Chapter 1552 Class Obelisk
Chapter 1552 Class Obelisk
Now that the betting was settled, Karl stepped forward to the Obelisk, wondering if it was going to react to him at all.
He did make it, so it might not.
Karl put his hand on the obelisk and fed it a bit of mana. Immediately, he found himself in the Class Selection menu, looking at a small group of copies of himself.
“Wonderful, it did work.”
Karl stared at the options in front of him. The first one was a [Beast Rancher], which seemed odd. Though, the skills that it had were all related to animal health and growth rates. So, the name was correct.
Lotus would love it.
The next was [World Dragon Archpriest], predictably clerical in nature. Though, the skills didn’t look like any Cleric skills he had seen before. It was almost a mix between a Green Dragon’s nature skills, and Cara’s Chaos skills.
Many of them were intended to influence the System, and the core skill was [Awakening] to forcibly assign a class to a juvenile who was compatible.
That one sounded fun, but perhaps not the best choice.
Cara would definitely be a fan of that class, and would abuse it to extents previously unseen by humankind.
But Karl moved along to the others.
The third option was [Immortal Beast Master Champion], and it was literally his
class. All the skills were exactly the same, only the name of the class was different.
He could almost feel the gods trolling him.
The fourth was called [Ancient Pet Sitter], and the skills were… terrifying. Especially the first Core Skill.
{All Things Are Pets} allows the creation of a [Beast Space] type separate space, including a suitable Kennel and Food Supply, for any species of bonded creature, living or undead. Increases growth rate and prevents illness.
A memory of Rae’s voice echoed through Karl’s mind:
{The Dana Space}
The related skills all looked insanely powerful, but somehow sinister. He would have to come back after looking at the other class.
The final option was the [Immortal Beast King]. The core skills seemed normal enough. [Sovereign Authority] could command beast type creatures to obey his will. [Royal Guard] granted a permanent buff to beasts one Rank or more beneath the Beast King when they were protecting his people or following his orders.
Honestly, it looked more valuable once you were at Supreme Rank, as Immortal was all considered one Rank by the System, though it covered a massive amount of progression.
Out of all the options, there was no clear and outstanding option.
One was optimized for farming, one was for commanding armies, one was a Cleric of the System, and the remaining one felt a bit like it was made by the sort of Immortal who had brought the bunny girls to the Clan as slaves.
However, going through the [Ancient Pet Sitter] Class, it got more normal once you got past the initial skills.
[World Crafting] enhances a {World} or {Domain} type separate space with the Fundamental Rules of [Creation] and [Life].
That skill alone would be enough to send Remi into a blissful state.
The bonuses that it would give to growing new plants in the Tiny World would be immense. But if Karl wasn’t wrong, it could also be used to make the Illusionary Domain’s occupants into actual living creatures. They wouldn’t be able to leave the Domain, but it would add a whole new level of realism, even beyond [Reality Warp].
However, it was the next skill in the tree that sealed the decision.
[Chaos Vortex] creates a five-dimensional rift, dealing (Chaos} damage to all affected targets. Chaos Damage affects the target’s weakest resistance. Chance to apply {Time Lock} paralyzing targets that are not immune to time Element skills.
The other skills looked like a mix of buffs for bonded beasts, attack and control skills.
So, it was
rounded Class, with an unfortunate name.
Rae would not be happy about being referred to as a Pet.
Not at all impressed.
However, once she saw the benefits, she might change her mind.
Plus, this Class was much less point intensive than the old one was. They could get some of the skills from the Skill Tree, and still put points into damage enhancement, from the Beast Master Champion skill, {Destructive Beast
Master}.
Still, seeing the options that he had, Karl wondered if he had not picked up the right mix of skills to get the appropriate class.
None of them quite matched the direction that he had been going in the past.
Then he noticed a correlation.
[Ancient Pet Sitter] had {Tribulation Chain) in its skill tree.
How it was intended to use the skill seemed fairly obvious, given the context. It was for taming and restraining unruly beasts.
The Skill Tree also had [Soul Harvest] further up the branches. It was grouped with damage buffs and combat skills, which included a number of combat styles. The more that he looked at it, the more comprehensive the class’s skill tree looked.
So, that explained why this particular Class was an option. He already had two of its specialty skills. But not its core skills, which would have made it a waste
to pick, even if the trees were good.
Perhaps he would wait?
He could grab a few more skills and see if there was a normal option along the Beast Master line? That seemed like the best choice for him. The Classes he
could get were powerful, but a bit too strange.
{Exit Not Approved. Please Finish Class Selection.}
[…]
Karl stared at the System Message. He wasn’t allowed to leave the Class Selection menu until he picked? And he couldn’t use any skills in here, so he couldn’t try to gain another one to open a new Class option.
World Dragon Archpriest was clearly from [Breath Of The World]. And it was a
great class. An absurdly good class, really.
Just not the one he wanted.
Beast Rancher and Immortal Beast King must be the base advancements of the
Beast Master Champion Class. It made sense, one was the combat evolution, leading many beasts. The other one …
Wait. That Octopus had thousands of tamed beasts with it. If it had a Beast Rancher type class, it would make perfect sense. They would follow it, and it would have skills to keep them contained and under its influence.
He could see the appeal.
It would also be insanely good in the Tiny World with two hundred and some
Dragon Eggs. Starting a Ranch to raise baby dragons might be the most impressive skill that any of the Immortals had seen in a long time. Perhaps he had underestimated the power of these advanced classes.
In the end, the reconsideration of the other classes didn’t change his decision.
Karl knew which one was closest to where he was headed, with the best
rounded skill set to help his team grow.
