The First Store System

751 Passing of Time(2)

Chapter 751: Passing of Time(2)

“What made you leave the island so suddenly?” Toran asked Kuriati after they reached their house and descended.

“A scary person,” Kuriati answered, while there was still some disbelief in his voice.

Kuriati then explained what he had sensed on the island to his wife.

Within the blink of an eye, three more months had passed inside the store and the tower’s worlds.

Kuriati had finally stabilized his early Level 5 cultivation, so after hearing Toran’s suggestion, he decided to initiate his actions.

Since Kuriati still remembered the man on the island, he decided against choosing that place as his base. But Kuriati instead decided to act against an organization that controlled a state, with its head being an intermediate Level 5 lifeform.

Fighting an intermediate Level 5 while being an early Level 5 lifeform was akin to suicide, but Kuriati had chosen his target after long consideration.

It was impossible for an organization to exist if it didn’t have at least an intermediate Level 5 lifeform in the leading position, so Kuriati had no choice but to challenge. He had another option where he could just cultivate, and when Kuriati grew to a sufficient level of strength, then he would begin his plan. Kuriati chose the former option since he had a feeling that the latter would turn out to be more harmful than proving useful for him.

Time flew by, and two more weeks had gone by in a flash.

Things went beyond Kuriati’s control only in the earlier stages of his plan. The organization he had his sights on controlled a state spanning over three thousand miles, and Kuriati also was a citizen of the state after ascension, so it was easier than other organizations for him to choose as his first target.

The head of the organization was also the King of the state, so he had several children. Some of them were known to everyone; some were known only to close friends and people with great influence in the state; then there were some who were only known to the King and the mother of the child.

Being one of the few early Level 5 lifeforms, Kuriati also had a great influence on the state, so he also knew about some secret children of the King. Kuriati had set those people to be off-targets since attacking the King’s children would be akin to forcing the King to attack personally.

Kuriati’s luck turned out to be worse than he had thought, as in the first secret battle with the organization, the person he killed turned out to be a third type of secret child of the King.

It wasn’t the end, as the secret child was also the favorite son of the King, and the man was grooming that child to be the next head of the organization, so when the King found out about his son’s death, the security around the state grew severalfold.

Since it was a secret battle, and Kuriati had left no survivors, no one knew he was the killer. But it didn’t remove the King’s suspicion of him.

There were around ten early Level 5 lifeforms in the state. Three of them belonged to the royal family, while the other seven were either from the noble families or other free cultivators,

Every cultivator above late Level 4 became a suspect for the King, so he banned his suspects from leaving the state.

Some of the early Level 5, who had gotten used to be treated as the highest of the nobilities, couldn’t accept this control on them by the King. Kuriati was also one of them since he hated someone trying to restrict his freedom.

Even though Kuriati didn’t like the ways of the King, he didn’t attempt to bypass the restriction set on him since the King was already angry and grieving for his son. Even he didn’t know what the man would do in anger if someone were to go against his orders.

Kuriati found the reaction of the King after the next two days. One of the early Level 5, who was traveling and was only staying in the state for a few months, wanted to leave. When the man got stopped, he attempted to force his way through, resulting in the King personally taking action.

Even though the King was the weakest intermediate Level 5 in control of an organization, he was still an intermediate Level 5. Even when a horse got injured, its kicks possessed the same power.

The King, in the end, killed the man in anger.

After seeing the King’s extreme reaction, Kuriati and Toran grew excited instead of feeling fearful.

As Kuriati and Toran expected, the other early Level 5 people in the state didn’t take this murder kindly. They were also people of the status. They were already distressed that despite being so powerful, someone else was controlling their actions, so when they saw the scene of the King ripping the early Level 5 in two, their minds grew even weary.

Even one of the three early Level 5 in the royal family didn’t like the King’s action. Someone reaches Level 5 after a lot of struggle and hard work. If it were times of war, people wouldn’t have cared, but in times of peace, people thought differently.

Even the King knew he had exaggerated his reaction, but since his mental condition wasn’t good due to his son’s death, he didn’t attempt to calm the growing tension in the state.

He instead announced a threat to other Levels 4 and 5 that if they tried to play the game of running, the reaction would be even crueler.

Time flew by, and six more days had passed.

The man killed by the King was also of no common status and had a late Level 5 son. On the sixth day after the death of the man, his son appeared in the state and destroyed the royal family, ruining Kuriati and Toran’s plan of using early Level 5 to gain control of the state.

When the state got attacked, Kuriati and Toran ran away since they had no love for the state, and also fighting a late Level 5 wasn’t acceptable to them.
