Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Who’s the Undercover? So It’s a Game~

Everyone, highly anticipating the post-dinner activities Liang He had mentioned, no longer lounged lazily in their chairs.

They took the initiative to claim a cleaning task—washing dishes, sweeping the floor, clearing the table... They made sure everyone had something to do so Liang He wouldn’t have to lift a finger.

Of course, Liang He wasn’t actually idle. She went up to the second-floor sunroom to set up the evening’s entertainment.

"Who is the Spy, Werewolf, karaoke machine, home theater..."

Liang He moved everything playable into the sunroom so the group only had to take their pick. By the time Huo An and the others finished their chores and arrived, Liang He had everything ready.

"Wow! When did the sunroom get a makeover?"

The sunroom was originally meant for sunbathing and stargazing, so apart from a few armchairs, it had been mostly empty. But under Liang He’s rapid setup, it had instantly become cozy.

"Did you buy these fairy lights from Blue Star?" Silver Feather curiously approached the fairy lights. Though they only gave off a faint glow, they brought a rich ambiance to the room. She had never seen anything like them before.

"Yeah, I bought them from a Blue Star online shopping site. If you like them, there are plenty more in the storage room that you can take back with you."

In addition to the fairy lights, there were sunset lamps, beanbags, and a massive projection screen for movies. Naturally, a warm fireplace was indispensable. Although the sunroom had a climate control system and wasn’t actually cold, it was all about the vibe!

"See if you guys want to play games or watch a movie. Or we could sing together."

"Play games!"

Neither karaoke nor watching a movie appealed to them as much as playing games, especially the untried ’Who is the Spy’ and ’Werewolf’. Both games looked extremely interesting and were very novel to everyone, causing them to fall into a momentary dilemma.

Ultimately, the vote to play ’Who is the Spy’ won by a majority, as the mechanics of ’Werewolf’ seemed a bit too complex.

"How about we play ’Who is the Spy’ first, and then ’Werewolf’?"

"Sure!"

The seven-player version of ’Who is the Spy’ perfectly allowed for two spies and five civilians. After Liang He clearly explained the rules, everyone drew a card from the table.

Nestled in the arms of the fluffballs, Liang He glanced at her card—’Trash’.

"..."

How was she supposed to describe this word? The only thing she could think of was ’recycling trash’. But she was more curious about what the other word paired with ’trash’ could be.

"Ahem, who speaks first?" Xu Yi glanced at his card, lacking confidence. He had no idea if he was a civilian or a spy.

"Let’s spin a bottle." Liang He pointed at an empty water bottle nearby. Hoder understood immediately and gave it a spin.

"It’s Silver Shuttle!"

"Then we’ll start with Silver Shuttle and go clockwise." As the one who understood the rules best, Liang He had to host a bit in addition to playing.

"I think Liang He, in my heart, is exactly this kind of person."

Silver Shuttle’s single sentence utterly dumbfounded Liang He.

She was this kind of person? What kind of person? Trash? Questioning her life choices, Liang He silently looked up at everyone with a bewildered expression. Spotting several people stifling their laughter, she instantly understood.

"Ahem, I probably am not this kind of person." Hoder believed he wasn’t a little piece of trash yet; he was very useful, thank you very much!

"Ditto." Lan Zhuo was a man of few words, as always. However, when he did speak a lot, it was quite terrifying, as he easily failed to convey his meaning. Everyone was used to it.

"Lan Zhuo, you’re suspected of piggybacking on votes," Xu Yi teased, lightly throwing suspicion onto Lan Zhuo after having just binged videos on how to play ’Who is the Spy’.

"I think I could be this kind of person."

*Could* be? The phrasing was a bit subtle, prompting Liang He to cast a couple of extra glances his way. And what was up with Xu Yi looking inexplicably proud after saying that? Was being trash something to be proud of?

"PFFT!" Hoder couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing, laughing so hard that Xu Yi felt a bit numb.

Had he said something wrong?

"Sorry, sorry, please continue."

The next to speak was Huo An, who shot Xu Yi an unfathomable glance. "I do not wish to become this kind of person."

Trash... He couldn’t afford to be that.

It was finally Liang He’s turn. She was probably the quickest one present to grasp the situation. "This word can describe a person, an animal, or other things."

Liang He’s statement was probably the most normal one. However, Silver Feather, as the last to speak, set off a roaring wave of laughter.

"In my heart, Little Shuozi is exactly this kind of person."

As soon as the words fell, Hoder spat out the water he had just taken into his mouth.

"PFFT!"

"No way... You... Haha!"

The clueless Silver Shuttle thought Silver Feather was praising him, puffing out his chest and accepting the compliment as a matter of course. "What are you laughing at? My grand-aunt is right, I am exactly this kind of person!"

Looking at the incredibly proud Silver Shuttle, even Lan Zhuo couldn’t help but turn his head, trying to control the corners of his mouth from uncontrollably twitching upward.

When Silver Shuttle was unanimously voted out, he was still immersed in Silver Feather’s rare praise. It wasn’t until the civilians won that he saw their base card.

"???"

"What the hell? Weren’t we supposed to be each other’s Angels?!"

Silver Shuttle felt his fragile little heart being pierced by three arrows in quick succession: SWISH, SWISH, SWISH.

"You are each other’s Angels. Isn’t it enough for you and Xu Yi to be each other’s Angels? Haha!" Hoder activated full mockery mode, infuriating Xu Yi enough to chase him around, ready to beat him up.

"God knows how I felt when I heard Silver Shuttle start off by basically calling Liang He trash. It was hilarious!"

"Xu Yi was super funny too. He was probably thinking that since he’s a doctor, he counts as a kind of Angel, hahahaha!"

"I think the most innocent victim here is Liang He. She got insulted out of nowhere and couldn’t even argue back."

As the victim, Liang He watched Silver Shuttle get mocked, nodded in satisfaction, and decided not to hold it against him. After all, Silver Shuttle’s original intention was to say she was like an Angel. She would just take it as a compliment.

"No way, I refuse to accept this! Let’s go again!"

"I refuse too! Let’s restart! I will definitely win this time!"

As the only two losers of the round, Xu Yi and Silver Shuttle both demanded a rematch, treating the first round as a mere warm-up.

"Alright, then everyone draw a new card."

This time, the words were ’wedding’ and ’funeral’. Liang He drew ’wedding’, and was the first to speak.

"I personally probably wouldn’t host one."

Liang He reasoned that a wedding was too tedious, and she found it troublesome. Meanwhile, everyone else reasoned that, of course, one couldn’t host their own funeral. She was a civilian!

"I have officiated this event before." As the Holy Daughter, it was the most normal thing in the world for Silver Feather to officiate funerals for the people of the temple.

Silver Shuttle, terrified of getting the spy card again, immediately straightened his back upon hearing her words, feeling a sense of clarity. "I have attended this event."

"Yours... feels a bit vague." Hoder copied Xu Yi and lightly threw suspicion onto Silver Shuttle.

"In my previous line of work, this kind of thing was very common." As a member of the Federation Army, Huo An had seen too much parting and death; naturally, funerals bidding farewell to comrades were not infrequent.

Next up was Lan Zhuo.

"I haven’t attended one." Lan Zhuo was a scientific research fanatic; social niceties basically had nothing to do with him.

Hearing this, Xu Yi also breathed a slight sigh of relief. "I have attended one, but mostly for animals."
