The Fragrance of My Hot Patients
Chapter 450
Chapter 450: Chapter 450
Sister Rose’s statement was brief, but it was so logical and well-argued that the reporters couldn’t find any fault with it, nor could they find an opening for more questions.
For one, she didn’t shy away from Lin Jiji’s issues. Instead, she formally stated that the company would hold a press conference to provide a detailed explanation and address the concerns of all involved.
For another, the current situation was about resolving Chenyang’s problems. Although Lin Jiji was a party to the incident and needed to be there, his own sordid affairs had little to do with Chenyang’s case.
This move not only allowed her to deftly sidestep the reporters’ pointed questions but also steered the conversation back to the day’s main agenda.
While the reporters were at a loss for words, Chenyang stepped forward. "Everyone, this isn’t the Lin Jiji and Chenyang show. We have leaders and members of the public here. To avoid disrupting the hospital’s normal operations, and to resolve this mess that never should have happened in the first place, please put aside your curiosity about Lin Jiji’s personal affairs for now."
"Fine, we’ll wait for the press conference."
"However, Lin Jiji is the one who started this whole affair with Doctor Chen. As members of the media, we should be allowed to stay, observe, and record the facts. There shouldn’t be a problem with that, right?"
Chenyang smiled. "Of course, you can stay. But I have two small requests, if you don’t mind."
Hearing this, everyone looked over, their curiosity piqued.
Chenyang said, "First, I hope the cameramen can make me look handsome and catch Lin Jiji’s bad side. After all, this is my first time on TV and in the news. As the good guy, it’s obviously better to look good. As for the villain, the uglier he looks, the easier it is for people to hate him."
Everyone was taken aback for a moment, clearly not expecting such a request from Chenyang. Then, they all burst out laughing.
"My second request is also simple. When you air this story, please give my medical skills a little praise. As a new doctor at the City Hospital, I could really use the public’s support."
"No problem," the reporters agreed without a second thought.
"Great. Then let’s get back to business!"
Chenyang smiled and looked toward Zhang Hongtu and the other officials. "Sirs, would you like to take it from here, or shall I?"
Zhang Hongtu glanced at the man beside him. "Dean Zhen, the situation is more or less clear. Doctor Chen is not only clearing his name but also drumming up some positive press for your hospital. I say we let him handle it."
Dean Zhen nodded. "As Vice Mayor Zhang says."
"Thank you for your trust."
After a grateful smile and a nod, Chenyang turned to the fans and the crowd. "Everyone, now that we’ve reached this point, I’m sure you all know what the truth is.
I won’t waste any more of your time, so let me summarize it in one sentence: I am innocent. Everything you saw online was fabricated by Lin Jiji to slander and defame me.
If you all accept this, then we can move on to the final step. If anyone still has objections, please voice them now, and I will answer your questions."
The onlookers exchanged glances, but no one said another word.
But among the fans, a few were still clinging to a sliver of hope.
"Were you really framed by Lin Jiji?"
"I just can’t believe Lin Jiji would do something so despicable."
Chenyang said with a smile, "There might not be a lot of evidence public yet, but it should be more than enough to prove he framed me, don’t you think?"
"I don’t want to hear it from you! I want to hear it from Lin Jiji himself!"
"I feel the same way!"
Looking at the few die-hard fans, Chenyang grinned but didn’t bother to argue or refute them.
He knew it wasn’t that these fans didn’t believe the facts right in front of them; it was that they couldn’t accept them.
Before this, the Lin Jiji they knew was a glamorous and perfect idol.
But now, the stories kept coming—sleeping with fans, forcing them to get abortions, using illegal substances—one sordid tale after another. The Lin Jiji they were learning about was a devil, a complete contrast to the angel they thought they knew.
Such a stark contrast was truly difficult for anyone to accept right away.
Chenyang shrugged with a smile and stepped aside, bringing Lin Jiji back into the crowd’s line of sight.
"Lin Jiji, hurry up and say something!"
"We’ve been your fans for so long! You don’t just have to answer for this incident, you have to answer to us!"
Looking at his flustered and angry fans, Lin Jiji’s gaze flickered evasively.
He wanted to deny everything, but he was afraid Chenyang still had concrete proof.
At the same time, he didn’t have the guts to admit to it.
Even though many of the accusations had already been proven, confirming this one would only make his situation worse. On the other hand, if he denied it, his punishment might be lighter. And if all else failed, he could still try to drag Chenyang down with him.
After a moment of internal conflict, he struggled to his feet and scrambled over to Sister Rose’s side. "Sister, you have to help me."
Sister Rose’s expression was cold. "And how am I supposed to do that?"
