The First Store System

766 Assistant Selection(3)

Chapter 766: Assistant Selection(3)

Aakesh set the duration of the contest as five hundred years. It was longer than the time it took for the territory competition to end.

Still, Aakesh wasn’t entirely confident that he would get an assistant from the contest.

The format of both competitions was different. Here, it all depended on the thinking of the store owners since the store owners wouldn’t be able to fight; they could only use schemes to make things go as per their desires.

The tower behind Aakesh still hadn’t disappeared since it would again be the battlefield of these more than five hundred million participants.

The next moment, Aakesh activated the tower, and similar to the last time, a starry sky presented itself on the first level.

In the competition, there was only one world for the participants, so the other three floors continued being towers.

“You can enter. The competition has begun,” Aakesh expressionlessly ordered as he moved away from the portal.

The participant did as ordered and began to enter the portal in a straight line. After several minutes, only Aakesh remained standing on the platform while all the shining stars on the first level had turned grey.

After all the participants had entered, the portal disappeared. The next moment, the black screen lightened up again as it fragmented to match the total number of participants.

Since the process of watching the contest was the same as the last one, the attendees randomly chose their first participant and began to witness the situation.

The world chosen for the contest was different from the territory’s competition.

This world was larger and had a higher population. When the participant appeared in their stores, they got basic information about the area around them.

In the competition, the participants remembered everything about themselves. They even had their original cultivation and skills they had. But it was of no use as fighting was restricted in the world. Even if they wanted, they wouldn’t be able to release any skill or energy. As for hand-to-hand combat, this world had ideal law & order agencies.

The moment someone was found fighting in the city, they would get captured by the police officers.

Since things were like this, none dared to fight and challenge the strength of the law enforcement group.

“Yes, I am new here,” Jonnah replied as a person approached his store since it was new here.

“What do you sell?” The man asked as the store wasn’t very big and it didn’t even have a title board.

“It’s a restaurant,” Jonnah answered.

It had only been moments since Jonnah had appeared here. He hadn’t even gotten the time to check the restaurant before a stranger came and began to ask him about it.

“Er! A restaurant!” The man exclaimed in surprise as the store only had enough space to set a single table. At the same time, the area here was filled with the poor who couldn’t even afford to eat once in days. Opening a restaurant here didn’t seem like a good decision to the man.

The man didn’t ask any other questions, as he could see the tragedy that was going to strike the restaurant owner for opening it in a place filled with hungry people.

The law enforcement agencies were omnipotent and omniscient here, but the things the hungry did for food were no secret.

Jonnah hadn’t expected such a reaction from the stranger. But after considering the details that had appeared in his mind, he had the same reaction as the stranger.

“Damn it!” Even he couldn’t help but curse after learning the details of the situation around him.

The rule for the contest clearly stated that the participants wouldn’t be able to fight, but there was nothing about whether there would be attacks on them or not. But when Jonnah thought about the format, he understood that the rules never stated how the participant would get disqualified from the competition.

For even a moment, Jonnah didn’t believe that the contest would have all five hundred million plus participants for five hundred years or until someone completed the mission.

Since things were like this, Jonnah grew solemn and understood the competition wasn’t going to be easy.

He not only needed to grow this restaurant of his but also other businesses. The competition wanted him to have a monopoly over the financial situation in less than five hundred years, and it included every product known to the people in this world.

At the same time, Jonnah found out that he only had an ordinary talent for cooking, so even to create a monopoly in the restaurant business, he was way behind and had no unique thing about his food.

Things didn’t look good at all to current Jonnah. Since the reward of becoming an assistant to the store with all its benefits was at stake here, he was willing to do everything within his limit and even go beyond it if needed to win the contest.

Every participant found themselves in a poor area with a store. Not all of them sold similar products.

Evelyn had become a deputy of the organization, Skylord, after she was the one to suggest Maria start an organization.

In those fifty years, she had worked harder than others in the organization to make it grow, and her talent in Panagea was known to every store customer since she had been at the second spot on the leaderboard for years.

Even when she learned that the store was going to hire, the first thought that popped into her head was to participate. Forget her; even Maria, who was the leader of the Skylord, had participated in the contest.

Neither Evelyn nor Maria knew what would happen to the organization if they won. The thought of their hard work dying never appeared in their hearts since everything was taken by the possibility of becoming the store assistant.

Each member of Maria’s organization had participated in the contest, ignoring what the consequences of their actions were going to be for Skylord.

Whether they won or lost, the first crack between the members had presented after this moment.

What the future held for the organization was for fate to tell. Whether the organization would exist or die like many new organizations, time would speak.
