Cyrus went rigid with surprise, his breath catching against Kane’s mouth.
For a heartbeat, neither moved—Kane’s lips pressed against Cyrus’s, waiting for a response that felt like an eternity.
Then Cyrus’s control shattered.
A low growl rumbled from his chest as he rolled Kane beneath him, pinning him to the silk sheets.
His mouth moved hungrily against Kane’s, months of restraint dissolving in an instant.
Kane grabbed Cyrus’s shirt, dragging him closer as their kiss deepened. Every careful boundary they’d maintained crumbled under the weight of want.
Cyrus’s teeth grazed Kane’s lower lip, drawing a soft gasp that made Kane’s spine arch.
"Kane." Cyrus’s voice scraped raw against his throat, pulling back just enough to meet Kane’s eyes.
Kane’s amber gaze blazed with need, his lips already swollen from their kiss.
"Don’t stop." Kane’s fingers traced the sharp line of Cyrus’s jaw.
Cyrus captured Kane’s mouth again, deeper this time, his hands mapping the curve of Kane’s waist through his shirt.
Kane’s responding moan vibrated between them, setting Cyrus’s blood on fire.
The plush toys tumbled forgotten to the floor as they lost themselves in each other.
Kane’s hands explored the expanse of Cyrus’s chest, fingers tracing the defined muscles beneath his shirt.
He tugged at the fabric impatiently, and Cyrus helped him pull it over his head.
The moonlight streaming through the windows cast silver highlights across Cyrus’s pale skin.
Each touch drew a sharp intake of breath from Cyrus, encouraging Kane to explore further.
His palms mapped the ridges of Cyrus’s abdomen, feeling the tremor that ran through the dragon’s powerful frame.
Kane’s touch grew bolder, sliding lower until—
His hand froze.
Holy shit.
Kane’s eyes widened as realization hit him.
The BSA’s spirit guidelines definitely hadn’t prepared him for this particular aspect of dragon anatomy.
"Kane." Cyrus’s voice carried a warning, his red eyes searching Kane’s face.
"If we continue, there’s no turning back. Are you certain?"
Kane’s mind raced. He pulled the silk comforter over his head, creating a small cocoon of darkness where he could think without Cyrus’s intense gaze.
Okay, think rationally. You’re a fox spirit. He’s a dragon. Dragons are... proportional. This shouldn’t be surprising.
But knowing something intellectually and experiencing it firsthand were entirely different matters.
The heat between them was undeniable, but Cyrus’s size made everything feel suddenly real—and intimidating.
Kane peeked out from under the blanket, meeting Cyrus’s concerned expression.
"I..." Kane’s voice caught. The heat in Cyrus’s eyes made his stomach flip, but doubt crept in alongside the desire.
Can I actually handle this? What if I embarrass myself? What if—
"Take your time," Cyrus murmured, his hand gently stroking Kane’s hair through the comforter.
Kane burrowed deeper into the blanket, his heart hammering against his ribs as conflicting emotions warred within him.
I never imagined this would happen. Not with anyone, especially not with him.
His chest tightened with a mixture of want and terror.
Cyrus represented everything Kane had convinced himself he’d never have—power, devotion, and the kind of love that consumed rather than comforted.
Kane’s fingers trembled against the comforter’s edge.
He wanted Cyrus desperately and had dreamed of moments like this in the quiet hours before dawn. But the reality felt overwhelming.
"Kane." Cyrus’s voice cut through his spiraling thoughts, gentle but grounding.
Cyrus felt Kane’s tension through their shared warmth, the fox’s racing heartbeat audible even beneath the silk.
Without a word, Cyrus slipped under the comforter, joining Kane in the cocoon of darkness.
His arms encircled Kane from behind, pulling him flush against his chest.
"Breathe," Cyrus whispered against Kane’s ear, his voice low and soothing.
Kane melted into the embrace, his back pressed against Cyrus’s solid warmth.
Cyrus’s lips found the sensitive curve of Kane’s neck, pressing gentle kisses along the pulse point.
Kane’s breath hitched as Cyrus’s teeth grazed his skin—not quite a bite, but the promise of one.
"Cyrus..." Kane’s voice came out shakier than intended.
Cyrus’s mouth traveled lower, finding the spot where Kane’s neck met his shoulder.
His teeth pressed down with careful pressure, not breaking skin but marking territory.
Kane’s fox instincts flared to life, recognizing the claiming gesture.
A soft whimper escaped him as heat pooled low in his belly.
His earlier anxiety dissolved, replaced by something primal and wanting.
Foxes understood dominance and understood the delicious surrender of being caught by a worthy predator.
Kane pressed back against Cyrus, silently asking for more.
Cyrus obliged, his bite deepening just enough to make Kane gasp with pleasure.
His hand traced a slow path down Kane’s torso, his fingers skimming over heated skin until they found their destination.
Kane jerked against him, a sharp gasp escaping his lips at the contact.
"Not too bad yourself," Cyrus murmured against Kane’s ear, his voice carrying a hint of amusement mixed with desire.
Kane’s response died in his throat as Cyrus’s hand began to move with deliberate, practiced strokes.
The silk comforter created their own private world, muffling Kane’s increasingly desperate sounds.
"Cyrus—" Kane’s voice broke as pleasure coursed through him.
Cyrus’s free arm tightened around Kane’s waist, holding him securely as his hand continued its ministrations.
Kane’s head fell back against Cyrus’s shoulder.
The dragon’s touch was confident, each movement calculated to draw another breathless moan from Kane’s lips.
Kane’s hands fisted in the sheets, his body arching into Cyrus’s touch.
Cyrus’s mouth found Kane’s fox ears, which had emerged in his arousal.
His teeth grazed the sensitive tip, sending electric shocks through Kane’s entire body.
"Cyrus—wait—" Kane gasped, but it was too late.
The sensation overwhelmed him completely. His fox ears were impossibly sensitive, and Cyrus’s gentle bite pushed him over the edge.
Kane cried out, his body convulsing as pleasure crashed through him in waves.
His release spilled across the expensive silk sheets, marking them with evidence of their intimacy.
Kane collapsed against Cyrus, trembling and breathless, his ears still tingling from the dragon’s touch.
"Sensitive," Cyrus observed with dark satisfaction against Kane’s neck.
"Sorry," Kane mumbled into the pillow, his face burning with embarrassment. "I made a mess of your expensive sheets."
Cyrus’s low chuckle rumbled against Kane’s back.
Before Kane could recover fully, Cyrus’s hands gripped his hips, flipping him over with effortless strength.
Kane found himself face-down against the cool silk, Cyrus’s weight settling over him.
"My turn," Cyrus murmured against the shell of Kane’s ear, his breath hot and promising.
