The First Store System

974 The Green Harrow!

Chapter 974: The Green Harrow!

Daryn’s eyes widened in astonishment as he read the details on the card.

The Green Harrow was a mid-sized creature. It looked like a tree trunk with several branches growing out of it. Its branches were covered in sharp thorns. It acted as both offense and defense for the creature.

It was the first time Dyran came across the Green Harrow, but the quality of the creature made him curious. The store owner had already told him the seven qualities of the beast available in the store.

Its price at 850 higher Sacred stones was steep, but it was something Dyran could take out to buy it.

A beast of such quality at this level had the chance of evolving into a True God. Daryn knew what could happen with a True God level creature in his pocket since he was from the capital of the Fawkes Kingdom.

Since it was only his first summon, there was a slight hesitation in Dyran’s heart about whether to make the sale or not.

Seconds turned into minutes, and Dyran finally decided to buy the beast.

Since the decision had been made, Dyran didn’t waste a second and rushed out of the room with the card in his hands.

“Store owner, please initiate the taming battle,” Dyran asked, as Aakesh had already informed him about the process of buying the beasts from the store.

Aakesh nodded and took the card from Dyran’s hands. He then did his magic as he tapped twice on the storefront’s pattern at the back of the card and handed it to Dyran.

Dyran’s face was solemn, as the result of his upcoming battle would decide whether he would be able to take it from the store.

As soon as Dyran’s hands came in contact with the card, his surroundings changed, and he found himself in a dense jungle with a creature looking like the Green Harrow in the card’s illustration standing some distance away from him.

Dyran felt awe toward the creature as he came face-to-face with it. The thorns that looked cute in the card’s illustration now looked like brutal murder weapons. Even seeing them sent a chill down Dyran’s spine.

The creature had no face to speak of, so there was no way for Dyran to judge its emotions, but at that time, Dyran didn’t need it as there was an excessively dense murderous aura around it.

The creature made the first move, and the next thing he knew, one of its thorny branches slammed into him like a whip.

Dyran couldn’t even see the attack coming as he cried out in pain the next moment.

It was only the start, and Dyran had already gotten injured. His face turned grave since if he lost, he would fail to buy the Green Harrow, and he didn’t want that to happen.

Dyran bit his teeth and tried to ignore the pain as he charged at the creature. His fist had a red glow around it. Dyran wasn’t at a disadvantage without weapons, as he was a fist user in reality.

Time flew by, and minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

Whip! Crash!

The creature got ready to release its next attack, but it didn’t have to as Dyran never stood up after crashing on the ground.

Dyran didn’t die, but he had no more energy left to stand up, as there wasn’t a single spot in his body that hadn’t turned blue from the poison released by the Harrow.

It was the end, as Dyran found himself back in the store. The next moment, the card in his hands turned into light and exploded, with light particles traveling to the device’s room.

A disappointed expression spread around Dyran’s face as he saw the scene of the card disappearing.

Lily had a mocking smile on her face as she saw the scene. If not for Aakesh telling her not to mock the customers, she would have done it.

“Unless you left the store with a beast, you can summon them,” Aakesh answered after Dyran wanted to know whether he was eligible to buy the beast from the store any longer.

A relieved expression appeared on Dyran’s face as he didn’t want to give up on a beast after learning about it. A helper with undying loyalty was extremely important to everyone.

Before Dyran could celebrate, he heard Aakesh’s second sentence, “Initiating the taming battle isn’t free. You would need to pay one percent of the total cost of the Green Harrow.”

Dyran got stumped at first as a sum of around eight higher Sacred stones wasn’t cheap for even the likes of him. But since Dyran would have to pay the cost whether he summoned another time or not, it wasn’t a tough decision to make for him.

Dyran then thanked Aakesh and turned in the direction of the room.

Time flew by, and a few minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

The Dark Gnoll was a hyena-like creature with black fur, giving it a sinister appearance.

It was Dyran’s fifth summon, including the failed one, and he finally got another beast with above Ordinary quality.

Since Dyran was already close to the number of summoning rounds set by him, he didn’t take much time to decide between buying it.

A joyous smile spread around Dyran’s face as he returned victorious in the battle against the Dark Gnoll.

“Feed it a drop of your blood and sign the contract,” Aakesh expressionlessly informed Dyran.

Dyran nodded and immediately did it, and soon the time for the payment arrived.

“You need to pay Eight hundred eight higher Sacred stones, six thousand one hundred and eleven ordinary Sacred stones, and one hundred and ten lesser Sacred stones,” Aakesh announced.

Dyran had already begun to take out the sum, and soon it was out. He then hurriedly pushed the mountain of stones toward Aakesh since he wanted to summon the beast as quickly as possible.

Aakesh didn’t let Dyran wait for long. Soon after he got an alert from the system about the amount being correct, Aakesh informed Dyran about the sale’s completion.

Time flew by, and the sun finally set down on Thorr and its nearby cities, giving Darkness a reprieve as it slowly covered the area under its umbrella.

Five more minutes passed, and finally, the store turned empty as the system forced the customers out of Panagea.

“Let’s go,” Aakesh announced, and the next moment, both he and Lily disappeared from the store’s hall and appeared in the selection arena.

Lilly jumped down from Aakesh’s head and left for her usual training environment. After she left, Aakesh’s face turned indifferent as he shut down all his senses except for direction.

Aakesh then went to the weapons section and picked one out randomly from the arsenal for today’s battles.

Aakesh then went to his right, pressing the switch, after choosing the usual training.

The next moment, the space around him cracked and soon formed a portal. Soon, a suction force more potent than anything Aakesh could hope to fight back appeared and sucked him inside.

Time flew by, and several minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

The silence in the selection area broke down as a portal emerged out of nowhere and soon Aakesh stepped out of it.

There was still some time left before Lily’s training for the day came to an end, so Aakesh decided to hone his archery skills further.

After picking the bow and selecting the training environment, Aakesh appeared in the archery area.

In front of him stood a moving bullseye, while the wind in the area was changing directions randomly.

Time flew by, and soon it was time for Aakesh to enter Panagea.

Since the leaderboard had become active, Aakesh focused on it. The current leaderboard only stored fifty names, and there was one for each on it since there were more than fifty Panagea customers.

On the second leaderboard, there were only three names, with William taking the lead and Richard at the third rank.

Aakesh then touched the nearest portal using only the tip of his finger, and the next moment, he was sucked inside and appeared at the same spot in Panagea he had left yesterday.
