The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1993: Will It Be Something Cool?

  • Next Chapter

"What are we making? Will it be something cool?" Lotus asked as she walked over, holding hands with Skadi.

"We were going to make a dungeon style trial tower in town, like the one here, but open to the public. That way, we can charge for entry, and we don’t have to worry about the region not having enough resources.

If we do it right, I think that we can make it so you can take out the resources that it generates, we just need a bit of extra Supreme Ranked nature magic, which we now have thanks to our lovely Divine Botanist, and Miss Oak.

The other resources and rewards can already come out with the teams, but for now, the interior is all a solid illusion, so you can’t take out the magical plants.

If we can change that, it will be a proper Secret Realm style dungeon, and the guests won’t have any complaints when they exit."

Oak smiled. "And neither will we. The magical resources that a dungeon like that can generate if you use [Randomize] will be extremely powerful. They will even be useful for growth or alchemy.

There isn’t much more that you can ask for, that sort of instance is just as powerful as your Tiny World, even if it’s much more limited in duration and potential.

It will never grow beyond a dungeon, while the Tiny World will eventually become a proper world of its own. But you haven’t mastered everything that is needed to have it just generate resources on demand yet, so having both is an advantage.

But you can’t put them in the same spot or one will corrupt the other."

Karl’s mind ran through the potential interactions, and all the issues that the overlap would cause, then he understood. Because there were Fundamental Rules in play that he hadn’t even started to understand, if the Dungeon instance was inside the Tiny World, the two would interfere with each other.

The Tiny World would destabilize thanks to the presence of power beyond its creator that Karl couldn’t control, and the dungeon would destabilize as the uncontrolled power tried to merge with the Tiny World.

So, they could keep a standard Trial Tower in the Tiny World, but not this sort of functional dungeon, with all the extra features.

"Do you want to start on the project now? It shouldn’t take too long with all of us working together, and then I can do something cool to try to draw people to town."

"What did you have in mind?" Leon asked.

"I have a skill to purchase new skills. It causes quite a spectacle when you purchase a new item. If I do it in town, everyone in the region will think that we’ve had a high-grade treasure spawn near town, and they will come running.

I know they were all just here, but they should come back for that."

The Seraphim chuckled at the thought. "You have a point, they just left after welcoming us all to the Guild. Now, a powerful treasure spawns near the Guild? They will definitely be suspicious.

It might upset them, but they will almost certainly come to inspect.

The fact that we all showed up without explanation is enough that they were already wondering what we might be hiding. So, if they see a treasure appear, or sense it, they will think that we saw it coming.

They will all think that we had some sort of forewarning from an oracle."

The Darklight Host viewed oracle warnings as notoriously suspect. They were too easy to tamper with, and they were often incomplete, which led to misinterpretations of the vision that they showed.

So, while they took them as advice, they didn’t view them as infallible the way that many others did.

That would work in their favour this time, as nobody else would suspect that they didn’t have warning about the situation, if it was happening right outside their compound, which was not only newly founded, but with a half dozen brand-new Supreme Ranked residents.

"Is it going to be a big enough spectacle that it will draw others?" Oak asked.

Karl nodded, "Oh, it’ll be a spectacle alright. I know that half the Guilds have scouts in town, posing as travellers who are harvesting in the region, or just passing through. There hasn’t been a day since we built the hotel that there were no guests, when the Clan that was here before didn’t get more than one or two a year.

They didn’t even get ships to their docks, we had to clear and rebuild them when we arrived."

"When you put it that way, I suppose that it would be hard for them not to notice us doing something interesting and public. We will take your word that it’s going to be big enough that it will draw people here in larger numbers than simply placing the instance tower is going to do."

"Should we start on the project now? The final step doesn’t require any prep work. I just need to activate it with enough available Skill Points, and we will get all the show that we need."

Oak nodded. "I will go get everyone else. Leon knows a trick where he can record things that others have made in a creation array. So, we can have the dungeon give potions and pills, on top of the runic items that it would with just you guys doing it.

Then, with Louie and his blood magic, it should get a little extra kick.

Even Sam and Lumi can contribute to the project."

Karl saw the white dragon wince at the shortened nickname, but Oak either didn’t notice or didn’t care.

Louie the vampire came over to join the conversation, "It seems that we’ve all been volunteered for the new project. Congratulations on your new power level. I must say, it’s been a rather long time since I’ve seen someone with a Peerless Grade physique.

At this point, we might as well just declare you a territorial guardian and be done with it.

You might still be behind the curve for Guild Leaders in the region, but I doubt that there are more than a few who could actually beat you in a duel."

Karl patted him on the shoulder. "Now I just need a skill to hide the physique so that I can ambush unsuspecting idiots. None of the skills I’ve found so far will do it. The System keeps telling me that Avatars don’t hide."
