.
With a comfortable sigh, he then looked at Luminar, his single eye full of mischievous laughter, and began the tale:
"Hey, Kana, don’t be fooled by his current ’polite’ demeanor."
"This guy, when he first appeared, had a mind tougher than his crystal, resembling a stone more than anything. Logical thinking? Pure as freshly distilled star realm energy, without any ’human warmth’ impurities."
"Just like those natural-born ’godly shells’ that only understand rule operations!"
He deliberately emphasized the words "godly shell," clearly disdainful towards such existences.
Kana knew this term was used as a derogatory label for those gods possessing only godliness.
When life ascends to godhood, it’s practically akin to becoming a different species from their original selves.
Because at this stage, life acquires rules, even masters them.
But rules are rigid, they are ruthless.
If you master life, you can still have your emotions and use the rules as per your preferences, to a reasonable extent.
Yet if rules govern you, and you attain the so-called godliness, you become the cold and rule-operating god.
Only those seeking to grasp powers they never possessed or those who have strayed on the path to divinity end up in such a situation.
These gods are few, but not insignificant in number.
Still, most gods are in the stage where godliness and emotions blend.
But those only possessing godliness, void of their own emotions, gods are scorned as shells.
Because what’s inside isn’t themselves anymore, but rules.
Merely rule-enforcing machines.
Luminar’s facets remained steady, as though Chronos wasn’t referring to him.
And Chronos’s tale continued.
"And the result?" Chronos slapped his thigh, "The foolish deeds this guy has done could cover the mountain walls of Titan Ancestral Mountain."
"The most famous incident was right after he appeared, reportedly during his early weak divine power state, somehow fixating on that renowned medium divine power – [Alchemy Weaver] Odin’s territory."
"The old fellow’s Alchemy Magic Nation was a star realm famous library of knowledge!"
Chronos mimicked Luminar’s probable state at the time, his voice becoming flat.
"’Detected high-value alchemy knowledge database in target zone. Execute acquisition program.’ And then? This guy! Directly tore open the spatial barrier, brazenly stormed into the nation’s core.
"Without a word, packed up the ’Tower of Ten Thousand Laws’ – the symbol of Odin’s divine power, congregated with the wisdom of countless generations of master alchemists – straight into his space pocket."
"The whole process, clean and nimble, he was unfazed by anything!"
Luminar by the side shimmered slightly as if about to say something.
He really wanted to mention that everything being said was speculation, as during that time he didn’t have friends.
Even less possible to know Chronos.
But indeed at the time, he was thinking along those lines, even uttering such words.
Kana listened, the corner of his eye twitching slightly, the operation was indeed... mechanical enough, direct enough.
"And it didn’t stop there!" Chronos spoke with flying saliva, appearing both annoyed and amused.
"Our noble Luminar actually didn’t run after the heist! He just settled at the edge of Odin’s nation, randomly finding a small asteroid fragment, then getting the tower out and starting to ’scan’ and ’peruse’ book by book."
"What’s more is from time to time, flash to the side of some great alchemist conducting an experiment, grab their collar, and in his cold tone inquire.
"’Formula on page 137 line 5, energy circuit redundancy optimization logical contradiction. Explain.’ Totally treating Odin as air! Tell me, isn’t this akin to defecating on a god’s neck and asking for toilet paper?"
As for why Chronos knew so well?
Because there was a related book, which wrote this event as a story.
It was penned by a deity with authority over storytelling.
Luminar’s facets finally flickered, seemingly searching for records of this event, emitting a subtle hum.
"...Database record: At the time, it was judged that Odin was not in a state of maximum alert, and knowledge acquisition was prioritized over potential conflict risk assessment. Logical chain contains deviation loophole. Corrected."
Looks like it is indeed a dark history, now resorting to datafied responses.
"Ha! Correction? You were almost corrected to crystal powder!"
Chronos snorted, "In the end, Odin himself took action, capturing this lawless ’knowledge thief.’
"That old fellow was also furious, intending to obliterate that rock-hard crystal core and remould it."
"But probably discovered at this guy’s core he’s an unworldly ’machine of rules,’ could only suppress his fury, pinch his nose and start ’teaching him,’ enlightening him on what ’politeness’ means and that ’besides rules there’s humanity’!"
