Chapter 1558: Chapter 1656: The Origin of Sealing Sword Pavilion

All the renowned swords of the world shall enter my Sealing Sword Pavilion!

All swordsmen in the world shall ascend my Sword Head List!

With its resurgence, the Sealing Sword Pavilion brandishes a colossal sword across the Nine Countries’ lands, intimidating the eight directions and causing countless powerhouses to lose their composure and many forces to feel trepidation.

Within the Sky Swallowing Palace, Fang Lin stands face to face with Dugu Nian, with several masked persons standing to the side.

“What’s the origin of this Sealing Sword Pavilion?” Fang Lin asked.

The White Crane masked person, who is also the last Sword Head Nangong Shoujian from eight hundred years ago, said: “The Sealing Sword Pavilion was a massive force that disappeared a thousand years ago. Before its disappearance, a sword appraisal was held every fifty years to determine the number one sword in the world, the number one swordsman, and the foremost young Sword Tao practitioner. However, the Sealing Sword Pavilion suddenly vanished without a trace, and no one could locate it. The subsequent sword appraisals were conducted by various forces from the Nine Countries on their own accord, until eight hundred years ago, the last edition, the one I participated in.”

“Sounds like this Sealing Sword Pavilion is quite mysterious,” Fang Lin nodded and said.

Nangong Shoujian continued: “Indeed, it’s shrouded in mystery. No one knows who founded the Sealing Sword Pavilion, but it was abundant with swordsmen, each being a master of the Sword Tao. They also gathered many famous swords from around the world. At that time, they were a force that could stand equal with the Upper Three Countries and the Pill Alliance, even participating in several campaigns to eradicate the Hidden Kill Hall.”

“I also have some understanding of the Sealing Sword Pavilion, having encountered several people from the Pavilion, all formidable individuals,” said the Sky-Swallowing Fox with silver hair cascading over her shoulders.

“Why did the Sealing Sword Pavilion disappear back then?” Dugu Nian asked at this moment.

Nangong Shoujian shook his head: “I do not know this either. If the master from whom I sought guidance back in the day were still alive, perhaps I could learn something from him. However, my master has long passed away, and he too was once a swordsman of the Sealing Sword Pavilion, having ascended the Sword Head List once.”

Hearing this, Fang Lin looked at Nangong Shoujian with some surprise. He hadn’t expected this elderly man’s master to have such a significant background, having been a swordsman from the Sealing Sword Pavilion and ascended the Sword Head List?

“Speaking of which, what exactly is the Sword Head List?” inquired Dugu Nian.

Nangong Shoujian explained: “Every fifty years, the Sealing Sword Pavilion conducts a sword appraisal, and every hundred years, the Sword Head List is published, selecting the ten strongest swordsman in the world. That is the Sword Head List.”

“I see,” Dugu Nian mused with a slight smile on her face.

Touching his chin, Fang Lin thought the Sealing Sword Pavilion, silent for a thousand years, now brazenly emerges and even spreads rumors of sealing swords and annihilating skies. What does this mean? Is the Sealing Sword Pavilion aiming to destroy the Sky Swallowing Palace?

“My fellow Hall Masters, with the Sealing Sword Pavilion surfacing now and seeming to confront our Sky Swallowing Palace, I fear their intentions are malicious. We should take early precautions,” Nangong Shoujian advised with a bow.

“Indeed, we should be on guard. Send Gray Wolf back from Tang Country,” Dugu Nian ordered.

“Understood.” The Sky-Swallowing Fox immediately went to summon the Man with the Wolf Head Mask who was in Tang Country.

Fang Lin looked at Nangong Shoujian with interest, asking with a smile: “If we speak of Nangong elder’s mastery of the Sword Tao, could you not also ascend this so-called Sword Head List?”

Nangong Shoujian gave a bitter smile: “With my current strength, I could only barely cling to the bottom of the list. Even my master from back then ranked only ninth on the Sword Head List.”

“That impressive?” Fang Lin muttered to himself.

“No matter how formidable that Sealing Sword Pavilion is, if it dares to stand in the way of my Sky Swallowing Palace, I’ll have it utterly eradicated,” Dugu Nian stated casually, as though in her eyes, destroying the Sealing Sword Pavilion was a trivial task.

Fang Lin glanced at Dugu Nian and said nothing. With her current strength, if the Sealing Sword Pavilion didn’t possess warriors of the Immortal realm, it truly wouldn’t merit Dugu Nian’s attention.

After all, in this world, there are not many people left who could be considered a match for her, Dugu Nian.

····

In a mountain forest in Tang Country, dressed in blue with an ancient sword on his back, Cao Xuesheng walked at a leisurely pace.

Having received a command from the Sky Swallowing Palace, he needed to return there as quickly as possible, so after a brief and hurried meeting with the Thousand Gold Pavilion Master, he embarked on the journey back to the Sky Swallowing Palace without delay.

However, Tang Country was an extremely long distance from the Extreme North Land. Even if Cao Xuesheng hurried, it would be difficult to reach the Sky Swallowing Palace within ten days.

“Hmm?” Suddenly, the surrounding area became eerily silent, and even the sounds of insects and birds had completely disappeared.

Cao Xuesheng stopped in his tracks and looked ahead.

Within the misty mountain forest, a figure slowly emerged, stopping about ten steps away from Cao Xuesheng.

“My my, it’s quite hard to find someone from the Sky Swallowing Palace; I was lucky to have found you,” the newcomer said with a laugh, a teasing tone to his words.

Cao Xuesheng remained smiling as he looked at the man.

The man was dressed in tattered clothes and his hair was somewhat disheveled, giving him the appearance of a person fleeing from calamity. Though young in looks, his face was dirt-smudged with one eye larger than the other— not particularly pleasing to look at.

The young man was holding a Longsword, blocking Cao Xuesheng’s path.

“Who are you?” Cao Xuesheng asked softly.

With a straw in his mouth, the young man patted the dust off his body and said, “I’m from the Sealing Sword Pavilion, tasked with taking your head.”

“Sealing Sword Pavilion?” Cao Xuesheng muttered, pondered for a moment, then nodded. He was aware of the Sealing Sword Pavilion’s reemergence; he just hadn’t expected to become their target so soon.

“That’s right, I’m from the Sealing Sword Pavilion. So just let me chop off your head nicely, it’ll be over for you and save me some effort. Sounds good, doesn’t it?” the young man said with a smile.

His tone sounded as if he was negotiating with Cao Xuesheng, yet it carried an undeniable certainty.

Cao Xuesheng chuckled: “I’m afraid that’s not going to work. If you want my head, you’ll need some real skill to take it.”

Upon hearing this, the young man’s face showed a trace of concern: “That’ll be troublesome then; I’m just a lowly, unremarkable swordsman within the Sealing Sword Pavilion without much skill.”

“Then we are quite similar; I am also one of those without much skill in the Sky Swallowing Palace,” Cao Xuesheng said with a laugh.

The two of them seemed to hit it off instantly, chatting merrily with each other, but the Sword Qi around them was gradually rising.

“Your sword isn’t bad. The Sword Pond Sect was once a great Taoist Sect of Sword Tao, and although it has declined, your Cold Cicada Sword can indeed be considered a Divine Weapon. The Sealing Sword Pavilion has its eyes on it and intends to take it along with your head,” the young man said, staring at Cao Xuesheng.
