Chapter 216 - Bad Luck
Chapter 216: Bad Luck
While Eris was jumping in joy inside the Panagea, Aakesh was having a conversation with the system.
What the orange dot would represent in the territory was unknown to both Aakesh and the system. It was like a roulette of valuable resources inside the Panagea, and Eris could get anything.
The system had even placed a Dragon egg in the roulette. If Eris had gotten that, he would've become the strongest of the Primal dimension right away since even a newborn Dragon surpassed peak Immortals in power.
Even in Panagea, the newborn Dragon was a Level 100 creature, which would've given Eris a very strong headstart above other adventurers. He would've even won the neighboring Kingdom's territory after the end of the protection period instead of only retaining his city.
"Hey, system, why did you add an Absolute Stone?"
Aakesh asked the system. He wouldn't have cared if Eris had gotten a Dragon egg since if Eris tried to take it out, the newborn Dragon would ascend to the Sacred dimension. As for Panagea, even if he got very strong quickly, there were still countless stronger beings waiting for their turn.
He also asked this question because the system always talks about maintaining the balance of the power level inside the Primal dimension, but here it's rewarding an Absolute Stone that had enough energy to destroy all three dimensions at the same time.
[Host, there is only a 0.000000000000000000000000000000001% chance that the Titan would be able to pass the trial and gain the Absolute Stone.]
"It isn't zero," Aakesh retorted.
For Immortal beings like Eris, it was a chance still worth taking as even if he failed, he wouldn't lose a thing, and if Eris succeeded, he would've made a fortune, and even the leader of the Asura clan would've to give him face.
[Host, the Onnis, and the Absolute Stone was the worst resource on the roulette for the orange dot...]
It then began explaining why he had chosen Absolute Stone for a reward with the Onnis, as well as what kind of things it had added to the roulette.
When Aakesh learned about the trial Eris had to take, he couldn't help but think, "Even the founder of the Titan clan at his full power wouldn't be able to do this, let alone that weak Titan."
It seemed Eris's luck had finally run out, and he got the worst possible reward from the roulette for him.
Even a simple iron mine would've been better than that since Eris would gain nothing from it if he failed the trial.
The Onnis would never submit to him and wouldn't even help him after today since they had already fallen asleep and would only wake up after a millennium. Only Devas knew where would Eris be a millennia later.
While Dev was lamenting his head in disappointment, seeing Eris's luck, he acted completely opposite. After seeing the Absolute Stone as the reward of the trial, he acted as if he would never face the trial.
Eris thought the Onni leader completely removed the demon from his heart, but he was wrong. The Onni leader only removed the effect that the name of such level of item brings.
Regardless of their level and category, anything associated with Deva created greed in the hearts of anyone that saw or heard their name. Only the best of the beings could control it. Unfortunately for Eris, he wasn't one.
He was unaware that the Absolute Stone had created a demon inside his heart that would one day devour him if he failed to defeat it. Aakesh knew it, but he didn't care enough for Eris to tell him about it. It was only up to him to find out and then solve it.

Since Eris had entered the Panagea for the first time, he still hasn't started on the leveling path.
After an hour of looking at the screen in front of him, Eric calmed down and waved his hands to make the screen disappear.
The next moment, the blue screen disappeared. Not even a second had passed before a new blue window appeared in front of Eris, as if the system was waiting for him to calm down.
At first, he was taken aback by the new window, but after reading its contents he calmed down.
The new blue window contained the details of his quest.
For his quest, a new dangerous location appeared on the map of Titan city. It only consisted of ordinary hyenas.
He needed to kill every hyena in the area and clear the area to complete the quest successfully. Additionally, he needed to kill all the hyenas within five deaths.
If he died the sixth time, the quest would fail.
After completing it successfully, Eris would get Level 1 as the reward.
Eris had already learned that adventurers needed to complete a quest if they wanted to gain the first level in a normal way and then continue to level up, so he didn't get surprised.
After getting the quest, the location of the hyenas appeared on the map of the city.
It was only a mile away from the center room, and there weren't any other settlements, resource areas, or dangerous locations near it, so Eris didn't wait and rushed out to the area.
Like Eris, after seeing the story of the Panagea, Robert appeared in his territory.
Maria had gotten a hut, Eris a concrete room, and Robert got a mud house with no roof.
Unlike the other two, Robert wasn't much attached to the territory, so he chose the option of system naming the land.
The next moment, a blue window containing the details of the town appeared in front of him.
{Town: Oxley,
Ruler: Robert,
Area: 11,000 sq. miles.
No. of resources points: 983(golden dots),
No. of settlements: 259(white dots),
No. of danger points: 72,639(red dots).}
He didn't wait and directly called out the map of the town, and the next moment he cursed in anger.
Three miles away from his mud house, the Oxley town had its strongest dangerous location and around a hundred resource points in the few miles surrounding it.
"Damn it! I am not even safe in my house," He muttered in frustration as if the leader of the dangerous location suddenly went on a rampage his mud-house would also get destroyed since it wasn't very far.
In addition to the dangerous area, there was also a cluster of various resources surrounding it, so if he ever needed them, he would have to clear the area first. To do that, he needed to reach at least level 260 since the leader was a Level 255 creature, while its subordinates varied from Level 210-250.
Sigh!
He sighed in frustration, thinking about it. But the next moment, he returned to calm as there was no point in thinking about it for now, and after learning about the neighboring Kingdom and its king, he had already given up on retaining the territory.
Many may think that giving up without trying is wrong, but not Robert. He believed why to make efforts when the end result would be his loss. Using this philosophy, he had rarely gotten in conflict with others.
He instead thought to exploit as many resources in the protection period of one year as possible and when the protection period ended, he would willingly offer his territory as a tribute to the king.
The neighboring Kingdom belonged to the Nebula Elves. A race that had long vanished from the annals of history in the Primal dimension.
They didn't get extinct, but even their last bloodline member had already ascended countless years ago.
Since Nebula Elves were obsessed with the purity of their bloodline, they only procreated with their race members, not even other Elven races. Due to this, they didn't have many members.
The name of the neighboring Kingdom was the Alfihone Kingdom, and its king was a Level 750 creature, while the average level of soldiers in her army was 351.
After knowing about the level and the race of the neighboring Kingdom, Robert gave up on attempting to increase his level every day. He would instead level up normally like the other adventurers and will try to gain as many resources as possible in this year.
The gloom he had in his mind after finding his situation disappeared after he had made up his mind.
The next moment, a blue window containing his first quest appeared in front of him.
To complete the quest successfully, he needed to help the human settlement survive the beast horde with casualties not exceeding 100.
After getting the quest, he found the location of the settlement on the map.
It was thirty miles away from here and was in the opposite direction of the dangerous location.
It was a straight road, and there was nothing else in between them, so he left for it right away.

It is also the end of another year in these Hellish times.. Let's hope with this end, a new beginning appears, and we can return to the pre-Covid era.
