The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1606 Breath Of The World

Chapter 1606 Breath Of The World

The Clan Leader wasn’t sure what to say to that. Changing the difficulty of one Dungeon was already enough chaos for one month. Hell, it was enough chaos for one year, as the Sects would be fighting over the trial the next time it appeared as well, until they found the method to change the difficulty on their own.f

That was unlikely to happen, but now they knew that it was possible, so they would not give up easily.

It was definitely going to be a hassle for the New Home, Nerissa knew.

However, she could blame it on a token, and there wouldn’t be much that the Sects could do about it. If a single use artifact changed the difficulty for everyone, that was just a side effect of a stronger group trying to get the most out of their run, which was something every group should strive for.

They couldn’t blame her people for doing what was best for them, even if it made the other groups look weak or unprepared.

Especially if it made the other Sect’s teams look weak.

None of the Clan Leaders would willingly admit that the difficulty was too high for anyone in their Sect to complete it. Not when everyone knew that someone had actually done it.

They might be speculating on who it was, but they wouldn’t admit it wasn’t them until unless called out.

“Alright, why don’t you open your reward and see what you got for half a challenge?” The Clan Leader insisted.

Karl took out the reward box, which was glowing with an ominous red light. “Wait, just one second.” Cara insisted.

Her head darted forward, and she frowned. “Hmm, you can’t touch it, the light is a solid barrier.”

The Clan Leader shrugged. That was fairly normal. The System reward boxes weren’t a solid object, they would vanish once opened.

Karl touched the box, and focused on opening it.

{Rewards Granted}

{Rewards Increased by Ironman Title}

Then the loot box vanished, and dozens of Epic Grade items appeared on the desk in front of him.

“Oh, there is some good stuff in here.” Leo cheered, then took out a pair of leather gloves that matched the boots he wore in Tortollan form.

“Wait, before you equip and bind those, I have an idea.” Karl informed him.

Reluctantly, Leo put the gloves back, and Karl prepared to cast [Breath of the World].

[Breath of the World] Artifact Grade Crafting Skill. When used during crafting, imbues items with the power of the World Dragon, increasing quality by one grade. When used on magical items or resources, improves quality by one grade.

{Hidden Effect} When used by a World Dragon or World Dragon Avatar, can be used to create sentient items, imbued with System Functionality. If used on a non-sentient or nascent magical beast, this skill will trigger immediate evolution into a sentient form one Rank in potential higher than its base.

{Breath Of The World Activated} [Rerolling items]

The loot on the table all shimmered, and then Leo found himself staring at a whole table full of similar, but not quite identical items.

Everything that was Epic Grade was now what the System called “Peerless” Grade.

That was what Karl and the others would have called “Totem Grade” back in their own world. But this was a much better name for it. After all, Totem was a mortal ranking thing, and it didn’t really fit for grading Immortal items.

He grabbed the gloves and examined them again.

“Oh, still very good. The colour is a bit off, but I can live with it. I like these.” He cheered.

They weren’t actually great gloves, at least in the conventional sense.

They had strength and constitution bonuses on them were absolutely ridiculous, but they didn’t have a special ability or embedded skill.

They did have all elemental resistance, though.

That made them worth wearing, in Leo’s opinion. They made him stronger, more durable, and harder to damage. That was all he wanted out of gear, it didn’t need to give him some special new skill.

“What … was that?” Elder Forsham asked.

“You like it? That’s the Breath of the World. One of my Class Skills. I can use it on unbonded loot to give it a reroll with a good chance at an upgrade. It looks like I have good luck today, and I see some truly impressive loot in this pile.

Speaking of which, I still have all my items from the first run, so once I’ve sorted out the good stuff for future use, I should go to the warehouse and turn some of this in.”

“I don’t know if they are going to love or hate you.” Nerissa joked. “Definitely hate me. Min was already considering calling in sick until everyone else in the group turned in their loot from the run yesterday.

I can guarantee that she doesn’t want to be there when all of this gets listed in the Clan’s inventory.

Too many members watch the inventory list with a filter, and they will see the moment that these Peerless Grade items come active.”

Elder Forsham eyed the pile of items with envy. There were things in there that he would personally love to acquire. Epic Grade items weren’t hard for an Elder to get their hands on if they wanted them.

But anything over that rarely came up for sale.

The fact that Karl could make loot at Epic Grade into Peerless Grade items

needed to be kept quiet.

However, Karl had said there was “a chance”, which implied that there was a chance it would also fail. Downgrading a whole run’s loot by one grade would drive many groups to the brink of despair.

“You don’t mind if I take a look, do you? There are some nice things here, and I

might want to purchase some directly.” He offered.

“Of course, Elder. Clan Leader, if you would like anything, perhaps for your

personal disciples, feel free to peruse the loot.”

“You are a considerate one. I won’t stand on ceremony, my new disciple certainly could use a reward for their hard work.”
