Kane shifted in his arms, amber eyes bright despite his exhaustion.
"Much." Kane’s tail flicked against Cyrus’s thigh, a mischievous smile playing at his lips.
The dragon’s possessive purr rumbled through his chest, fingers tightening slightly on Kane’s hip.
Kane pressed closer, feeling Cyrus’s interest stirring again against his lower back.
"You know," Kane murmured, voice still rough from their earlier activities, "for someone who claims to have learned everything from romance novels, you’re surprisingly... thorough."
Cyrus’s grip tightened on Kane’s waist. "Kane."
"What?" Cyrus took a sharp breath as Kane’s tail swept deliberately between his legs.
"I’m just making conversation."
"Kane, behave."
Kane shifted, pressing back against Cyrus’s growing arousal with calculated innocence.
"I am behaving. This is me being very well-behaved."
The warning growl that vibrated through Cyrus’s chest only encouraged Kane further. He tilted his head, lips brushing the sensitive spot just below Cyrus’s ear.
"Though I suppose," Kane whispered, tongue darting out to taste salt and heat, "if you’re tired, we could always—"
Cyrus rolled them in one fluid motion, pinning Kane beneath him.
Red-gold eyes blazed down at the fox, whose satisfied grin revealed he’d gotten exactly what he wanted.
"I warned you."
Kane’s laugh was breathless and delighted. "You did."
"Insatiable little fox," Cyrus growled.
Kane’s breathless laugh turned into a gasp as Cyrus’s mouth claimed his.
"Your insatiable fox," Kane corrected between kisses.
Cyrus’s mouth moved from Kane’s lips to his throat, teeth grazing the sensitive skin there.
Kane’s breath hitched as Cyrus found the spot where his pulse hammered wildly.
"Cyrus—" Kane’s protest died as sharp teeth pressed down, marking him.
The dragon’s possessive instincts flared, demanding he claim every inch of pale skin.
His mouth traveled lower, leaving a trail of red marks across Kane’s collarbone.
"You’re going to leave bruises," Kane complained, even as his back arched into the touch.
"Good." Cyrus’s voice was rough against Kane’s shoulder blade, teeth scraping deliberately.
"Let everyone see who you belong to."
Kane shivered, heat pooling low in his belly despite his halfhearted protests.
"We have to work tomorrow. People will notice."
Cyrus’s laugh was dark as he moved to Kane’s hip, fingers digging in just deeply enough to leave marks.
"Then they’ll know."
Kane’s tail curled around Cyrus’s wrist, betraying how much he actually enjoyed the possessive display.
Each mark sent electricity through his system, the dragon’s claim written in temporary bruises across his skin.
"Territorial bastard," Kane breathed, but his voice held nothing but want.
Cyrus bit down on Kane’s hip bone in response, drawing a sharp gasp.
A moment later, Cyrus’s hands gripped Kane’s hips, positioning him as he prepared to take him again from behind.
But just as Cyrus pressed forward, Kane twisted in his grasp.
"Wait." Kane’s voice carried that familiar edge of mischief.
"You know, for someone who claims to be so refined, you’re awfully predictable."
Cyrus paused, red-gold eyes narrowing.
"All instinct, no finesse." Kane’s grin was pure sass as he looked over his shoulder.
"Very dragon of you. Pin the fox down, take what you want, and repeat."
The dragon’s grip tightened dangerously. "Kane—"
But the fox was already moving, using Cyrus’s momentary confusion to slip free and push against his chest.
Caught off guard, Cyrus found himself flat on his back, Kane straddling his hips with triumphant amber eyes.
For the first time since they’d entered the bedroom, Cyrus looked genuinely surprised.
"Kane, what are you—"
"I’m turning the tables," Kane declared, hands pressed firmly against Cyrus’s chest.
Cyrus’s eyes flashed crimson. "Kane—"
"Shh." Kane’s finger pressed against Cyrus’s lips, the gesture both playful and commanding.
"Dragons aren’t the only ones who can take charge."
Kane positioned himself over Cyrus’s length, amber eyes locked on the dragon’s face as he lowered himself slowly.
The initial stretch made Kane’s breath hitch, fingers digging into Cyrus’s chest as he took him inch by careful inch.
Cyrus’s hands flew to Kane’s hips, not to control but to steady, his entire body going rigid beneath the fox.
"Kane," Cyrus’s voice cracked, red-gold eyes wide with something between awe and desperation. "You don’t have to—"
"I want to," Kane gasped, sinking down further.
The fullness was overwhelming from this angle, every nerve ending singing as he adjusted to the intrusion.
Cyrus’s grip tightened; his claws itched to dig in, but he remained gentle.
His chest rose and fell rapidly, crimson energy flickering beneath his skin as he fought every dragon instinct screaming at him to flip them over and take control.
"Look at you," Kane whispered, finally seated fully. He rolled his hips experimentally, watching Cyrus’s eyes roll back.
"The mighty dragon, completely at my mercy."
A strangled sound escaped Cyrus’s throat, hands trembling against Kane’s skin.
Kane’s tail swept across Cyrus’s thigh as he began to move, setting a torturous pace that had them both gasping.
Once Kane was comfortable, his movements grew bolder and faster, his hips rolling in a rhythm that had Cyrus’s vision blurring at the edges.
The fox’s hands braced against the dragon’s chest, using the leverage to drive himself down harder with each stroke.
"God, Kane—" Cyrus’s voice broke completely, his usual composure shattered.
Red-gold eyes squeezed shut as Kane found the perfect angle, the one that made stars explode behind his eyelids.
Kane’s breath came in sharp pants, sweat beading along his collarbone as he rode Cyrus with increasing desperation.
His tail lashed against Cyrus’s thighs, fox ears flicking with each downward motion.
"That’s it," Kane gasped, watching the powerful dragon fall apart beneath him. "Let me see you lose control."
Cyrus’s hands slid up Kane’s sides, fingertips leaving crimson trails of energy that made Kane cry out.
The dragon’s head fell back against the pillows, throat exposed and vulnerable as Kane claimed him completely.
"Kane, I can’t—" Cyrus’s words dissolved into a groan as Kane’s pace became relentless.
Kane ignored Cyrus’s broken pleas, riding harder, chasing the fire spiraling higher in his chest.
His thighs burned, his fox instincts screaming at him to yield, but the sight of the mighty dragon unraveling beneath him gave him strength.
