Chapter 1299: Can You do it?(17)
Laney couldn’t help but be surprised by the scene in front of her. She then looked at Aakesh, and a big smile spread across her face.
“Can I call you big brother?” Laney suddenly asked. Her big eyes were continuously blinking.
Aakesh simply nodded in response to Laney while Laney jumped up in excitement.
“Big brother, what do you think I should do with those two thieves?” Laney asked.
“It’s up to you,” Aakesh answered. He had already made up his mind not to interfere in what happened with the two guards outside the store. Laney and her father employed the two guards, so they should be the ones to handle it.
Talking with Laney, Aakesh suddenly had an idea. He looked at Laney with his usual indifferent expression and said, “Do you want me to give you a test?”
Laney was surprised by Aakesh’s question, but she still nodded after a pause of a few seconds.
“What will be the reward?” Laney then asked, fully confident in herself after she summoned the Yellow King on her first try.
“If you can cultivate the art to its first level in a week, I will give you a secret reward,” Aakesh ignored the child-like excitement and confidence on Laney’s face and responded.
Laney couldn’t help but harrumph when she heard the reward was a secret.
The system had asked the candidate to be secret from others and only reveal it once they had captured territory and had become the ruler. But Aakesh didn’t worry about it when he talked of giving a reward to Laney.
It wouldn’t be the first time he rewarded some customers randomly. There have been a few lucky customers in the past decade. Laney would be touted as such if others found out about it, so Aakesh had no reason to worry.
“Can you do it?” Aakesh asked, ignoring the slight frustration on Laney’s face.
“I will do it,” Laney immediately answered; she then added, “Big brother, you just prepare my reward.”
Laney didn’t wait for a response from Aakesh and then proudly left the line, walking toward the exit of the store.

Laney’s father’s love for her was such that if anything happened to Laney, the man would immediately wage war on the Fawkes Kingdom, ignoring even the presence of the store.
When Laney came out of the store, she found the two guards standing outside. Their stature wasn’t straight, and there were hints of pain on their faces. When they saw Laney coming out, fawning smiles spread across their faces, and they immediately charged at her.
Laney took two steps backward when she saw the guards charge. The guards seemed to have noticed their mistake, so they immediately stopped and bowed to apologize. The actions were simultaneous as if the two guards were puppets and some puppet master was controlling them.

It was finally Elia’s turn to reach the store owner. She asked to complete the purchase, passing the beast card to Aakesh.
Aakesh nodded and took the card. With a casual glance, the details of the purchase appeared in his mind.
“You need to pay five ultimate, six hundred eleven thousand one hundred ten supreme… Sacred stones,” Aakesh expressionlessly informed Elia.
The next moment, an alert asking him whether she wanted to pay with the card rang in her head. When she responded positively, the alert of the debited amount and after that, a notification about the remaining balance rang in her ears.
After Aakesh heard about the successful payment notification from the system, he informed Elia of the same.
Elia simply nodded upon learning that the beast was her from that day. She then put the card in her inner world, as it could be put even in the inner world of a Divine Lord cultivator.
She then focused on the next product in the store. Since she wanted revenge and battle talent was necessary for that. She had no battle talent to speak of, but she could somewhat close the gap with other geniuses using her hard work and experience.
Attacking skills would help her a lot since they would improve her fighting, so that was the next product on her mind.
Elia then asked several questions regarding the skills of Aakesh. Once Aakesh had answered all her questions, she left the queue and walked toward the skill room.
Elia had many skills to use since her family was the overlord of the planet, but since their deaths, she had stopped using them. She had become more of a strength-type skill user.
When Elia asked Aakesh about it, Aakesh suggested she try skills belonging to different elements and then experience them. It would help her find what element she was most compatible with. Elia understood that she couldn’t defeat a Supreme God cultivator just by rage and throwing punches; she needed to improve her fighting senses and the skills in her arsenal.
Even though it was helping the store since the experience session wasn’t cheap, Elia could see that Aakesh had no such intention when he gave her the suggestion. Even if the store owner had such intentions, Elia wouldn’t have cared.
Elia borrowed such a large amount to improve herself, so there was no point in thinking of the waste when it came to finding the best for her.
When Elia entered the room, she was greeted by the sight of several counters and customers thronging them. On the walls around the room, there were murals painted of different types of skills getting activated and their effects.
Elia saw many strength-based skills as well. One mural showed a cultivator punching through the fabric of space and turning their opponent into mush from a large distance away.
Elia returned her attention to the counters and walked toward the fourth one since it was for True God level cultivators.
