Chapter 167: Chapter 167: The Holy Daughter Is Truly Pitiful, Unable to Cuddle with Liang He All the Time

What stumped Xu Yi was the large pot Liang He had bought online specifically for making iron pot stew. Because there were so many people, she thought it would be nice to sit around and eat the stew together in the cold winter. So, she had prepared the cookware well in advance.

The problem was the installation. She really wasn’t good at it. She thought Xu Yi could handle it, but she didn’t expect him to be stumped as well.

"Lan Zhuo, could you go take a look?" Liang He looked at Lan Zhuo a bit sheepishly. If she knew how to do it herself, she wouldn’t have bothered him. Unfortunately, she was probably much better at taking things apart than putting them together.

"Sure, I’ll go give it a try." Lan Zhuo put down what he was doing and followed Xu Yi to the activity room, while Liang He naturally took over his unfinished work.

"What’s going on? Do Xu Yi and Lan Zhuo have an emergency?" Huo An, having finished his own tasks, had just walked in to see a sweaty Xu Yi hurriedly dragging Lan Zhuo outside.

"We’re having iron pot stew tonight, and they need to assemble the cookware," Liang He explained. Actually, if it were just a regular pot, it wouldn’t be this troublesome. But she had heard that iron pot stew cooked over a wood fire tasted better, so she had bought a wood-fired stove with a ventilation pipe. After all, they were eating in the activity room and burning wood; they had to ensure proper ventilation to avoid any safety hazards.

"Then I’ll go swap with Xu Yi and let him work in the kitchen." Knowing full well that Xu Yi wasn’t cut out for this kind of work, Huo An took the initiative to rescue him from his misery. He and Lan Zhuo figured out how to install the cookware bit by bit.

"Liang He, we’re done. Come see if this works."

Barely twenty minutes later, Huo An delivered the good news, making Xu Yi’s eyes widen in astonishment. People who hadn’t tried installing it might think it wasn’t difficult, but he had tried it himself. For him, the fact that Huo An and Lan Zhuo had it done in just over twenty minutes was truly shocking. So, what was all his frantic struggling just now? Did it just mean his practical skills were so poor that he couldn’t even handle a set of cookware?

"Great, let’s start the fire now and see if the ventilation pipe is clear." Liang He had already placed a pile of scavenged firewood in the corner of the kitchen. Since winter was quite damp and the kitchen got hot during cooking, it was the perfect spot to dry the wood. "I’ll send you a video on how to start a fire."

Liang He didn’t think they could figure out the little tricks of fire-starting on their own, so she simply found a video and sent it to their Light Brains. It would save a lot of time and help them avoid unnecessary mistakes.

"Alright, I can handle starting the fire by myself." Huo An glanced at the video and felt he could take his time and do it alone. There was no need for Lan Zhuo to join in; he could go back to helping out in the kitchen.

"It’s up to you. If you feel like you need a hand, just call us." Liang He always respected others’ decisions. Since Huo An believed he could do it alone, she wasn’t going to rain on his parade. However, just in case he couldn’t manage it but was too embarrassed to ask for help, she made it clear in advance so he wouldn’t feel awkward later.

To be fair, Huo An actually had a bit of a talent for fire-starting. It didn’t take him long to get a good blaze going.

"The ventilation pipe is fine. Are you going to start cooking now, or do you need to wait a bit?" Huo An asked.

"Iron pot stew takes some time, so let’s start prepping. I’ll bring the pot over." The fire was burning just right. Liang He brought out the iron pot, which she had already seasoned before her business trip, placed it on the wood-fired stove, and began to cook.

"It looks really interesting." Silver Feather, who had finished washing the vegetables long ago, stood beside Liang He and watched her prepare the stew, suddenly feeling a bit emotional. Everyone bustling about together for a single meal made not only the room feel warm, but her heart as well. This was a feeling she had never experienced at the temple.

"You might not know this, but Liang He is Blue Star’s culinary ambassador to the interstellar community. We’ve been blessed with so much good food by sticking with her." Ever since Liang He’s cooking videos went viral, it had sparked a massive craze for Blue Star cuisine. Thanks to the vast variety of Blue Star food, there was always something to suit everyone’s tastes. As a result, it skyrocketed in popularity. The official Blue Star authorities had even conferred upon Liang He the honorary title of Culinary Ambassador on the Star Network.

"Wow! That amazing? I’m so jealous that you guys get to live with Liang He all the time." Silver Feather was starting to regret her status as the Holy Daughter. Otherwise, she could be like Silver Shuttle and shamelessly leech off Liang He here. Even just being an ordinary Breeder and getting to eat delicious food every day would be wonderful.

"Ah Ling, you could try inviting a Blue Star chef to work at the temple. The reserve even has a dedicated cafeteria now," Liang He suggested, offering a solution. "Though the Endless Ice Domain sounds exceptionally cold. People from our hometown might not be able to handle it."

"Isn’t there a saying: ’Under a heavy reward, there will surely be a brave fellow’? Maybe the temple could just offer higher pay." Having spent so much time with Liang He, Hoder could casually quote Blue Star sayings. It left Silver Feather completely baffled until Liang He finally explained it to her.

"Blue Star’s phrases are somewhat similar to the temple’s heavenly scriptures—they both leave people completely lost in the clouds," grumbled Silver Shuttle. He hated studying and really wasn’t fond of words that required a second layer of interpretation.

"Cut the crap and hurry up with the firewood." Relying on her seniority as his great-aunt, Silver Feather raised her hand and delivered a light smack to his head, ordering Silver Shuttle around so he’d learn to be a bit more observant.

"Ouch! Great-aunt, could you hit a little lighter?" Pouting his grievances, Silver Shuttle carefully glanced at Silver Feather, then grumbled as he went to move the wood.

"Less talking." Watching the socially inept Silver Shuttle, Silver Feather felt a mix of annoyance and worry. She was annoyed that he could stay by Liang He’s side while she could only visit temporarily. Her worry stemmed from the fact that he was, after all, from the temple; she feared he would cause some new disaster and she’d be left to clean up his mess.

"Liang He, if I go back later, you don’t need to be too polite to this kid. Just beat him if he deserves it." Just thinking about how Silver Shuttle had been foolishly tricked by the Rebel Army and had almost let Liang He get kidnapped—committing a grave mistake—made Silver Feather furious. If Silver Shuttle wasn’t from the Silver Wing Temple, the trouble he had caused would never have been glossed over so easily. Of course, it was also partly due to Liang He’s magnanimity.

"Silver Shuttle is actually quite nice, just a bit ’simple’." Hoder rarely said a good word about Silver Shuttle, but that didn’t stop him from subtly mocking the boy’s intelligence. It was especially funny when he remembered the scene of getting this kid drunk to fish for information.

"Alright, let the stew simmer. Brother Hao, please keep an eye on the fire while I go make a few other dishes." Having set the iron pot stew to simmer, Liang He chuckled lightly and glanced at Silver Shuttle, who had brought the firewood and set it aside. She actually didn’t think Silver Shuttle was stupid. He was just overly protected by the temple, which was a kind of blessing in its own way.

"There are other dishes? I thought we were just having this for dinner, so I cooked a ton of rice." Thinking they were only having the iron pot stew tonight, and afraid there wouldn’t be enough food, Xu Yi had quietly prepared a huge amount of rice and now felt a bit flustered.

"It’s fine if there’s extra rice. We can have egg fried rice tomorrow morning." Overnight rice was perfect for egg fried rice. However, when there were fewer of them, portion control was easy, and they never had leftovers, so Liang He had never made it before.

"What do I do? Hearing you say that makes me want to fast forward to tomorrow morning..." While others might be eating from their bowls while eyeing the pot, Silver Shuttle hadn’t even eaten dinner yet but was already fixated on tomorrow’s breakfast.

"Liang He, your Light Brain is ringing. It seems someone is calling you."
