Chapter 1611 Wait For Ice Cream
Chapter 1611 Wait For Ice Cream
“So, what was it that made you decide that you wanted to be a bard?” The clerk asked Tian, who was basking in the glory of all his new skills.
{I wanted to do a job that nobody else in the team did.
I am supposed to be the healer, but everyone regenerates so fast, with really good defence, that I don’t usually have to do that full-time. But we already had lots of attack people.
So, I chose to be the one giving buffs.
Music is soothing, foxes are fluffy, it’s a natural combination. So, I got all the buff skills that I could to go with my new instrument.
I think I might get another one as well. Possibly, a flute. Or a lute, whichever is easier to play as a fox.}
The clerk smiled as she listened to Tian’s reasoning. It made some sense, and she had heard that Karl was quite overpowered in a dungeon.
Obviously, The Dana Mage was as well, now that she was a Golem Mistress, and had the [Auto Parry] skills of a former battle mage type class. But that was a reasonable sort of overpowered. Karl was apparently on a whole other level if Min was to be believed.
With his piece said, Tian waved at the clerk, and pointed his nose toward the door.
{Dana, can we go for snacks? I think that I want ice cream.}
“Ice cream!” Leo cheered.
“That is an unfair tactic. You know how hard it is to say no when you team up like that. But it’s almost time for a proper meal, you can have ice cream next time.”
With that, she led them back to the apartment, and pretended that she didn’t notice Cara running off to get the ice cream for after dinner.
Dana said “Next Time” but technically the next meal began the moment this one ended.
“Is there reason we’re going back to the room other than to eat? Because I see food right there.” Leo noted.
“We all need to practice if we’re going to get stronger.
Even you.
If we stay out all day and night all the time, when are we going to train? So, we will go back, visit the people in the Tiny World for dinner, and then take some time for ourselves.” Karl explained.
“Oh, that makes sense.
We should go visit Brother Thor and see how things are going. But does that mean that we can have the Karl use his new Breath Of The World on the dragon eggs?
Because that would be neat.”
Karl laughed at the thought of the caretakers’ response to him suggesting that he should evolve all the eggs in the Tiny World.
The conflict between hoping that the young ones would have a brighter future, and the dismay that the skill only worked on nascent beings, not fully grown ones, would drive them all a little insane.
Especially Button.
Being left out of the loop, stuck as one of the weaker dragons in the Tiny World when there was a whole batch of younger ones about to hatch, would be a strange spot for her.
But the Red Dragons should know how to deal with the situation.
They were trained to raise children of multiple species, so there had to be some trick to preventing bullying.
“We do need to go check on Thor and Tessa anyhow.
They’re going to need some support, no matter what species the kids come out as. But Tessa should have a fair bit of time before her due date still, I think.
There are also a lot of resources for Remi to transfer to the teams there.
I know that she has been collecting them from the dungeons, and from around the Clan compound. Not that there is much of value in the compound that isn’t claimed and privately harvested.
But those are things that don’t exist in the Tiny World yet.”
“Good idea. We should see everyone. I’m going now.” Leo announced, then vanished into the Tiny World to go find Thor.
“Do you think that we should warn him before he sees something he
shouldn’t?” Dana asked.
“Nah, let him learn. Besides, Thor knows that we’re coming for dinner, so they should be decent.”
Dana laughed as she finally noticed Thor’s thoughts. Normally, she tried to tune out the beasts as much as possible to give them privacy. Or because Cara was bored and trying to implant subconscious suggestions in her mind again.
But either way, she didn’t really listen in.
Thor had actually been on the training grounds, and while he was not currently dressed, he was in Behemoth form, trying to maximize his growth so that he could catch up a little.
The spaces were becoming imbalanced with him stuck at Mythic Rank, and just going home flooded him with power.
He had slacked for too long.
However, there were upsides. His pond, which was lined with Holy Stones, had been imbued with Immortal Energy, and the stones had advanced, so he was soaked in Immortal Rank Holy Energy when he napped in the pool.
That was nice.
Karl decided not to move everyone to the Tiny World directly. They would wait until they were in the apartment, where it was harder for anyone to detect what they were doing.
That would keep up the illusion that they were still around and available if someone needed them.
And it would keep the Elders from getting suspicious that they might be
holding out on the good stuff. Because Karl definitely was doing that. He hadn’t asked for a single piece of the loot that the beasts got on the last run, he had only turned in and upgraded what it had given him.
He was the only one who got the Dungeon loot boxes for the bosses, but the others still got loot off the other mobs at random.
It might not be as much loot, but Leo was quite pleased with his new hat, and
that was a drop that he had received directly.
That made it special, in his opinion.
