The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2890: Am I Not More Useful Than Those Demonic Beasts?
"Woman?"
Snow Zane sneered, "To an immortal, the body is just a shell; the soul is the only thing that matters. To survive, it’s not unacceptable to seize the body of a woman for rebirth, or even to possess a demonic beast. After all, being alive means infinite possibilities; death means truly having nothing."
Carson Flores turned to look at the unconscious Lucindra Lam, "What’s happened to her?"
Snow Zane replied, "I caught her, trying to pull out the Primordial Spirit of Broken Heaven Pathist. Broken Heaven Pathist took over forcibly, seizing control of this body and merging with it. Can you guess why he did it?"
Carson Flores’s face turned peculiar, "Does he think we wouldn’t dare harm Lucindra Lam?"
Snow Zane smiled softly, "Exactly. More accurately, he’s desperately clutching at straws. Come, let me show you a good show..."
Golden Light appeared at the tip of Snow Zane’s finger, which landed on the brow of the unconscious Lucindra Lam.
Two figures emerged, none other than Lucindra Lam and Broken Heaven Pathist.
Lucindra Lam’s figure was so faint it seemed ready to vanish into the wind. She glared angrily at Broken Heaven Pathist, "Father, why are you doing this to me? I gave up everything for revenge, did degrading things to win the Palace Master’s favor, and yet you want to take my body and murder your own daughter just to survive?"
Broken Heaven Pathist yelled, "If I had another way, I wouldn’t resort to this. Who wants to die?"
Lucindra Lam shouted angrily, "But I’m your daughter, your own flesh and blood!"
Broken Heaven Pathist retorted, "If you had to kill me, your father, to survive, would you do it? Don’t just say no; ask your conscience honestly, would you do it?"
"You joined Spring God Palace, became Mordyn Jandric’s disciple, laid with him; were you truly solely focused on avenging me?
Lucindra Lam paused, her originally furious air weakening considerably.
Seeing this, Carson Flores couldn’t help but lament, like father, like daughter.
Neither one of them is a fool!
Broken Heaven Pathist turned to Carson Flores, "Carson Flores, I admit I had malicious intent towards you, but you weren’t harmed. Be magnanimous, spare me; the Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice, I’ll give it to you, along with all my collections. I only ask you to grant my daughter and me a chance to live."
Carson Flores chuckled, "Had I not been prepared, with some skill, your daughter’s plea would have already scattered my soul. If it were you, would you spare me? You don’t think just because I’m kind to you, you’d assume I’m soft-hearted, and this matter will just blow over if you beg and flatter me, right?"
Seeing Carson Flores unwilling to spare him, Broken Heaven Pathist threatened fiercely, "My Divine Spirit is linked to the Sun and Moon Dragon Chalice. If you kill me, its power will greatly diminish, even if it ends up with you. You’re not getting my collections either. I’m prepared to drag us both down!"
Carson Flores laughed, "Is that a threat? Unfortunately, I’m used to letting things fall apart and not accustomed to being threatened. If the power diminishes, so be it; it’s a windfall, and I don’t care. As for your collections, if I get them, great; if not, no loss to me. Am I right?"
Broken Heaven Pathist grew anxious and pleaded again, "I may lack a body, but I’m a Quasi-Saint. Keeping me would be better than those demonic beasts of yours. I can be your subordinate, even a slave. I can bind myself with a contract, submit my True Soul to you, serve you as master..."
Carson Flores blinked, a Quasi-Saint as a slave?
Though weakened, he was right; a Quasi-Saint is still a Quasi-Saint.
Carson Flores was tempted but knew controlling a Quasi-Saint was perilous. Who knows when he might strike, and I might not even have time to destroy his True Soul.
Carson Flores turned to Snow Zane, "Predecessor, what’s your opinion?"
Snow Zane smiled, "A Quasi-Saint wasted, but it’s a pity to kill him. Do you want to take him in?"
Carson Flores honestly replied, "As he said, he’s far superior to a Great Land Prime Immortal despite being weakened, but he’s no good man. Tricky and full of schemes; if he stays, I’d have to be cautious, afraid of his betrayal at any time!"
Broken Heaven Pathist heard a chance for survival and swore venomously, "I only wish to live now. If you spare me, I’ll swear and submit to any of your restrictions. I don’t want to die, so I dare not play any tricks..."
