The Fragrance of My Hot Patients
Chapter 307
Chapter 307: Chapter 307
A little baffled, Lin Jiji asked, "Do what to Chenyang? And who is Chenyang?"
Lin Xiaoyue replied, "He’s that doctor from the car crash. The one who insulted you and tried to get fresh with me."
"Oh, that bastard. What made you ask about him?"
"I heard from the doctors here that he was apparently kidnapped."
"Kidnapped?" Lin Jiji froze for a second before a smile spread across his face. "The heavens are just! Some hero must’ve stepped forward to enact justice and teach that bastard a good, hard lesson."
Hearing this, Lin Xiaoyue asked, "It wasn’t you, was it?"
"Me?" Lin Jiji’s first instinct was to shake his head and admit he didn’t have the guts. ’But saying that in front of my goddess would be so humiliating,’ he thought. After a moment’s consideration, he laughed. "I can’t say the thought didn’t cross my mind.
After all, the bastard went way too far. I couldn’t care less that he insulted me, but he just had to try and get fresh with you. Plus, he was bullying all those injured patients.
You know I love you, and you know I have a good heart, so I did think about finding some people to beat him up. But just as I was about to, my manager stopped me.
He said beating up Chenyang wouldn’t be a big deal in itself, but if it ever got out, it would be bad for both of us."
Lin Xiaoyue nodded. "That’s true. If you really did that, it would be very bad for you."
"So, you’re asking all this because you were worried I might have done something rash in a fit of passion for you?"
"Partly, yes. The doctors were worried you might act rashly, but you seem very level-headed now."
"Of course. With you by my side, I’ll always keep growing."
"You’re so sweet." Lin Xiaoyue blushed. "Now that I’m sure it wasn’t you, do you know if any of your fans did it? If it was your fans, that could still affect you to some degree."
"I have no idea if my fans did it or not."
"You should probably check, because this kind of thing..."
"Mmm... ah~!"
Lin Xiaoyue was halfway through her sentence when she suddenly heard a woman’s sensual moan from the other end of the line. Her brow furrowed slightly. "Jiji, what was that sound?"
What was that sound?
It was, of course, the assistant’s moan.
But she hadn’t cried out uncontrollably in a moment of pleasure.
Rather, she simply couldn’t stand watching Lin Jiji fawn all over Lin Xiaoyue, and at the same time, she could no longer contain her own rage.
She wanted revenge, but she knew she could never win against Lin Xiaoyue in a fair fight.
After some deliberation, she decided to let out a moan to make Lin Xiaoyue suspicious.
The most dangerous thing for any couple is suspicion.
Even the slightest hint of doubt could, over time, create a rift in their relationship. Slowly but surely, Lin Xiaoyue might leave Lin Jiji.
But she had only considered how it would make Lin Xiaoyue suspicious; she hadn’t considered Lin Jiji’s reaction.
The moment she let out that moan, Lin Jiji’s face instantly darkened.
He liked Lin Xiaoyue, but more than that, he wanted to possess her.
Until he achieved that goal, he wouldn’t allow anyone to sabotage it!
The assistant’s action right now was tantamount to destroying his plan.
So, before he even answered Lin Xiaoyue’s question, he shot out a hand and clamped it around his assistant’s neck.
His furious gaze bored into her, his eyes clearly screaming, ’If you dare make another sound, I’ll strangle you to death!’
The assistant grew frightened under his glare. With his hand around her neck, a powerful sense of suffocation instantly washed over her.
She struggled for her life, begging for mercy in the lowest possible whisper.
"Jiji, why aren’t you saying anything?"
"Ah... n-nothing. It was just the hotel maid. She thought the room was empty and came in to clean. She got a fright when she suddenly saw me, that’s why she made that sound."
Lin Jiji explained, forcing himself to sound calm, and even feigned annoyance. "The hotel service in Yang City is awful. They don’t even know enough to knock before coming in."
Lin Xiaoyue felt that something wasn’t quite right.
’If a maid had barged in and been scared by seeing Lin Jiji, it should have been a startled shriek.’
’But that sound just now was clearly a moan of pleasure.’
But she didn’t dwell on it, saying with a smile, "Maybe the maid has been working for too long and got a bit confused. Actually, Yang City is a really nice place. You’ll see once you’ve been here longer."
"Right, right, right. Your uncle works in Yang City, so we’ll definitely be visiting often in the future. I really do need to learn more about this place."
"Mm, let’s put that aside for now. You should really ask if any of your fans abducted Chenyang. Even though a fan’s personal actions aren’t your responsibility, if something bad happens and people find out it was one of your fans, it will still have a major impact on your reputation."
"Okay, I’ll send someone to ask around right now. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything."
