Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Taming the Picky Little Lion

The fluffy animals had expended a lot of energy while ice skating. Furthermore, after the Canglan Hunting Eagle and the Mengji Snow Leopard had sprinted all the way with Liang He to rescue the Little Black Snake, they were already famished.

To reward and treat them, Liang He prepared a grand feast. There was raw meat, canned food, roast chicken, as well as fruits and vegetables—a fully balanced and nutritious meal.

"Huh? Little Black, you’re awake?"

Liang He had been watching the fluffy animals bury their heads in their food. She was just about to check on the Little Black Snake’s condition when she met his round, black eyes. Only then did she realize he had woken up.

"Perfect timing. I’ve prepared a special can of food for you, too. I’ll go get it from the kitchen."

The Little Black Snake had suffered frostbite. No matter how you looked at it, he was a sick beast and naturally needed a patient’s meal.

Elias looked at the can in front of him, which was about the same size as his coiled-up body. He suddenly felt that Liang He didn’t entirely neglect him after all.

"Why aren’t you eating? Do you not like it?"

Seeing the Little Black Snake just looking up without taking a bite, Liang He assumed he couldn’t move. She gently pushed the can a little closer to him.

"HISS."

Elias had originally intended to act a bit reserved. However, smelling the fragrant aroma of the canned food with an empty stomach, he could no longer hold back and began enjoying his exclusive patient’s meal.

Seeing him eat so well, Liang He finally breathed a sigh of relief. But in the next blink, she caught sight of the Platinum Giant Lion stealthily tossing his vegetables into the Iron-eating Beast’s bowl. She quickly stood up, walked over, and caught him red-handed.

"Cyril, how can you be a picky eater?"

Having raised so many fluffy animals, Liang He discovered that Cyril was the pickiest of them all. Even if the other animals had fruits and vegetables they disliked, they would swallow them whole as long as Liang He offered them. Sharing with other beasts? Absolutely impossible!

"Cyril, being a picky eater isn’t something a good boy should do."

If Cyril was allergic to a certain food, or simply disliked a small portion of fruits and vegetables, Liang He would never force him. But the Platinum Giant Lion refused to eat any fruits or vegetables whatsoever. It was fine when Liang He was around, but the moment she was out of sight, Cyril would start acting up.

"ROAR."

The Platinum Giant Lion acted cute toward Liang He, not feeling he had done anything wrong in the slightest. After all, Xuan Jiao was happily munching on the extra fruits and vegetables in his bowl. He wondered why the two-legged beast would criticize him when he was obviously a good Beast Beast who loved to share.

It was a good thing Liang He didn’t know what Cyril was thinking, or she would have laughed out of sheer exasperation.

"You’re just bullying Jiao Jiao for being too honest."

Liang He gently tapped the Platinum Giant Lion on the nose. Slightly unaccustomed to the gesture, Cyril vigorously shook his head, GRUMBLE GRUMBLE. As a result, he lost his footing, stepped on his own paw, and instantly took a spectacular tumble, falling flat on his back.

"PFFT..."

Liang He completely hadn’t expected a fluffy animal to trip over himself. Looking at the bewildered Platinum Giant Lion with all four paws in the air, she couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing.

"Haha! Cyril, how can you be so endearingly silly!"

Excellent. Following the tags of being a picky, delicate baby with a girlish heart who loved jumping through hoops, Cyril had just earned another label—foolish.

The adorkable little lion lay on the ground in embarrassment. He twisted his slightly round body in an attempt to get up, but the floor was too slippery for him to manage it.

"ROAR! ROAR!"

"Alright, alright, I won’t laugh at you anymore. Give me your paws."

The aggrieved Cyril cried out to Liang He for help. Worried about hurting his feelings, Liang He hurriedly grabbed his front paws and helped the Platinum Giant Lion stand firmly.

"ROAR..."

Having lost face as a beast in front of everyone, the Platinum Giant Lion whined in protest against Liang He. Then, he trotted off angrily to the corner to face the wall. His tail was curled up, making him look incredibly pitiful. However, only Liang He noticed that his ears would twitch from time to time; he was clearly paying close attention to any movement on her end.

A hint of slyness flashed through Liang He’s eyes. She picked out the fruits and vegetables that originally belonged to Cyril from Xuan Jiao’s bowl. Fortunately, Xuan Jiao wasn’t territorial about his food, and since Liang He had given him a generous portion, he didn’t mind at all.

"Cyril?"

Keenly sensing Liang He slowly approaching and hearing her gentle call, the Platinum Giant Lion was just wondering how he could make the two-legged beast coax him. But suddenly, a large basin descended from above and was placed right in front of him.

Looking down, he saw that it was filled entirely with the fruits and vegetables he had sneakily tossed into the Iron-eating Beast’s bowl.

"ROAR?!"

To be honest, it was Liang He’s first time seeing such an expression of absolute, disbelieving shock on a lion’s face.

Cyril thought indignantly, "I’m already facing the wall in anger. Instead of coaxing me, you actually put this disgusting food in front of me? Are you a devil?!"

"No need to thank me too much. I know you’re a good boy, and even when reflecting on your mistakes in the corner, you wouldn’t waste these fruits and vegetables. So, I specially brought them over for you."

Excellent. Liang He had started to sweet-talk the fluffy animals again.

Being sweet-talked for the very first time, the Platinum Giant Lion didn’t understand her tactics and only heard Liang He’s praising tone. He looked at Liang He, then glanced down at the food bowl. Finally, he gritted his teeth, stomped his paw, and tossed everything in the bowl—both what he liked and what he hated—into his mouth. Chewing rapidly, he swallowed it all down.

"ROAR!"

He stared at her, thinking, "I’m a good boy, please praise me!"

Meeting Cyril’s sparkling emerald eyes, Liang He initiated her praise mode exactly as he wished. She also took the opportunity to smooth out his mane, which had flattened from rubbing against the food bowl.

"Wow, Cyril is amazing! You actually finished it all!"

"ROAR."

Dizzy with praise, the Platinum Giant Lion began to puff out his chest and hold his head high again. He patrolled his territory as if taking an after-dinner stroll, completely forgetting his previous embarrassing tumble. He even took it upon himself to help Liang He supervise whether the other Beast Beasts were being picky eaters.

While Liang He had easily tamed another ferocious beast, the Black Wizard was making no progress whatsoever on his end.

"Can someone tell me if he was sent here for me to study, or for me to serve him?!"

This was already the third day since the Black Wizard had met the Spirit Deer Beastman. For the past three days, his main job hadn’t been research, but rather serving this beastman—catering to his eating, drinking, and entertainment!

"Why are you so anxious, Lord Black Wizard?"

General Nick stood to the side, observing the Spirit Deer Beastman through the glass window.

Although the Spirit Deer Beastman was in human form, he never retracted his highly aggressive antlers, so he basically always appeared in the form of a Half-beastman. Looking at those antlers glowing with a rainbow-colored light, even General Nick couldn’t help but marvel at his beauty. It seemed that ugliness simply didn’t exist in the world of Beastmen; they truly were the darlings of the heavens.

"Even though he is an SSS-grade Beastman, he has never been in contact with the outside world. He is naive and ignorant. The Leader’s intention is to make him willingly serve our army."

The Rebel Army had finally managed to capture an SSS-grade Beastman who was so gullible, so they naturally had to exploit him to the fullest.

"So, I’m supposed to just keep serving him like this?!"

The Black Wizard was so angry that his hair nearly stood on end. Ever since he arrived at the Rebel Army, he had maintained a lofty and untouchable persona. Now he had become the nanny for an SSS-grade Beastman. Who could endure this?!

"The Leader means that you can emulate Liang He. By approaching the Spirit Deer Beastman in the role of a Breeder, cultivating a good relationship with him will ultimately benefit your research."

The Leader’s intention. Always the Leader’s intention!

Nick kept bringing up the Leader in every other sentence, clearly just trying to use the Leader to suppress him!

"Absurd! You want me to serve an experimental subject? Keep dreaming!"

The Black Wizard flicked his robes fiercely and stormed off in anger, completely missing the meaningful look in Nick’s eyes. Some people, having sat in high positions for too long, had forgotten just how lowly they once were.

"Go bring that Dark Night Wolf King over and lock him up with the Spirit Deer."

"Yes, sir!"
