The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 171: The Super Shy Cedriel
Chapter 171: Chapter 171: The Super Shy Cedriel
Silver Feather was curious if Liang He really slept with the fluffballs, so she came over to take a peek. She had initially thought that "sleeping together" meant the fluffballs having their own separate rooms while Liang He slept in her large bed. She never expected them to all squeeze together.
"Why am I suddenly feeling a little jealous of our Divine Beast?" she murmured.
That brat Yin Qi’s luck was simply too good. He got to cuddle with a pretty girl, and even sleep in the same bed!
"Ah Ling, why haven’t you gone to bed yet?"
Liang He sat up from the Iron-eating Beast’s embrace, feeling a little embarrassed. She couldn’t help but feel that Silver Feather was looking at her with a strange expression.
"You don’t need to get up. I just came to take a look; I’m heading back to sleep now."
Seeing Liang He’s slight awkwardness, Silver Feather realized she had been too presumptuous and disturbed her bonding time with the fluffballs. After saying goodnight, she returned to her room.
After confirming she had gone back to the second floor to sleep, Liang He lay back down in the center of the bed, surrounded by the fluffballs.
"Cedriel, why are you so far away from me?"
Liang He cast a puzzled glance at the Mojin King Tiger. Although he had chosen an optimal spot, there was a noticeable distance between them compared to the other fluffballs who were pressed right up against her. This wasn’t the first time. It seemed that ever since she went to Greenfield Star, the Mojin King Tiger had stopped casually sleeping pressed against her like before.
"AWOO~"
Seeing Liang He looking at him, Cedriel let out a soft cry and slowly inched a bit closer.
Because the fur on his ears was sparse and short, Liang He easily noticed that they were slightly flushed. Intrigued, she leaned in.
"Cedriel, are you feeling shy?"
Liang He’s sudden approach brought her face inches from his, instantly causing his already slightly red ears to flush intensely.
"AWOO!"
He was not!
Seeing Cedriel acting like a large cat whose tail had just been stepped on, the smile on Liang He’s lips only deepened. She forcefully wrapped her arms around Cedriel and buried her face in his fur, taking a deep, greedy sniff. She clearly felt Cedriel stiffen for a split second, but he quickly relaxed. This made Liang He feel even more justified in her forceful cuddling.
"Awoo..."
Helpless against Liang He’s shameless coaxing, Cedriel lowered his eyes to look at the whorl of hair on top of her head, a flash of doting affection passing through his golden tiger eyes.
Feeling Cedriel’s tail gently patting her back like someone coaxing a child to sleep, Liang He actually began to feel drowsy. The other fluffballs were pressed tightly against her as well, their very breaths radiating warmth. By the time Liang He woke up, it was already the next morning.
"Huh? Where did Hoder and the others go?"
Having finished washing up, Liang He prepared to make breakfast. She wanted to check if Hoder and the others were up yet, but found their door wide open and the room empty. It was the same for Lan Zhuo.
"The beds are still made. It looks like they haven’t been touched."
Full of questions, Liang He went upstairs to check on Silver Feather and Silver Shuttle. However, Silver Shuttle’s door was also open, and no one was inside. Silver Feather was in her room, though she hadn’t gotten out of bed yet.
It wasn’t until Liang He walked past the sunroom that she realized they had all slept straight through the night right there. Even Huo An hadn’t gone back.
"Goodness, how late were they playing last night?"
Silver Feather walked up to Liang He and naturally saw this scene as well.
"That brat. The moment he leaves the temple, he completely lets himself go."
She might not be able to control the others, but Silver Shuttle was still under her authority. However, Liang He figured they had probably stayed up quite late and hadn’t slept for long. If one was woken up, the rest would surely wake up too. So, she simply stopped Silver Feather.
"Let them sleep for now. I’ll take you downstairs for breakfast."
If Huo An and the others had any urgent work, their colleagues would contact them directly via their light brains. They might as well consider this a rare holiday.
"Alright then, for your sake."
Although she said that, in reality, Silver Feather was simply enticed by the prospect of breakfast. She wouldn’t be able to stay at the reserve for long. At most, she would wait until Yin Qi arrived, observe for a bit, and then leave. Therefore, every delicious meal made by Liang He was one less meal she would get to enjoy. Missing even one would be a huge loss.
"There’s quite a bit of leftover rice and a few dishes from last night. I’ll make some egg fried rice and heat up the leftovers. Is that okay?"
Generally speaking, the main meal was saved for the evening. Everyone could prepare the ingredients together in the afternoon, making it more relaxing. After dinner, they would chat and play for a while, which served as a rare and much-needed leisure activity.
"No problem! As long as you made it, I’m sure it’ll be delicious."
Silver Feather was an excellent diner. She wasn’t a picky eater and was happy just to have something to eat. In any case, compared to the bizarrely flavored nutrient solutions from before, Liang He’s cooking was practically a delicacy. She absolutely loved eating it.
"Then I’ll start prepping."
"I’ll help you!"
Silver Feather didn’t want to be a freeloader who just sat around waiting for food. If she did that, even Silver Shuttle would look more hardworking.
"Sure, then you can wash some bowls and help transfer yesterday’s leftover dishes into them. I’ll steam them all in one pot later."
The containers used for yesterday’s dishes were quite large. Heating them up one by one would risk mixing their flavors, so steaming them all together was the fastest and most convenient method. Besides, most of yesterday’s dishes would actually become more flavorful once steamed, and it wouldn’t affect their texture.
"Okay, leave it to me!"
After yesterday’s "training," Silver Feather was noticeably more skilled today. After transferring all the previous dishes into new bowls, she took the initiative to wash the dirty ones and put them away in the cupboard.
By the time Silver Feather finished her tasks, Liang He had already placed two bowls of freshly cooked egg fried rice on the kitchen island.
"I’ll go bring out the dishes from the steamer. You can start eating."
"It’s fine, I’ll help carry them."
Steaming was incredibly convenient and quick. In just about ten minutes, the piping hot dishes were served on the table.
"It looks pretty abundant, too."
Silver Feather didn’t mind at all that these were leftovers from last night. Mixing them with the egg fried rice, she ate with great relish.
"Little He, what do you usually do in the morning?"
Ever since arriving at the reserve, everything felt fresh and new to Silver Feather, so she was very curious about Liang He’s daily routine.
"I don’t have a fixed schedule. Lanton and the others go out hunting as soon as they wake up every day. If they bring prey back, I need to help process it."
Sometimes, during heavy snowfalls, the fluffballs wanted to stay indoors where it was warm and didn’t feel like going out. Liang He would never force them. Anyway, everything prioritized their happiness. Whatever made them happy was fine.
"Before my business trip, however, I placed some food and nests around the service area. I wonder if any small animals have moved in. If so, I’ll need to restock."
They had just returned the day before yesterday and then hosted Silver Feather yesterday, so Liang He simply hadn’t had the time to check on them.
"Can I go with you, then?"
Silver Feather also wanted to see Yin Qi’s future living environment. She seemingly never considered that Yin Qi might not adapt to life here; she fully intended for him to live here long-term.
"Of course."
Liang He was always happy to have company, regardless of whether they were helping out or not.
"But wouldn’t my current outfit be a bit inconvenient?"
To maintain her image as the Holy Daughter, Silver Feather’s clothes were quite elaborate and clearly unsuitable for trekking outdoors.
"It’s fine. There are new Breeder uniforms in the storage room. If you don’t mind, I can get you a set in your size."
"Great! Thank you, Little He!"
After eating, under Silver Feather’s expectant gaze, Liang He slung a backpack full of food over her shoulder, ready to take her out to feed the small animals.
"AWOO~"
