Chapter 236: Chapter 236: The Die-Hard Fan Shows Up Again~

Liang He turned toward the voice and was surprised to see a familiar face.

"You’re... Lick?"

Like Liang He, Lick was an animal blogger and one of her first-generation fans. When she had visited Greenfield Star the last time, he was the one who hosted her. However, due to personal reasons, he had unfortunately been forced to leave early, which inadvertently allowed him to avoid the Rebel Army’s attack.

"It’s me! Miss Liang He, we meet again!"

Seeing that she still remembered him, Lick was visibly thrilled. Back on Greenfield Star, he had bitterly regretted leaving early, as it meant missing out on so many opportunities to spend time with her.

"Why are you here?"

Liang He was a bit surprised by his presence. She wasn’t on Skalan Star to attend a training session or anything similar, nor did she need volunteers.

"Lick is a member of the Animal Protection Association. He’s shadowing me this time to learn."

Just as Lick was about to explain, President Lucas, who had come out with Huo An to see what the commotion was about, overheard them and casually interjected.

"I know this kid is your... what do you call it?" President Lucas suddenly drew a blank, unable to recall the trendy term.

"A die-hard fan! I’m Miss Liang He’s die-hard fan!"

Lick excitedly finished President Lucas’s sentence, his booming voice shocking Liang He into silence.

For all her foresight, she hadn’t anticipated that someone other than the fluffies could launch a sonic attack on her.

"Um... how about we go inside to talk?"

Liang He had already spotted quite a few crew members secretly watching from upstairs. She felt like she was going to die of embarrassment all over again.

"That works. Why don’t we all head to the lounge and chat?"

Huo An, who had also noticed her predicament, immediately stepped in to help her out.

"Deputy Governor Goring has already arranged a room."

To make it easier for them to discuss official business, Deputy Governor Goring had specifically cleared out a lounge for them to use.

"Okay, but what about all these fish..." Liang He hadn’t forgotten that Lanton had spent all this time hunting without actually eating.

"Lanton, let’s talk about this. There are too many fish here. How about we let the crew keep the edible ones and release the rest back into the sea?"

A Canglan Hunting Eagle naturally didn’t have to worry about whether its prey was a protected species, but it was a different story if the fish were going to be eaten by humans.

"Then I’ll ask the chef to cook a portion of the fish for you, and the rest can be added to everyone’s lunch menu. How does that sound?"

Hundreds of pounds of fish were enough to feed Lanton for a long while. The leftovers would have to be frozen, so it was much better to just let him eat fresh fish every day. Besides, she doubted he would want to eat fish every single day. Sharing the catch with the crew might also make them act friendlier toward him.

Of course, all of this hinged on Lanton’s consent. After all, he had worked hard to catch these fish, and Liang He had no right to dispose of them on her own.

"SCREECH~"

Just as Liang He suspected, it had been a long time since Lanton had fished to his heart’s content, so he had gotten a little carried away. When he realized what he had done, he was troubled too, terrified that she would actually make him eat it all. He was very satisfied with this proposed solution.

"Good boy." Seeing that he agreed to her suggestion, Liang He praised him before asking the dining hall staff to help process the fish.

"I’ll have to trouble you with this. Please save a portion and steam it for Lanton. He hasn’t eaten yet."

"Alright, no problem!"

Since they worked at sea year-round, identifying fish species was second nature to them. Although they were used to eating fish, this was their first time tasting a catch brought back by the Commander. They were more than eager to help.

"Alright then. Since that’s settled, let’s go wait in the lounge."

President Lucas was highly appreciative of how Liang He handled the situation. When he had first heard of her, he assumed she was a girl who lived in a bubble, devoting herself entirely to animals while turning a blind eye to the outside world.

However, from the incident with Vice President Tai Nan to her current social grace, Liang He had proven to be truly outstanding. Her character and values were both impeccable. She was indeed worthy of being the successor he had chosen at first glance.

"Liang He, do you have any concrete ideas regarding asking the animals for help?"

The group sat around the lounge. Liang He was still flanked by the Mojin King Tiger and the Canglan Hunting Eagle, who guarded her like two door gods.

Although Huo An’s conversation with Goring and the others the previous night hadn’t been very pleasant, he knew that with Liang He’s personality, she wouldn’t just stand by and do nothing now that she was here. Thus, he was more interested in knowing what she planned to do next.

"Asking the animals for help? Like when you helped find the Little Elephant back on Greenfield Star?"

Lick only knew that Liang He was on Skalan Star to help, but he hadn’t known the specifics. Hearing Huo An’s words, he was brimming with excitement and anticipation. Back when they were searching for the Little Elephant, Lick had managed to catch the live stream. But later, when Liang He led a group of fluffies to fend off the Fierce Beast Army, he hadn’t been there, which had always been a source of great regret for him.

"Quiet down, kid, and listen to what Liang He has to say." President Lucas gestured for Lick not to interrupt so casually, as it was quite impolite.

"Sorry, sorry, I’m just too excited."

Having been reprimanded and realizing his inappropriate behavior, Lick repeatedly apologized. Fortunately, neither Huo An nor Liang He were petty, and they didn’t take it to heart.

"It’s fine, President. There are no outsiders here, so let’s just keep things casual." Liang He spoke up for Lick. He was her fan, after all, and deserved to be pampered a little.

"Regarding Deputy Governor Goring’s proposal, I thought about it carefully after I went back last night. Putting it into practice will require a bit of time."

Her ability to communicate with animals without barriers had indeed been effectively verified, but she wasn’t sure if it would work the same way with marine life. Furthermore, if they wanted the animals’ help to explore the Mysterious Sea Area, choosing the right creatures for the investigation would be crucial.

"Moreover, when it comes to selecting animals, we might not be able to get exactly what we ask for."

As an Ocean Planet, Skalan Star possessed unimaginably vast expanses of water. Liang He wasn’t powerful enough to stand on one side of the planet and summon animals from the other.

"Indeed. Regardless, this is an entirely new endeavor. Even if it fails, you shouldn’t take it to heart."

President Lucas was already immensely grateful that Liang He had given him face and come to help without regard for her own safety. As for the outcome, they could only do their best and leave the rest to fate. Even if she failed, it wouldn’t be her fault; she had no obligation in this matter to begin with.

"That’s right, that’s right! Liang He, please don’t put too much pressure on yourself!"

As a loyal fan, Lick naturally stood on her side. He had witnessed her rise step by step, feeling almost like a proud parent watching her grow, and he genuinely cared for her well-being. The only reason he had been able to follow President Lucas to Skalan Star this time was because he had heard Liang He would be there, prompting him to shamelessly beg the president for permission.

"I understand. You don’t need to worry about me."

As long as the fluffies’ safety wasn’t compromised, Liang He never cared about any gossip directed at her. However, if possible, she still hoped to successfully bring back those missing Guard Team members.

"I’d like to ask, when would it be convenient for Ao Ke to come over?"
