The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Lining Up to Get Paws Wiped, Competing for Favor Even While Sleeping
What Xu Yi had mentioned earlier about the War Beast Army wasn’t entirely a lie. Especially after the emergence of the Fierce Beast Army, it had indeed become a major weapon for the Rebel Army and a formidable enemy of the Federation Army.
However, just as they had expected, unless special methods were used, most ordinary animals wouldn’t follow human commands. Even the occasionally highly intelligent ones that could understand commands weren’t necessarily willing to obey.
Therefore, for now, the only animals willing to cooperate with humans and demonstrating extremely high obedience were military dogs, which were generally used for search and rescue or tracking.
"If everyone could communicate and cooperate with animals like Liang He does, let alone a War Beast Army, I think a Beast Taming Army wouldn’t be impossible."
A War Beast Army likely relied primarily on the beasts, letting them attack the enemy freely. But without any strategy, they wouldn’t be able to coordinate with the Federation Army in battle. Their actual combat power on the battlefield would be significantly reduced, and there would even be instances of their own beasts attacking their own people.
A Beast Taming Army, however, would be completely different. With humans taking the lead and issuing commands, the war beasts would cooperate and attack precisely where directed, drastically increasing their combat power.
"Keep dreaming."
Huo An cast a cold, ruthless glance at Xu Yi before shifting his gaze to Liang He, who was completely immersed in slaughtering the Fierce Beasts. If everyone were like Liang He, how could she have become the precious treasure for whom the entire Federation was willing to put on an act?
"SWISH SWISH SWISH!"
As Liang He’s coordination with the Beast Beasts improved, whenever a Fierce Beast was kicked into the air, Liang He’s arrows would arrive exactly on time, hitting the mark with perfect accuracy.
Feeling like she was playing a shooting game, Liang He became increasingly addicted. It was a pity that there were only a few Fierce Beasts, and they were all dealt with in a flash.
"How is it already over? I haven’t even had enough fun yet."
Liang He disappointedly lowered her Bow and Arrow, completely oblivious to the people beside her, whose mouths were twitching in speechless disbelief. So, the Fierce Beasts they considered a major threat were nothing more than a part of Liang He and the Beastmen’s little game?
"Cedriel, Lanton, Leopard, it’s time to go home!"
She had promised to go to bed early, and look what time it was now! Liang He corralled the fluffy beasts, who had just finished a battle, and headed back, feeling completely justified in leaving the remaining mess for Huo An and the others to handle.
Watching the backs of her, the Canglan Hunting Eagle, and the others as they casually walked away, Huo An chuckled, shook his head, and resignedly began the cleanup work.
"Huh? Jiao Jiao, why aren’t you all asleep yet?"
As soon as she brought the fluffy beasts into the service area, Liang He saw the Iron-eating Beast and the Silver Moon Wolf crouching in front of their respective room’s glass windows. As for the panda cub and the little wolf pups, they were sleeping soundly.
"UNH~"
"AWOO~"
Seeing that they had returned safely and the dangerous aura had vanished, the Iron-eating Beast and the Silver Moon Wolf immediately greeted Liang He gently. Then, they found comfortable spots and went to sleep.
"Alright, it’s time for you to go to bed too."
Seeing the Iron-eating Beast and the Silver Moon Wolf obediently go to sleep, Liang He began to urge the Mojin King Tiger and the others. It was supposed to be a quick outing before bed, but it had turned into a full-blown workout. Fortunately, the fluffies weren’t hurt; otherwise, the Fierce Beasts probably wouldn’t have died such quick deaths.
"Come on, line up to get your paws wiped. No cutting in line."
Liang He stood at the door holding a clean towel. The Beast Beasts were only allowed to step into the dormitory after a simple cleaning.
"AWOO~"
The Mojin King Tiger was the first to finish getting clean. He dashed toward the twenty-square-meter bed, occupied his usual spot closest to Liang He, and obediently lay down, warming the bed while waiting for her.
"SCREECH~"
Second place went to the Canglan Hunting Eagle. He usually slept in a tree, but perhaps tonight’s strenuous pre-bedtime exercise had tired him out too much, so he simply flopped down on the other side of where Liang He slept.
By the time the Mengji Snow Leopard slowly got his paws wiped and returned, he saw that the only spot left closest to Liang He was at the foot of the bed. Every other spot was separated from her by another beast. He was absolutely furious.
"MEOW!"
The Mengji Snow Leopard started complaining to Liang He, implying that the Canglan Hunting Eagle had stolen his spot.
"Alright, be a good boy, Leopard. How about you sleep in my spot, and I’ll sleep at the very top?"
To be an impartial parent, Liang He thought it over and ultimately decided to have the Beast Beasts sleep in a row while she lay horizontally above their heads. This way, every single beast could lean against her.
"MEOW~"
Fortunately, the Mengji Snow Leopard knew when to stop and happily accepted Liang He’s proposal. When he lay down in Liang He’s original spot, he could even smell her lingering scent, which made him happily bite his own tail and curl up into a circle.
Having finally coaxed all the fluffy beasts to sleep, Liang He started pondering over the Fierce Beasts they had encountered tonight. Logically speaking, with Dass dead, it shouldn’t have been so easy for the Rebel Army to let Fierce Beasts in, let alone seven or eight of them—a number far exceeding what they had encountered before.
"So, where did things go wrong?" Liang He mentally reviewed the situation with her eyes closed and quickly pinpointed the crucial issue. She wondered if it could be that person.
Huo An still didn’t know that Liang He had deduced there was a mole inside the reserve just based on the Fierce Beasts that appeared that night. By the time he finished working through the night and handling the aftermath, it was already morning. He then helped Liang He contact the director of the Animal Research Institute to request more personnel, only to be caught by the minister of the medical department.
"Governor Huo, I heard that a Silver Moon Wolf with very strong regenerative abilities has appeared in your reserve?"
The report Xu Yi had submitted earlier was immediately sent to the medical department, straight onto Minister Yiding’s lab table, upon the discovery of something unusual. As for why it was a lab table instead of a desk, it was naturally because Minister Yiding was a fanatical animal medicine researcher.
"Yes, Minister Yiding, but perhaps it was a fluke. As you know, in the face of life, miracles always happen." As a layman, Huo An didn’t understand Xu Yi and Minister Yiding’s high level of interest in this matter, but he instinctively separated it from Liang He.
"Governor Huo, you really are getting better and better at speaking." Minister Yiding joked about Huo An with the director, but didn’t press the matter further. However, the Veterinarian personnel Huo An wanted still required Minister Yiding’s approval before they could be dispatched. Being able to enter the reserve as a Veterinarian also meant having more opportunities to observe animals at close range. This was highly meaningful for medical research, so it was considered a highly sought-after position.
"Then I will have to trouble the director and Minister Yiding to put some thought into it." Having resolved the personnel issue, Huo An chatted with them for a few more sentences before immediately hanging up the comms. With a considerable headache, he collapsed onto the sofa and closed his eyes to rest.
Meanwhile, Liang He was already awake and carrying bowls of milk to feed the panda cub and the Iron-eating Beast.
"Xingbao, Jiao Jiao, time to drink your milk!"
"UNH~"
The moment they saw the bowls of milk, Xingbao and Xuan Jiao’s eyes began to sparkle. Xuan Jiao suddenly felt that the bamboo shoot in his paws didn’t seem quite as appetizing anymore.
"Alright, drink slowly."
The fluffy beasts had all gone out hunting. Whether they caught any prey was secondary; the main goal was to burn off their excessive spiritual power, otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. Next to them, the Silver Moon Wolf was being grabbed by Xu Yi for a routine checkup and medication application. Since it wasn’t convenient for Liang He to interrupt, she simply snuggled up with the Iron-eating Beast.
"Do you guys want to go out for some fresh air too? It’s not good to stay indoors all day."
"UNH!"
She could tell that the Iron-eating Beast was very happy with this idea, so Liang He took him and the panda cub to play in the service area for a while.
Hoder, who had just finished unloading supplies from the transport vehicle, turned around and immediately witnessed an animal show.
"Holy shit, what is this? An Iron-eating Beast balancing a ball?"
