Chapter 30: Six Days Of Growth.

Instead of exploding in anger, he took a deep breath and exhaled heavily. Even then, it still took a lot of effort for him to remain calm and say gently, "Don’t worry."

"You don’t need to do any sex stuff. I promise that you’ll become a maid. Just go and eat."

"You promise?" she asked, looking up at him with pitiful eyes.

His body was frozen, so he couldn’t nod. But he tried to show how sincere he was in his mellow voice as he said, "I promise you."

Just then, his tongue shot out of his mouth toward her face. She fell back onto the mat, shrieking at the top of her lungs and covering her face in fear.

"Now why would you do that?" he shouted in his head.

The worm shouted back, saying, "I don’t have to explain myself to you. You’re not the boss of me."

Alexander could only sigh and ignore the irascible worm. Then he said to the girl in the gentlest voice he could manage, "Don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you."

But the girl didn’t listen. She sobbed, and her body shook with her crying as she wailed, "Mommy. Daddy."

Try as he might, he couldn’t console her. It didn’t help that his wayward came out many times to scare her. Not even an offer of food could make her stop crying.

For the second time in a short time, Alexander sighed. Then he sat down in front of her and watched her. Not that he had anything else to do. His worm wouldn’t let him leave.

She lay on the mat and cried for a few minutes. Eventually, she got tired and fell asleep.

With nothing important to do, he checked his status and attributes. His consciousness sank beyond his mind, into the depths of his being, where the Life Forge lay.

When he reached the limit, he thought, ’Status.’

’I heard that the limit of the physique of normal humans is 10 points in each attribute. Even the best Squire only has a total of 30 points in their physical attributes.’

’They worked all of their lives and spent a lot of resources to achieve the cap of 30 points. Yet, I used 6 days to smash their limit.’

’And this is just the start for me. Apparently, the limit for Small Bosses like me is 90 points total, with 30 points in each attribute. Apostles are truly inhumane,’ he thought, whistling in amazement.

’If a Small Boss like me can grow this much so quickly, I wonder how strong Tessa and other Big Bosses are?’ he asked himself.

Then he shook his head, ’Forget Tessa and the Big Bosses. What I want to know is how strong the Tyrants are.’

He really wanted to know what made Tyrants so strong. Unfortunately, he had no way to answer that question.

In fact, he had never seen a Tyrant all of his life. If not for the fact that everyone was sure that they existed, he would have thought they were a hoax.

’Then again, I can’t ask questions around here. I can’t even ask how strong Apostles are supposed to be. If I hadn’t overheard Roy talking about it, I wouldn’t have been able to get the information I wanted,’ he thought, grumbling as he returned to the main screen.

’If I keep growing at the rate of 3 attributes per day, I could be done in less than 450 days. So I only need to maintain my growth rate and keep myself from dying for 15 months, and I will have another Life Anchor to boost my strength.’
