Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Service Area Reaches Full Capacity for the First Time
Silver Li felt extremely wronged. The Holy Daughter was asking him what was going on, but who was he supposed to ask?!
Fortunately, Liang He quickly diverted Silver Feather’s attention, saving him the trouble of wasting his breath explaining.
"Ah Ling, I just gave Yin Qi a quick checkup and found nothing abnormal. I want to observe him for a couple of days and see how things go."
Initially, Silver Feather had told Liang He that Yin Qi was lethargic and sleeping for increasingly longer periods.
Since Liang He hadn’t known that Yin Qi was actually a Qilin, she hadn’t thought much of it. But now that she knew Yin Qi was a genuine Divine Beast, she couldn’t just treat him like an ordinary animal. Perhaps she should consult some ancient texts; she might find something useful.
"Alright, I’ll listen to you. Just arrange things as you see fit."
Silver Feather trusted Liang He implicitly. She believed that even if Liang He were a cold-blooded executioner, she would never intentionally harm the furry little ones.
"Then, Holy Daughter, what about us..."
Silver Li was now absolutely certain that Liang He held a transcendent position in Silver Feather’s heart. He had originally wanted to give Liang He a few more instructions, but instantly swallowed his words.
"You all will stay here temporarily and await orders."
As the Holy Daughter, it was perfectly normal for her to dispatch the Priests and others. Silver Li didn’t need to worry about being unable to explain things to the High Priest.
"Yes, ma’am!"
"In that case, I’ll have to ask you to squeeze in a bit," Liang He said.
When the new dormitories were built, the animal dorms featured skylights so the fluffy ones could bask in the sun. The floor above the indoor activity room was a sunroom, serving as a recreational area for everyone and the fluffy animals. Therefore, only the spaces above the kitchen, the medical room, and the floor where Hodder Lan Zhuo and the others lived were built with a few small suites.
"It’s fine, just having a place to sleep is good enough."
Silver Li didn’t put on the airs of a Priest at all. Jokes aside, when the Holy Daughter was being so ’amiable and approachable,’ putting on airs would just be inviting punishment.
"You are the host, just arrange things as you see fit."
"Alright, Hoder."
Since the guests had said as much, Liang He didn’t stand on ceremony and called Hoder over first.
"Hoder, would it be convenient for you to squeeze into a room with Silver Shuttle?"
Lately, Hoder had been keeping watch in the animal dorms and hadn’t really gone back to his room to sleep. However, once the poisoning incident was resolved, they would still have to face this issue, so Liang He needed to discuss it in advance. Aside from Lan Zhuo, Silver Feather also needed a private room since she was a girl.
"Lan Zhuo is a bit of a germaphobe and needs to focus on his research, so he probably needs to be kept in a quiet space."
"I have no problem with it. It depends on Silver Shuttle," Hoder replied.
Silver Shuttle, having been mentioned, hurriedly nodded to indicate that he had no problem with it either.
There were eight dormitory rooms in total, and in the blink of an eye, only six were left. Silver Li had brought twelve Divine Envoys. Even with Silver Shuttle and Hoder sharing a room, they were still short on space.
"Of the five remaining rooms, each has an en-suite bathroom. Two people can share a room, but the other three will have to make do with staying in the sunroom. Is that okay?" Liang He asked.
Although it was a sunroom, the roof had blackout curtains. Once lowered, it could function as a normal room, and it was also equipped with a restroom.
"No problem!"
This arrangement was already much better than what Silver Li had initially expected.
"Alright then, you all can decide the specific room assignments among yourselves."
Liang He didn’t micromanage. As the Priest leading the team, Silver Li would likely have his own ideas based on various security considerations.
"If it’s convenient, I hope to stay next to the medical room. Would that be okay?" Silver Li asked.
Leaving Yin Qi alone in the medical room still made Silver Li a bit uneasy. It wasn’t a lack of trust, but rather a protective instinct toward the Divine Son himself.
"Sure. I’m staying in the animal dorms right now anyway, so my room is empty. This will also save Silver Shuttle the trouble of moving his things around."
Hoder was never one to fuss over trivial matters, so naturally, he wouldn’t mind such a small thing. He very generously offered up his bedroom.
As for the other Divine Envoys, they sorted things out among themselves and quickly decided on their respective rooms.
"It’s getting late. Everyone should get some rest," Silver Feather spoke up.
Since Silver Feather had spoken, Silver Li and the others naturally didn’t dare to disobey. They retreated to their rooms one by one. Out of habit, however, they still left a two-person team to patrol, rotating shifts through the night.
Liang He had no objections to this. After all, Yin Qi was a genuine Divine Beast; she felt it was only right to be a little cautious.
"ROAR!"
Just as Liang He was preparing to head back to the dorm to rest and check on how the fluffy animals were doing, Yin Qi, who had been left alone in the medical room, began to let out dissatisfied low roars.
"What’s wrong with Yin Qi?"
Silver Feather furrowed her brows slightly, not understanding why Yin Qi was acting so unusually today. It was completely different from his previous state.
"Could it be that he’s not used to the new environment? Besides, being locked in the medical room isn’t much different from being in a large cage, right?"
Silver Shuttle, who had subconsciously voiced his thoughts, only belatedly noticed the stares from those around him. Looking a bit chagrined, he lightly slapped his own mouth. His mouth really was faster than his brain.
"Actually, I think it looks more like he’s reluctant to let Liang He leave."
Compared to Silver Feather and the others, Hoder was far too familiar with this kind of situation. This was exactly the same as the Mengji Snow Leopards and the others; they just loved sticking to Liang He. Although he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes back then, he had heard about how Cedriel had immediately clung to Liang He during their very first meeting. That had also been the catalyst that brought Liang He to everyone’s attention.
"...No way, right?"
Silver Shuttle found it completely unbelievable. What should he do? He felt the past image of the Divine Son in his mind beginning to blur, gradually being replaced by the sycophantic image of Cyril and the others. Could the Divine Son of their Silver Wing Temple really turn into Liang He’s little tagalong beast?
"ROAR!"
Alright, no further explanation was needed. Yin Qi had already given his answer—he simply didn’t want Liang He to leave. But Liang He couldn’t really abandon the other Beast Beasts just for his sake, let alone the fact that there was still an unconscious Iron-eating Beast waiting for her.
"Be a good boy, Yin Qi. I’ll come see you again tomorrow. Just go to sleep like a good boy, okay?"
"ROAR..."
Yin Qi flicked his tail in dissatisfaction, pawing at the ground as he paced back and forth in front of the medical room door. He was clearly in a very sour mood.
"The D-Divine Beast sure is clingy, haha..."
Silver Shuttle, who had almost accidentally called him the Divine Son again, found his laughter growing increasingly awkward and quiet, before finally looking helplessly at Silver Feather.
"Ahem. Liang He, how about you let Yin Qi stay in the activity room? With the door between you, he’ll at least be able to see you. Maybe that’ll make him feel better?"
There were double doors between the animal dorms and the activity room, complete with glass windows that would allow Yin Qi to see Liang He at all times. However, Liang He still had her concerns.
"Yin Qi’s sudden roar just now made Kuang Ye and the others a bit uncomfortable. Even with a door separating them, I’m worried they won’t be able to adapt."
If the two sides started roaring at each other, everyone’s ears would be the ones to suffer—the deafening kind of suffering.
"I suppose you’re right."
Now at a loss, Silver Feather sighed. She couldn’t very well be so shameless as to demand that Liang He prioritize her family’s child. This kid, really... He was never this clingy when he was little!
"Perhaps, I have another way."
The situation had reached a slight impasse. Liang He was well aware of how much importance they attached to the Divine Beast, Yin Qi. Since she had promised Silver Feather that she would help take care of Yin Qi, she wouldn’t play favorites or neglect one for the other.
