Chapter 1159 - 593: Two Skulls in the Wilderness

In such a short time, a breakthrough was made in the case, the criminal suspect was captured and confessed to the entire crime, Deputy Director Chen Guan was very pleased.

That evening, he specially hosted a dinner to thank Director Hou and Jiang An.

After several rounds of drinks and dishes, Deputy Director Chen Guan raised his glass: "Director Hou, here’s to you! This case couldn’t have been solved without the efforts of you and Mr. Jiang."

Director Hou waved his hand with a smile: "You’re too kind, your preliminary work was solid, and the chain of evidence was well established."

Qin Feng poured white wine for Jiang An: "Mr. Jiang, your analysis this time was spot on, like having a divine insight! Here’s to you!"

Hearing this, Director Hou nodded: "In terms of analysis, Mr. Jiang is much better than me, with limitless potential!"

Jiang An hurriedly raised his glass: "Director Hou, don’t say that, I’m far behind, I need to learn more from you."

Qin Feng said: "I need to learn from Director Hou and Mr. Jiang! Come on, cheers!"

Before long, the four clinked glasses and drank it all!

After putting his glass down, Director Hou said: "This time working with Jiang An, I witnessed the strength of Mr. Jiang, I’ll make sure to report it back and give the due recognition!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Feng’s eyes lit up, he quickly pulled Jiang An alongside to raise the glass: "Director Hou, you’re too kind! Let’s toast to Director Hou together!"

....

This round of drinks was to celebrate the case’s resolution, throughout the night, everyone exchanged glasses, sharing both the camaraderie of brothers and their investigative skills.

After the banquet ended that night, Director Hou planned to head back to the provincial office the next morning.

After all, he’d been in Guangling for quite a while and initially came just to resolve an old unsolved case.

But now, not only was the cold case solved, but a current case was also cracked.

The next morning at nine o’clock, Jiang An and Director Hou, having washed and packed, took the elevator downstairs.

However, when they arrived at the hotel lobby, they saw Qin Feng and Deputy Director Chen Guan coming too.

"Mr. Chen, there’s no need for you to see us off."

"I already mentioned last night, everyone has been tired recently, take a good rest."

"Director Hou, without the strong support of you and Mr. Jiang in this case process, we might still be scratching our heads..."

While talking, he specifically held the hands of Director Hou and Jiang An to express his gratitude.

Director Hou smiled, "Mr. Chen, you’re too modest, with your criminal investigation skills at Guangling, solving the case wouldn’t have been a problem, just might have taken a bit longer."

Then, Qin Feng said: "Director Hou, Mr. Jiang, we drank quite a bit last night, let’s go and have some steamed soup buns and porridge this morning to settle our stomachs before heading back to the provincial office."

"It’s not a short trip, takes nearly more than four hours."

Director Hou, upon hearing this, turned to Jiang An and said: "Mr. Jiang, what do you think?"

"I’m listening to Director Hou, you are my team leader."

"Oh, I may be the leader of the supervision team, but you’re better than me in the group."

"Alright then, it’s more polite to accept than to decline, let’s try their signature steamed soup buns before we leave, the taste was quite good last time."

With that, the four headed towards the door.

But just as they were about to open the car door and get in, suddenly Qin Feng’s phone rang.

He glanced at it, it was Mr. Yang, the director of the East Mountain Police Station, calling.

"Hello, Mr. Yang?"

"Mr. Qin, reporting to you this early, I hope it’s appropriate."

"Nothing inappropriate, what’s the matter?"

"We found white bones in the mountains of our jurisdiction."

"On the mountain? White bones?" Qin Feng paused for a moment, then said, "There are many earth burials in your area, could it be that some wild dogs or animals dug up someone’s grave?"

Hearing this, the other end of the phone said: "Mr. Qin, we thought that at first too, but it turned out to be much more complicated."

"Because we found two skulls, and the bodies seemed to be wearing the usual clothes of people."

Upon hearing this, Qin Feng froze.

For someone like him, who’s been working on criminal investigations for years, this news was as shocking as a bolt from the blue.

At this moment, the hand that had just opened the car door was lowered, and he took a step back from the car.

Deputy Director Chen Guan noticed his unusual behavior and quickly asked him: "What is it? Is there a case?"

Hearing this, Qin Feng nodded and said: "Mr. Chen, this case is not simple!"

Upon hearing this, both Director Hou and Jiang An froze, looking puzzled.

The frequency of these cases is too high.

Immediately, Deputy Director Chen Guan awkwardly smiled and said: "Mr. Qin, what’s so alarming about this case, we’ve already kept the provincial office leaders here for a long time."

"Let’s go, let’s have breakfast with them first, and then we can deal with it ourselves."

Deputy Director Chen Guan initially thought it was just an ordinary criminal case, but Qin Feng looked serious and said: "Mr. Chen, Director Yang found white bones in their jurisdiction."

"White bones? That’s not unusual, is it? After all, it’s East Mountain."

"But, I just asked him if it could be buried bones suddenly uncovered by some animals because we’ve encountered such situations in previous cases."

"However, Director Yang directly said on the phone that it wasn’t so, he said there were two skulls, and the deceased were wearing different clothes."

Just as he finished speaking, Jiang An asked: "Were two skulls discovered, or were there only two skulls?"

This question left the three more shocked than ever.
