Chapter 1694 Chain Of Command
Chapter 1694 Chain Of Command
None of the top Elders were in the Clan at the moment, which left a bit of a void of leadership. But there was a process for this, and the disciples of the Elders, the lower Ascended Immortals, took charge of the regions that their mentor was responsible for in their stead.
Hopefully, the Elders would be back in the next few hours, anyhow. The Clan Leader could use a powerful enough portal to take them right to Gralpedrin.
The destruction was nearly complete, and most were checking for their valuables in the rubble, only to find that most of it was gone.
“Clan members! We have recovered the majority of the Clan’s valuables from the invaders. They will be turned over to the Resource Warehouse in the morning. So, if you had anything valuable in a house that is now destroyed, you are likely to get it back.” Karl shouted as they passed through the mostly destroyed residential area nearest the docks.
That brought some cheering, and the word spread quickly through the Clan that someone had protected their belongings.
The summoned Seraphim were tempted to tell them that if the badger had just left everything where it was, they would have it now, but refrained from causing trouble.
It would only cause more chaos, and that was anathema to their species.
Karl opened the apartment door, which nearly fell off its hinges. The barriers on the inside of the house had held up, barely, but the outside of the apartment was in bad shape.
“I will fix the house before I join you all,” Leo decided.
“I will assist him. Let my Tessa know that I will be late.” Thor agreed.
Tian hopped up on Thor’s shoulder. He could use Earth Magic, so he was the best of them to fix things. Leo could do the wooden shingles, and the door, but not the stone of the building.
At least not as well as Tian could.
And then there were all the neighbours. They should have snacks and head pats. Tian was a fan of both of those things, and helping rebuild their homes would surely earn him at least some affection.
Once they were in the Tiny World, Yewan came out of the Pet Space, his eyes excited.
“{Oh Em Gee!@ That was amazing. There was everything! Everything, and I got to see it all from that space. I understand so much now. So much!}”
The winged Supreme smiled and scritched the little dragon’s head. “I see that the hatchling had his first true taste of what death energy is like. Are you bonded to the Beast Master?
Or former Beast Master, I suppose, since his class has changed.”
Yewan shrugged. “{He created the place that is home, so I guess so? I don’t know how that works, but I think I can change my God’s opinion about him not being allowed to have a baby dragon.}”
The Supremes smiled at his enthusiasm.
From their point of view, it was already basically a done deal. If Karl had created a separate Pet Space for Yewan, that was halfway to a beast space, like an adjustment period to being a bonded dragon.
But none of them followed the black dragon directly, so they didn’t know the history of why Karl was not allowed to bond with a dragon when his class clearly allowed it.
Evidently, it was not because he was trying to force them. If anything, the dragon would forcibly bond with him, not the other way around.
“I left the Seraphim Army in the city to help maintain order, and in case someone tries to take advantage of the situation. A hundred Supreme Ranked Epic Constructs should be more than enough to keep the region secure. From what I can tell, Supremes are in short supply here. Our world’s peak is one Rank higher than yours, where our Clan Leaders are either powerful Supremes or Legends, and we’ve got a council of Demigods guiding the Darklight Host’s outreach.” The winged Supreme explained.
“That sounds like an incredibly stressful place to live.” Dana noted.
The Supreme shrugged. “Not anymore. The Darklight Host doesn’t discriminate by power or species as much as most. It’s all about abilities. The Darklight Host favours crafting and summoning skills above most other trades.”
“{So, you’re part of the warrior advancement effort as well?}” Yewan asked, curious if that was a thing everywhere or just here.
The Supreme laughed. “I suppose that we are. Our world’s System usually gives you four or five different classes before you’ve reached your limits. So, there are not many basic warriors, except among the children.
Even the ones who never make it past the lower Immortal stages are usually not Warriors anymore.”
Yewan nodded in understanding. Their world was full of cool people with fun skills.
The Supremes turned to examine the Tiny World, extending their sense to see how Karl had done building it.
“This is actually very impressive. Multiple Fundamental Rules, mortal and immortal energies blended, a properly balanced ecosystem, good variety of resources. Do you have an alchemist with you as well? If I’m reading this right, you should be a Runecrafter.”
Karl nodded. “Remi, our Naga Matriarch, is an alchemist. But Thor, the behemoth that remained outside to help clean up, is also a big fan of varied plant life. And we’ve got nature element dragons.”
“Ah, I see. You’ve relocated the strongest of your Branch members so that they’re not trapped by the limits of a Mortal World. That is brilliant. You should
have enough for a new Immortal Branch soon.
The System will inform you when you meet the qualifications to pass on your Mortal branch.”
Karl frowned. “They do still rely on my skills, for the Guild Skill.”
The Supreme shrugged. “When you leave a Mortal World branch to form one in
the Immortal Worlds, it will give you the role of Ascended Ancestor, so you can influence the Guild Branch you came from. It does the same for Immortals who
become Demigods.
It’s like a second branch skill as a reward for having someone of extreme power come from your hometown.”
