Chapter 1728: Chapter 1825: The Identity of the Mysterious Person

Fang Lin touched his chin and said, “Want to detoxify, huh? Actually, it’s not impossible, but you two came to kill me. Why should I detoxify you? Do you think I’m a fool?”

Zhang Lao’er watched as his shoulder began to rot too, feeling extremely anxious, he immediately said, “If you detoxify me, we won’t kill you and let you leave this place.”

Fang Lin curled his lips, “Your Hidden Kill Hall does everything so maliciously, and your words are as trustworthy as farts. Should I believe you?”

Zhang Lao’er forced down his anger, “Then what exactly do you want?”

Fang Lin didn’t beat around the bush, directly said, “I’ll ask you some things, and if you honestly answer me, I’ll tell you how to detoxify.”

“Okay, what do you want to know?” Zhang Lao’er agreed immediately, not caring what Fang Lin would ask. What could matter more than his own life?

Wu Laosan was slightly hesitant, glancing at Zhang Lao’er.

The latter understood Wu Laosan’s concern — afraid Fang Lin would ask about Hidden Kill Hall’s secrets. Although both were highly ranked in Hidden Kill Hall, above the likes of Green Robe Guest and Blackface Old Farmer, there were even more powerful figures above them. Revealing the Hall’s secrets might lead to being punished.

“Laosan, what do we care about those now? If neither of us speaks, no one will know.” Zhang Lao’er said sternly.

Upon hearing this, Wu Laosan fell silent.

“Hey, I’ll tell you, this poison is very potent. The longer you delay, the harder it is to eradicate.” Fang Lin said matter-of-factly.

Zhang Lao’er’s face turned frighteningly dark, he took a deep breath, trying to calm the anger in his heart.

“Hurry and ask.” Zhang Lao’er urged.

Fang Lin toyed with two black jade bottles in his hand, nonchalantly said, “How can you two stay unaffected in this gray mist?”

Hearing this question, Zhang Lao’er secretly breathed a sigh of relief. This wasn’t anything too secretive, so telling Fang Lin wasn’t a problem.

“Both Laosan and I ate the flesh of the demon beast, so we can adapt to this gray mist.” Zhang Laosan said.

Fang Lin, upon hearing this, was secretly surprised. They had eaten demon beast flesh; no wonder they could move freely in this gray mist without being affected by its corrosion, which was far superior to Fang Lin’s True Essence Golden Body Pill.

“Do you have any extra demon beast flesh on you? If yes, give me a piece.” Fang Lin directly asked for the demon beast flesh from them.

Zhang Laosan shook his head, “Laosan and I only received a small piece each, no extras.”

Fang Lin slightly frowned, continuing to ask, “What is the origin of that demon beast? Tell me everything.”

Zhang Laosan hesitated for a moment, then said, “I don’t know the origin of the demon beast either; it’s something released by the Green Robe Guest. He knows more than us.”

“Green Robe Guest? So, it’s this guy causing trouble. Seems like I shouldn’t have spared him back then.” Fang Lin, upon hearing this, his face grew even darker.

Back then, at the Extreme North Icefield, Sky Swallowing Palace defeated various formidable foes. Only the Green Robe Guest and Blackface Old Farmer survived from Hidden Kill Hall, and later the Blackface Old Farmer chose to die, leaving a chance for the Green Robe Guest.

Fang Lin now felt some regret. If he had known the Green Robe Guest would release such a terrifying demon beast, he would have killed him directly back then, saving the world from disaster.

Then again, even if he had killed the Green Robe Guest, the demon beast might still have been released. As long as Hidden Kill Hall existed, someone else would have unleashed the demon beast.

“Do you truly know nothing about that demon beast?” Fang Lin looked somewhat skeptical.

Wu Laosan coldly replied, “Indeed, we know nothing. No matter how many times you ask, it’s the same.”

Fang Lin snorted, no longer dwelling on this question, “Then, who in your Hidden Kill Hall sealed my cultivation?”

Zhang Lao’er and Wu Laosan both changed their expressions, seemingly knowing who sealed Fang Lin’s cultivation but hesitated to say.

Fang Lin saw these two were apprehensive and said indifferently, “The delay in time has nothing to do with me. You’d better think clearly before answering.”

Zhang Lao’er grimaced, biting his teeth, “It was the Hall Master who personally sealed your cultivation.”

“Lao’er!” Wu Laosan’s expression dramatically changed, not expecting Zhang Lao’er to reveal it directly.

Zhang Lao’er also showed a complex expression, difficult to describe, filled with worry, struggle, and ruthlessness.

Fang Lin was greatly shaken. He always thought the person who sealed his cultivation was related to Hidden Kill Hall, at least one of its highest-ranking members. Unexpectedly, it was the Hidden Kill Hall Master himself?

“No way! If the Hidden Kill Hall Master acted, why not kill me instead of just sealing my cultivation? It doesn’t make sense!” Fang Lin felt puzzled.

According to common sense, Fang Lin and Hidden Kill Hall were mortal enemies, their relationship could be described as irreconcilable hatred. Both sides were keen to eliminate each other.

If it were up to Fang Lin, he would never do something so unnecessarily complicated, he would simply kill and be done with it, straightforward and clean, leaving no future troubles.

But that mysterious person only sealed Fang Lin’s cultivation without dealing a fatal blow, making the whole situation more intriguing.

Moreover, learning that it was the Hidden Kill Hall Master, Fang Lin not only did not feel enlightened, but felt the mystery deepened, as the whole matter made no sense.

Of course, perhaps there were many things Fang Lin was unaware of, but at least Fang Lin didn’t feel he got any valuable information from Zhang Lao’er.

“You can probably guess my next question.” Fang Lin said with a blank expression.

Zhang Lao’er and Wu Laosan frowned; they naturally could guess what Fang Lin would ask next. It would be the identity of the Hidden Kill Hall Master.

“The matter of the Hall Master, we know very little. We ourselves have never even met him; all orders are relayed through Elder Sun.” Zhang Lao’er said.

“Elder Sun?” Fang Lin asked.

Zhang Lao’er said, “Elder Sun is the Hidden Kill Hall’s top martial artist, considered the vice Hall Master.”

“Elder Sun? Zhang Lao’er? Wu Laosan? Haha, how interesting.” Fang Lin laughed mockingly a few times, unclear whether he was mocking their names or something else.

Meanwhile, Zhang Lao’er’s shoulder was already torn apart, spreading towards his neck and chest.

Fang Lin silently calculated the time in his heart, but on the surface, he remained calm and unperturbed.

“If you have no other questions, give us the antidote, and we will let you leave as promised.” Zhang Lao’er saw Fang Lin not speaking and demanded the antidote.
